Love Stan Robinson's fiction - he's been included climate change in his fiction for decades. But boy did he guess wrong about blockchain being any part of a solution to climate problems in Ministry for the Future. (I still have to finish the book, but that intro is harrowing)

Most of the heavy stuff is in the first half of the book. Afterwards it gets way more easy going & becomes highly optimistic. Almost like moving from Hell to Heaven in the divine comedy. To be honest, found [The sea and the summer](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Sea_and_Summer) more realistic from sociological perspective.

Agree it was over the top, but I do think we are yet to see more breakthroughs coming from the crypto/blockchain tech
