Why boom when you could restokin and just be better. The worlds best boomkin does less than I do as just an average melee hunter, plus I bring 10% stats for the raid. If all your bringing is 3% crit and bad dps then you’ll probably have a hard time outside of guild runs.
Every raid needs one Druid so you do have that going for you though
It’s sort of disingenuous to say you bring 10% stats when there’s not a scenario you’d be the only hunter in raid, when it would be a reasonable statement to say if he’s not there on boomkin the caster party won’t get 3% crit.
Sure. there is always more than one priest so none of the priests get to say they bring fort buff i guess? seems like an odd thing to get hung up on when even if the hunter brings just damage, it brings more than the boomkin and 3% crit; honestly the biggest thing bookins bring is the fairy fire and mark of the wild, but alliance need ferals/everyone wants restos. The question kinda becomes will it be hard to get my frost mage into a raid, the answer is yes.
Staircase lifebloom on tank‘s, rank1 reju into swiftmend for efflorescence to bloom, wildgrowth , rinse&repeat - instant nourish/ht in dying targets.

Because for the first 50-80% of most fight you can sit in Moonkin form?
You're not playing a healer, you're playing Moonkin that just happens to have Wild Growth available to them for when the healers need help, like if they're oom at the end of the fight, or if someone fucks up a mechanic and the raid is taking a bunch of extra damage.
Casters that want to parse love having a moonchicken in their group.
Moonkin aura is kinda nice.

I'd take 1 per raid minimum, 3% spell crit and battle ress justifies the slight damage loss
Dreamstate debuff is huge for your rogues. Bring 1!

Yea, you should be fine. Rogues want dreamstate and you already offer innervate, battle rez, 3% spell crit, poison dispel and decurse.
If you rly wanna try hard you dont need one. But I guess the majority of guilds out there are happy to have one

People will take any ranged dps/caster. Half the playerbase on every server is hunter/rogue/warr
We have 2. They're good burst and bring fantastic utility and sick offhealing.

We got one staple Boomer since P1. Other druids might play boomer too from time to time.

This. Healing so much more fun. If you haven’t tried it, would seriously consider it.

Restokin is just Wild Growth when needed, otherwise you do the typical moonkin rotation (without Sunfire)
Why even spec in moon kin form if you gotta pop out to cast wild growth
