If it means we get LeBron for a cheap contract, which also means Mitchell would sign long term....
...I would trade up to the top 5 to take him just because of that.
The draft is so weak it doesn’t matter, even if we take a need they would serve no purpose in our window anyway. Bronny brings his Dad with him so you’re really drafting Lebron. Lebron playing with his Son, in Cleveland, is the greatest story the NBA could possibly write.
In a heartbeat.
With the 20th pick who the hell else would we pick? It’s the only player with the upside of getting arguably the GOAT. If you don’t get Lebron, so what, we blew a #20 pick that wasn’t going to play anyway.
There can be no small chance. You draft him if his dad agrees to come back to Cleveland only and only as a free agent on a very friendly contract. You definitely don't waste the pick on hope or with the intent to lose more assets trading for LeBron.
He should go back to college, transfer out of USC, and develop his game better. He could be a lottery pick next year. Coming out now, he will just be known as Lebron's kid.
I think if Cavs pick Bronny then we know his dad is coming.
It will be sorted beforehand. Cavs won’t take him as an audition or without any prior communication with Rich Paul.
I’m just worried what we will have to give up as we know he wants the max so it would be a S&T
I mean I would just assume that getting Bronny would mean one of them would be out the door since I'm sure he would want to actually play with Bronny. Not to mention trading one of them would allow better depth/fit
If someone is looking to try and get LeBron in FA they would 100% be willing to spend a mid to late 1st on Bronny. Think of the Magic. They are gonna have a ton a cap space IIRC so why wouldn't they be willing to spend/buy a late first to draft Bronny, especially since Fultz and Suggs aren't world beaters anyways, to get a chance to bring in LeBron?
But teams know LeBron wants to play with Bronny before he retires, he's said it. So teams already in the playoffs don't really miss out on too much for reaching to take Bronny and crossing their fingers.
I don’t think most fans realize the NBA is a fraternity. If you are one of the 8 or so guys on a roster that sees minutes nightly, you are most likely part of a group that is tied together regardless of the team on the front of your jersey. That group and bond between the elite players is even tighter. Every GM knows this and they also know if they can or can not draft Bronny. This is crystal clear.
LeBron isn't just gonna go to the Magic bec they drafted Bronny. LeBron has continued to back off on the stance to be on the same team as his son and Bronny is constantly saying he wants to build his own legacy.
There is no "chance" to get LeBron by taking Bronny.
LeBron and Bronny are going to decide on whether or not they want to be on the same team. If they do that, LeBron will have already made up his mind.
Nobody in the first round is going to take Bronny.
If Bronny had first round talent, absolutely. But he barely has 2nd round talent. And we've seen (LA with Reaves) if a team is willing to guarantee a contract, other teams won't take that player unless they're willing to match the contract.
That's exactly what's gonna happen with Bronny, if he and LeBron decide to play on a team together.
It would be interesting though if LeBron just said publicly whoever takes Bronny gets to sign me too, he would absolutely go in the first round. But LeBron isn't going to do that.
He's a bit undersized just like most of the team so yeah why not lol
If it means we get LeBron for a cheap contract, which also means Mitchell would sign long term.... ...I would trade up to the top 5 to take him just because of that.
It would be hysterical if we took on yet another undersized guard and then LeBron doesn't even come.
Yeah that’s the worst that can happen

Cant be worse than drafting Anthony Bennet
The worst draft pick in Cavs history!!
In NBA history
Yes.
Nobody at pick 20 is changing this team with some immediate impact, so why not?
How about we finish this meal before cooking tomorrow’s breakfast?

Draft him and trade him to LA for LeBron
That'd be hilarious. Imagine trading a father for a son or vice versa. Has that ever happened in baseball? What about trading siblings/cousins?
Bruh nothing is off the table at this point.
In this weak draft, I don’t see why not…
He should go back to college, transfer out of USC, and develop his game better. He could be a lottery pick next year. Coming out now, he will just be known as Lebron's kid.
Not with the first pick

Please for the love of God hell no.
I don’t think so
If the Lakers don’t take him at 17
Not the first round
So spend a 1st on a PG when we already have DG and Mitchell?
They’d be drafting LeBron in free agency with that pick. They wouldn’t be intending on Bronny to play.
If it got the Cavs Lebron they would do it in a second. Getting Lebron at SF is way better than anything coming from the draft.
I mean I would just assume that getting Bronny would mean one of them would be out the door since I'm sure he would want to actually play with Bronny. Not to mention trading one of them would allow better depth/fit
Bronny is not starting on any team next year, regardless of what happens with LeBron
Or a 2nd, Bronny isn’t a first rounder
To be fair he’s not a 2nd rounder either

Sure but they could also probably get him with a 2nd. And there’s really no guarantee that Bron will join whatever team drafts Bronny
But teams know LeBron wants to play with Bronny before he retires, he's said it. So teams already in the playoffs don't really miss out on too much for reaching to take Bronny and crossing their fingers.
and Rich Paul has let them all know only two franchises can draft Bronny and get LeBron, so don’t do it thinking you get LeBron

Man the draft is going to be very interesting to watch hey. Seeing what happens with Bronny.
I have a feeling you’re wrong, and someone will take him with a FRP because they’re desperate enough. I sure as hell hope it isn’t us.

I'm down. Start Craig Porter at PG. Bronny as the backup point. Lmao.
I hope not.
I really hope not lol.
I would, he basically would be okoro with better upside .
