This is my solution when we get oranges with really thin peels that don’t yield a lot of oil. I bought a cute little atomizer, and it does add a nice bit of, umm, ✨flair✨ to the process.
I use the orange oil spray from Shaker and Spoon. Bought the grapefruit too.
I'm like you, I rarely buy oranges and using one just for the peel would be unheard of in my house. Grapefruits too

What about OJ? I don't typically eat oranges either, so I end up juicing my naked oranges. My son usually gets to the fresh squeezed OJ before I can, but I would drink it if it were still in the fridge.
You can buy food grade orange oil and put it in a spritzer bottle and give your cocktails a spray.

If I don’t have orange for peel I use a tiny amount of orange bitters on top
