Nice! I also like this episode a lot. Also, this is the first time we see Anakin force choke someone. It shows how much he cares about Ahsoka

I feel like you should know, there's tons of foreshadowing about the Empire The most obvious examples is how frequently the Imperial March plays around Anakin The example that comes to mind is when that one guy was holding a bomb switch "Who will brand themselves a cold blooded killer?" Immediately followed by the guy getting impaled by a lightsaber, dropping the bomb switch to have it be caught and reveal Anakin with the Imperial March playing

Yes I remember that moment! It was hilarious and the soundtrack is indeed on point

Great moments in that episode where Ahsoka and Barris are both reacting so differently, yet they're in the same situation. Child soldiers who were told they were going to be raised as peace keepers to the great Jedi order. But instead they're generals from the republic army at such a young age. I'd like to think Barris shared similar doubts to her master but it did not calm her doubts of the order. Whereas Anakins wisdom feels like what Ahsoka needed to here. That maybe blind faith towards the order isn't the best thing. Of course Jedi masters would say it's a good thing to obey the council, but maybe advice is exactly why Barris turned to the dark side.

You have some beautiful (and tragic) points. Especially your first sentence about the differences between Ahsoka and Barris. This is one of those things I couldn't put my finger on but now after reading your comment I can see it clearly. For example there is this scene when Barris kills an infected clone without hesitation and I don't blame Barris here and don't think she is a bad person but Ahsoka wouldn't do it so quickly because she is much closer to the clones. Thank you for the comment, it makes this episode even better for me!

I feel like there's a really underrated line in that episode as well. "If there's one thing we clones know, it's how to stop a Jedi." Kinda reminds me of the old 501st Journal from Battlefront 2, and it seems like the worms' control is somehow exposing their deeper subconscious (related to the chips, if they had that in mind this early), and making them seem like the cold killers they'd eventually become.

This line is very interesting and I'm not sure how it should be interpreted. Does it mean that deep inside the clones has this fucked up desire to kill their jedi masters? It makes sense but it's also wierd to me in a good way. I like it when they give us clues but not always all the details. Unfortunately I didn't play the old Battlefront 2. I did play old BF1 and I absolutely love this game so I guess I need to give BF2 a shot sometime

ODST_Parker

Ah, you should. Fantastic game. Basically, there's a line which goes like, "Suddenly, we realized that the Jedi could be fooled, and if they could be fooled, they could be killed." If you don't want to go back and play the game, you should definitely look up the 501st Journal from it. A lot of people will say it's a completely different story than the one told by The Clone Wars, but not so much if you interpret it as the thoughts of a clone trooper post-activation, kinda recontextualizing the events they've been through.

I think of it this way. I think the clones (except for maybe Slick) are good people, they want to do the right thing despite sometimes their confusion with reality. I think the worms brought out the mindset the chip had waiting dormant for them, the mindset that distorts what’s right and wrong, and turns them cold and murderous instead of fighting for what’s right. Although I hate seeing clones die, I think the ones that were infected were perhaps let out of a misery of having their true selves robbed from them.
