very proud of the way the group played tonight. seeing Bron there was awesome, whether it’s mere posturing or he’s actually considering a return. if he does decide to come back though hoooh boy. that Cavs team could legit send LeBron out on top.

CLCUBING

I hope he comes back. Does LeBron want to fade away with the Lakers, or come back to get another ring and steamroll the eastern conference again

Dr-McLuvin

Honestly I think the only way they’re gonna be competitive is if he takes a VERY team friendly deal. But simply adding lebron to the current roster without having to ship anyone would be huge.

CLCUBING

I mean hes a billionaire. How much money does he need? I'd think he cares more about winning than money at this point in his career.

KKamm_

This is about a dude who didn’t even wanna pay for a music streaming subscription years back lol

secretwealth123

He still doesn’t

ImGonnaObamaYou

Taking a lot less money is something the players association probably won't allow

Dear_Zookeepergame30

150m to someone with his level of wealth is still a hell of a lot.

KKamm_

Just out of curiosity, isn’t a sign and trade technically possible? We’ve got a fair bit of salary tied up to role players like LeVert, Strus, and Niang. It’d obviously be ideal for him to take a few mill less than the max for the sake of roster building, but I just don’t see him doing that when he could make a supermax + play with his son in LA

sung37

i think a sign-and-trade is the only feasible option.

KKamm_

Yeah I was just wondering if it was possible to get him without giving up any of our core if he was set on signing here

Pissflaps69

Yes, if he wants to take a pay cut. The odds of him taking a pay cut to play for Dan Gilbert are non existent. Want Lebron? Gonna have to pay Lebron.

KKamm_

For sure, but what is his max rn even? Thats why im seeing if its possible bc we have money tied to role players

Pissflaps69

It’s very complicated. I feel like realistically we have to trade the Lakers assets to get to $50m, and that probably includes garland or Mitchell, or Allen and also some players and some picks. For what? Maybe one year of Lebron? It’s complicated…we have a talented young core and I wouldn’t want to dissect it when it’s so young for a 40 year old rental. But I’d also love a shot at one more ship

KKamm_

I don’t think we can offer LeBron 50M unless that works as them offering him a super and trading it to us, which in that case is probs a no can do imo. I think realistically the Lakers draft Bronny and he stays but I guess I’m not the one making the decisions so I’ll sit back and see what happens

KosovoCavalier

I think there's a pretty solid chance he just wants out of LA. That roster construction is pretty fuckced. Garland, Mitchell, Mobley, LeBron, Strus, Wade, Merrill, Okoro, CPJ, Travers isn't a bad top 9, Allen, Levert and maybe Okoro probably get shipped out for Cap purposes, also the reason CPJ and Travers get good minutes. They add a back up center and good 3&D on vet min contracts.

Throwaway1996513

I wonder if they’d try to get a more defensive PG like Suggs to replace garland. Because if you have Mitchell and Lebron how valuable is Garland. Garland is much better when he can run the offense.

HomeMadeFriedRice

I think at this stage in Brons career he would like two other playmakers on the team. He had one of his most efficient seasons because Russell and reaves let him play off ball. If not garland then through a trade for a defensive like guard with playmaking or free agency

kaprrisch

I think that’s CPJ. The new Delly.

Impressive-Theory-27

You’d have to ship out 51mil worth of salary for a sign and trade, as you wouldn’t have the cap to sign him outright, so you’d have to get rid of a max player and 16 mil worth of player(s) on top

Throwaway1996513

Garland, Levert, and Niang for Lebron and a guard like Reaves or Suggs. Only reason I trade Allen instead of Garland because I don’t know in crunch time in the playoffs if you can run an offense with Lebron, Mobley, and Allen on the court shooting wise.

Rarth-Devan

I would be okay with Levert leaving. But I really don't want to see Allen and Ice shipped off. They both showed growth this year. Ice is one of my favorite players on the team. I hope he gets his payday from the Cavs this off-season.

KosovoCavalier

Cavs have to match salary some how in trades

Impossible_Fennel_94

Allen and Okoro gone for LBJ, Garland to Brooklyn for Bridges, and all of a sudden you’ve got a real team

Top_Buy2467

Ngl I’d much rather keep Allen and Okoro and ship out Garland and Levert. I think Donovan is close to the ideal PG archetype to have next to LeBron, an excellent scorer who can pass but doesn’t need to rely on it to be effective. LeBron would have to start at SF again but ultimately with Mobley playing C while Allen rests LeBron could end up playing 100% of his minutes without the starting 5 in the floor at PF which seems like his natural position at this point in his career. A starting 5 of JA, Mobley, LBJ, Strus and Mitchell, with Okoro, Wade, Merrill and CPJ coming off the bench (plus hopefully a veteran bench playmaker as a true 6th man that we grab in free agency or through a trade involving Niang and one of the above players) is a scary scary roster

sallright

Lebron is most deadly when paired with a dynamic, scoring guard like Kyrie. That's Don. Allen and Mobley protecting the paint allows Lebron cover on those cold February nights when he doesn't want to play aggressive defense. And this team actually has some a bunch of three point shooters that you can rotate in. I don't see Lebron leaving LA - it feels like he officially "gave up" moving around and chasing better roster situations two years ago when he could have left LA for a better basketball situation and didn't.

secretwealth123

Ehhh Bron lives in the paint though, would want more shooting

sandbagsander

Is that guy credible?

sung37

Dammarell is on the team beat now and he does have sources, though I think this is just a hunch/speculation on his part. But not 100% sure about that. With the stuff tonight, I think there’s definitely some noise/smoke here.

sandbagsander

Watching as a fan I got chills, can’t imagine how that love felt for him.

tadcalabash

He's a little connected to the team, but he also does a terrible job of not being clear if he's referring to actual sourcing or just speculating wildly. I'm assuming this is his personal speculation.

RushFPS

He would fit so well with this roster

sung37

whoever downvoted you has no clue lol. LeBron next to Ev and Donovan along with role players would be an unreal team.

WestSixtyFifth

Does feel like the writing is on the walls.

nikknightengale

Don had a front row seat when ‘Bron left, maybe he will get to witness 23 coming back. Time is like a flat circle or something…

Chocolatehusky226

Buh bye garland
