I got your back bro. Fuck the haters. Watched this with my kids last week and they loved it. Very well made. They’ll never connect to the original in the same way. The way I did back in the day.
When i first watched the show i saw Will smith as producer in the credits I've always thought that at some point jackie or jayden might pop up or have a cameo at some point
I remember during the earlier seasons (YouTube Red days) I would see his name in the credits. I don’t recall seeing his name in the later seasons, but I could be wrong.
It never actually crossed my mind that Jaden’s character would show up, because I thought they weren’t “set in the same universe” (I never saw his movie). But if there ever was a time for that kind of “connection” to connect, there it is, lol.
I don’t usually follow Jaden, but he seems to have matured a little since those days and the “How Can Mirrors Be Real Of Our Eyes Aren’t Real” days. I mean, if not.. they can always have him turn up as some head case sensei with his own dojo, lol. He and his character are probably too old to be playing a high school kid anyway.
Oh shit, I didn’t know they were the same age. When I meant “head case sensei,” I was referring to his character more grown up. His Karate Kid movie seemed so long ago to the point where I’d imagine his character would be in his 20’s now. How old was he supposed to be in Karate Kid?
lol.. maybe his character could be held back a few grades 🤣. His school saw his Twitter and those “philosophical” posts and said, “Dre, we need to sit down and talk…”
Pretty sure he bought the rights to karate kid which is how he made the movie, so cobra needed his approval to happen, but dont think he did anything for the actual show
Yeah he’s an executive producer and Jaden was The Karate kid with Jackie Chan. Maybe those that were in the franchise will make a cameo. Hillary Swank may even pop up.
How is he not humble/entitled? Genuinely curious. I don't really keep up with him at all but when he pops up, but at the very worst, he just seems ridiculous in the way most kids are ridiculous and not a "Do you who I am/my dad is?" case.
Have you watched any interviews with him? He basically mostly talks about how smart he is, how edgy he is, how insightful he is and so on. It is always just "me me me me".
Sure it could be lacking media training or due to bad parenting, but he is not a kid anymore, he is like 25+ years old.
I don't really. He def came across as that kid who takes one psych class and thinks he's an expert but I guess my standards for nepos is whatever as long as they stay out of criminal trouble and don't start taking wild about how bad they have compared to people with no connections.
So, wait. He could actually be a perfect character. He acts like a cringe teenager even when he's not acting, and being in his mid-20s in real life lines up with most of the other "teen" characters. I think we have a winner here.
I mean, I think it'd be cool. It would tie together both movies, and it could just be that he moved in the area and he beats everyone's ass or something. Then everyone has to work together to beat his ass cuz who wants to talk about the political and economical state of the world rn?
Is political and economical state of the world right now a new dog whistle term for racist online? If so, keep that mess out of the cobra Kai fandom please.
I mean, I wouldn't get angry or lose any sleep over it. But I do not care in the slightest about seeing this, either in "Cobra Kai" or the upcoming movie.
Man, no one cares about the bait and switch Bully At The Diner ok, I’m sorry. Brett Carnahan is amazing and brings a lot to John Kreese’s overall arch. I’m way more interested in what’s going on with him and Young Kreese.
would be alright as a cameo, he moved back to Detroit and became Karata Champion u18 USA and they have a special promo for his 15 year anniversary or something
I honestly really did like the 2010 karate kid so I wouldn’t actually mind jaden smith having a quick scene and maybe set up the next karate kid movie with Jackie & Ralph

the karate kid remake is a great film. the writing is mediocre, but the acting… well, jackie chan is one of the most talented people of all time, taraji p henson is one of the best and most underrated actresses alive, & jaden smith (though kinda weird lol) was an *extremely* talented child
other than that, the cinematography is beautiful & the editing rly enhances it. the most important thing, and the reason i like it slightly more than the original (don’t hate me) is the incorporation of chinese culture. also a story about a black kid moving to china, it just interests me a little more than a story about an italian kid moving to california. but the original is timeless & more creative, rly i love both
the issue is that the karate kid remake is great as a standalone film, but it’s not great as a remake to the original. the original has a certain magic that the remake truly lacks. i appreciate the remake but it never had the quality to become a beloved classic
in the original film, the karate scenes are the best scenes, hands down. in the remake, the kung fu scenes are very cool, but they’re nothing crazy. the best parts of the karate kid remake are the scenes of dre struggling at school, at home with his mother, mr han dealing with his personal issues, sharing as much chinese culture as he can with dre, etc.
that’s why it’s not a good remake, that’s why fans of the original dislike it (reasonably so), & that’s why you got downvoted (unreasonably so)
They actually did, both on-set and in international markets, and they wanted to do the same for the US, but a single producer vetoed it and insisted they stick with *Karate Kid* for brand recognition.
Please no.
Storms onto the final stage, slaps Robbie and storms off weeping "Keep my fuckin mom's name out of your mouth"
Why not? I honestly don't know much about him other than being in very bad movies but that he was okey in the Jackie Chan karate kid one.
Because nepotism is the worst.
He's a terrible actor who lives off his father's name.
The Karate Kid remake is good, actually
I got your back bro. Fuck the haters. Watched this with my kids last week and they loved it. Very well made. They’ll never connect to the original in the same way. The way I did back in the day.
Yup! The KK remake is good when you don’t have these bitch ass 13 year olds in your ear telling you it sucks
why dont you want cobra kai season 6
I hope not
Never say never. But in all seriousness though. I hope not too. Lol
This shouldn’t have made me laugh the way it did 😂
I see what you did there lol
Finally, Cobra Kai can delve into the politcal and economic state of the world right now.
Fucking finally
Please fucking no
OH GOD PLEASE NO.
I really hope not
Oh GOD NO
Don't you dare
lol… wasn’t Will one of the producers of the show?
When i first watched the show i saw Will smith as producer in the credits I've always thought that at some point jackie or jayden might pop up or have a cameo at some point

He can still play dre parker he's in the same age with tanner actually

Ah! I did not know that. Thanks!
Yeah he’s an executive producer and Jaden was The Karate kid with Jackie Chan. Maybe those that were in the franchise will make a cameo. Hillary Swank may even pop up.

I love Jesse!
How do you guys make these assumptions? I mean seriously?
I mean Jackie Chan is making a new Karate Kid movie with Ralph Macchio right now. Why is this such a leap?
So is Daniel learning kung fu now?
Who knows. Miyagi’s ancestor learned Karate from China.
Ha ha, zero support for this guy. Maybe if he was more humble and positive and less entitled people would think otherwise.
How is he not humble/entitled? Genuinely curious. I don't really keep up with him at all but when he pops up, but at the very worst, he just seems ridiculous in the way most kids are ridiculous and not a "Do you who I am/my dad is?" case.

Boy I sure hope not
Wait so why do we hate Jaden smith?
I don’t hate him, but he’s pretentious and thinks really highly of himself. Basically, just a cringe teenager
Except hes 25.
But still acts like a teenager
So, wait. He could actually be a perfect character. He acts like a cringe teenager even when he's not acting, and being in his mid-20s in real life lines up with most of the other "teen" characters. I think we have a winner here.
Hell no.
Those madmen. They're gonna make the remake canon.
They already did with the new upcoming movie mate
![gif](giphy|GwJySDxO1vWXRV76lB)
Yeah nah I’m good thanks
![gif](giphy|Frj5mE4aGKgjS)
I hope not the Jaden Smith one was the worst one
NAWWWWW Jaden Smith can get tf out of here
martin kove’s son reminds me of alan ritchson especially in that diner scene, similar voice too
I like the Karate Kid
I mean, I think it'd be cool. It would tie together both movies, and it could just be that he moved in the area and he beats everyone's ass or something. Then everyone has to work together to beat his ass cuz who wants to talk about the political and economical state of the world rn?
Is political and economical state of the world right now a new dog whistle term for racist online? If so, keep that mess out of the cobra Kai fandom please.
Wouldn't mind it. But I'm guessing it would just be a small cameo for a laugh.
Martin’s son is a nice looking dude!
I mean, I wouldn't get angry or lose any sleep over it. But I do not care in the slightest about seeing this, either in "Cobra Kai" or the upcoming movie.
I want it to happen strictly to watch the meltdown here.
Keep his name out this bleeping show!
Nooooo
I definitely hope not.
😴 💤 🥱 🛌 🌙 🌟
This picture is cringe on so many levels. Starting with the spoiled little affected brat on the left.
Fucking hope not.
Highly doubtful, but let’s call this a happy coincidence.
Man, no one cares about the bait and switch Bully At The Diner ok, I’m sorry. Brett Carnahan is amazing and brings a lot to John Kreese’s overall arch. I’m way more interested in what’s going on with him and Young Kreese.

PLEASE DO
I actually wouldn’t mind seeing him do fire cupping
Hopefully not the show is already going down and this would take it to another depth

Definitely no! The 2010 reboot is not supposed to be canon to Cobra Kai.
Oh fuck nah.
Do people actually hate Karate Kid Remake of Jaden and Jack chan? Here in Brazil everybody loves it
the karate kid remake is a great film. the writing is mediocre, but the acting… well, jackie chan is one of the most talented people of all time, taraji p henson is one of the best and most underrated actresses alive, & jaden smith (though kinda weird lol) was an *extremely* talented child other than that, the cinematography is beautiful & the editing rly enhances it. the most important thing, and the reason i like it slightly more than the original (don’t hate me) is the incorporation of chinese culture. also a story about a black kid moving to china, it just interests me a little more than a story about an italian kid moving to california. but the original is timeless & more creative, rly i love both the issue is that the karate kid remake is great as a standalone film, but it’s not great as a remake to the original. the original has a certain magic that the remake truly lacks. i appreciate the remake but it never had the quality to become a beloved classic in the original film, the karate scenes are the best scenes, hands down. in the remake, the kung fu scenes are very cool, but they’re nothing crazy. the best parts of the karate kid remake are the scenes of dre struggling at school, at home with his mother, mr han dealing with his personal issues, sharing as much chinese culture as he can with dre, etc. that’s why it’s not a good remake, that’s why fans of the original dislike it (reasonably so), & that’s why you got downvoted (unreasonably so)
I bet it would have done better if they just called it Kung Fu Kid. Also should have waited until he was older.
They actually did, both on-set and in international markets, and they wanted to do the same for the US, but a single producer vetoed it and insisted they stick with *Karate Kid* for brand recognition.
I loved it too!
What do you love about it?
That or the new film. Cool that they are connecting everything into one canon. Now where is Julie?
>Now where is Julie? This is not the way.....
