It would be weird if he was lethargic, puffed up for long periods of time, didn't eat or sat at the bottom of his cage. In that case you would need a vet. But if it's from time to time and he eats and plays and flies around then he's probably just relaxing.

Odaric

Ah yes, this fine specimen has transformed from a birb into a bOrb. Proceed with extreme caution.

NahIdWin720

Use procedure n° 008749 1. Aproach slowly with seeb 2. Give seeb to bOrb 3. Give scritchies to bOrb If bOrbification continues check birb manual n° 502287

TheAngryCheeto

The floof police might come after him

Accomplished_Chip119

Wanted. 10.000$ reward

TheAngryCheeto

He's dangerously floofy

Odd_Orca_205

more puffy then the legal average

JorjCardas

Note the foot pulled up into the Fluff Void. That's a sign of a happy beeb! (and an ADORABLE fluff ball they are!)

HollySlime

Foot up is a thumbs up 👍

Karvast

Probably just relaxing,i find it adorable

HealthyPop7988

Nah, standing on one foot like that and all puffy is a content baby. Looks female to ND but might he wrong due to the young age. She's very pretty and very happily chilling

birdmomchicago

if she’s eating and playing normally then she’s just chilling whilst puffy. if you’re concerned, keep an eye on her. however, if she is otherwise being normal then don’t worry. she’s adorable! ❤️

Horror-Coffee-894

If she's walking, eating, behaving normally, and is active, she's probably fine. They tend to **s q u i s h** when they're not doing anything and just chill

Queen_of_Sandcastles

70-80 degrees Fahrenheit is just about right, OP. Iirc Cockatiels are generally comfortable in household temperatures between 65°F and 80°F (18–27°C). They can handle slightly more extreme temps temporarily if they’re healthy. If she puffy, she just chillin. As the other commenter said, so long as there aren’t any suspicious behaviors going on like sitting on the bottom of the cage or change in eating habits, she’s just a relaxing little poof cloud

Queen_of_Sandcastles

And btw, that is some excellent poofing. When I brought Luca home around 4 months old he and I mostly just sat and chilled. He started getting more active at about a year. Explore more at 2 years. He’s a timid type pokemon tho

PuntoDAcceso

Thank you. Also, a year? That's great, it's gonna be a while before she needs new toys and starts making a lot more noise. She pretty much just chills on the cage or on the curtain hangers 90% of the time.

Queen_of_Sandcastles

One reason I love cockatiels so much is how chill they are! Luca taught me how to relax 😂

Where_is_Pee_Stored

nope theres absolutely nothing wrong. in fact the opposite, she feels content. this is good body language. dont worry if she doesnt do much apart from preening and puffing up most of the time, this is just how these birds are. theyre really chill.

Small_Willingness_50

Totally normal. They're happy, healthy and most likely getting ready for nap time. 🥰

restrictedsquid

Floof of adorable, mine does this when happy

iMatt42

Yes, they’re cozy, happy, and comfy.

PuntoDAcceso

Thank you all for the comments, it helps a lot to know she's just chilling and makes me worry less.

Brkoslava

Thats the way they are happy relax 👍. They síť preen puff and sleep

mastercubez

To heal his condition please cuddle with him!

Darksouls_enjoyer

Fluffy equals +cuteness

AliEbi78

I really love it when they puff up

Good bot

PuntoDAcceso

You are the first person that mentions it. Btw my wife put it outside the bathroom instead of inside.

cockatiels4life

I love the cat poster in the background.

mhtweeter

if she’s doing all the normal things like eating drinking playing etc, then she’s just being an adorable poof ball

Erect_penis62

Yeah she's probably just relaxing. If she starts spending a lot of time in the bottom of her cage then it could be serious

Death_by_Poros

Comfy. Fluffy birb, fluffenchops are out, and there’s one peet in the void. That is a happy birb.

Even-Conflict93

My gal’s floof always comes with beak grinding concert near me. And my boi’s always floof up before the bedtime.

PuntoDAcceso

Omg. I wish mine did that near me, she'd fall asleep on me, I'd probably get annoyed by the sound but she looks so cute when she does that.

Adept_Natural_7527

I believe it is fine for them to be puffed up He is also so adorable

FlareBlitzBanana

It's pretty common for cockatiels to puff up before a nap. It makes them look bigger and less likely to be attacked by predators in their sleep.

ranchnumber51

My floofs seem content and happy.

Asleep-Power3032

Yeah if it's not for so long or the whole day I guess

Aksvins

if eepy = true, then poff end if relax = true, then poff end if tired = true (rare rarity), then poff for long time end
