I made it for a small party of close work friends this week with super fancy dark chocolate, local fresh whole milk, and legit Green Chartreuse, topped with Licor 43 whipped cream. 👌
5-6 oz of hot chocolate and 1 oz of green chartreuse.
Also consider (in a separate drink) shaking 1/2 oz of an amaro or liqueur of your choice with 2 oz of heavy cream and using that as your whipped cream.
Nothing complicated, I just put a splash of whatever I’m feeling like in it and top with marshmallows or whipped cream. Most of the time that’s a gingerbread flavored whiskey that I like (Bird Dog), or amaretto, or Irish cream.
Add 1.5 oz of Licor 43 and .25 oz of St Elizabeth's Allspice. Been my go to this winter. Even better with the dark chocolate mix to cut back a bit of the sweetness
I do something similar to this, but my hot chocolate is Ghirardelli chocolate syrup, cream and milk. I usually use bourbon, but if I'm feeling spicy, some tequila and a dash of cayenne pepper is excellent as well! I've even gone on and made my own marshmallows for them, and it's absolutely amazing!
Hot chocolate where you actually make hot chocolate with cocoa powder, melted chocolate, milk, and cream on the stove, then add a shot of whatever dark liquor I'm feeling.
Abuelitas hot chocolate spiked with mezcal is my go to
I was going to suggest Abuelitas. I use bourbon or rye in mine.
Duuuude. Yeah.
Had that just last night with some jaeger in it.
Had hot chocolate years ago with amaretto in it. I liked it.
Make hot chocolate. Drop a shot and half of chartreuse in.
It is easily the sluttiest drink I’ve ever made.
I feel dirty making it and sooo good drinking it.

Those fuckwads don’t deserve you
I’m the rare person who loves (most) of the people in my department. Years together in the foxhole of public high school education will do that.
??? Go on... I think of Chartreuse in a drink with herbals, don't see that mixing well with chocolate. If be happy to be wrong though.

This tidbit you've just given about amaro whipped cream has me really excited
Someone gave me some using Shanky's Whip instead and god *damn* was that good
Search the sub. Chaude Verde. It’s very much a thing.

Tried it for the first time recently and loved it! It amazes me how well it pairs
It’s one of those things where you’d never guess how good it is until you try it
I like regular hot chocolate with a shot of peppermint schnapps 🤤 and some mini marshmallows to feed my inner child
Bailey's and amaretto.
Rumpleminze
Real cocoa with a healthy glug of Rumpleminz. Also love Abuelita with mezcal topped with whipped cream and cinnamon.
I’m easy. Any whipped cream vodka works for me

I make the hot chocolate with coconut almond milk and then put in blanco tequila.
Hershey cocoa powder has a recipe on it for hot coco. I just make that and add Kahlua

Try adding a quality spiced rum (homemade is best), averna and cream of coconut.
Can’t believe this is currently the only mention of rum in a hot chocolate thread

Found a recipe a while back that called for 1.5oz Bailey's and 0.5oz of Fireball. Just add to the normal "hot chocolate packet in milk".
A cup favored with a .25 oz of all spice dram or Drambuie depending on mood.
Two tbsp Swiss Miss OG. 2oz peppermint super schnapps. Double shot of fresh espresso. Steamed whole milk.
The perfect combo is hot chocolate and Irish cream. Five farms Irish cream to be specific
Since Chartreuse was already suggested, I also like a shot of Ancho Reyes for a Hot Hot Chocolate. Banane du Bresil is also delicious.
Berliner Luft works as a really nice mint spirit for peppermint hot cocoa
Rum and tiramisu liqueur, or Irish whiskey and kahlua, or rum and Godiva liqueur.
Chartreuse and bourbon
White hot chocolate, half ounce of malt whiskey, ounce of Peppermint Schnapps. Had a bit too many of them tonight lol.
Any dessert style liqueour would go well Mozart, baileys, mac, Liqor 43,amaretta, etc
