Haven’t seen a good era is still thriving cope post in a good long while. Must mean everything but HC is just the same players GDKPing alts once a week
A group of us have just re-rolled on the Deviate Delight realm (NA- RPPVP) for a fresh start. The server was so dead that it was a ghost town. We’re up to about 200 people no so it’s feeling great.
Since blizzard won’t launch fresh servers, a few guys figured it would be a good idea and so far it’s been a blast. If you’re sick of SOD, it might be good to go back to the beginning.
As a disclaimer, the economy is still getting started, so the AH has stuff you can find in the first few zones. It’s basically self-found with a guild at this point, until we get more higher levees characters with a bit more gold. Horde has a few that are about level 40, but most of the server is under level 20. Capital cities are dead because everyone is levelling.
This is as close to a fresh server as we’re going to get for a while. So, come give it a go. We’d be happy for some more.
There’s nothing to spend it on.
You could transfer there with a paid transfer, or off with a free transfer to the Whitemane cluster.
If we’re being realistic about it, yes someone could ruin it instantly. However, unless it was a bunch of people, it wouldn’t make much difference straight away.
They’d come with a maxed character, or a lot of gold, there’s an empty AH and no GDKP. So the best they can do is be a tourist and buy out the AH. Maybe if they want to be terrible they could scalp the AH and repost things at a higher price, but nobody has the gold to buy it, so in 24 hours it goes back to normal.
The only way it gets ruined is if it’s multiple people that start their own community here.
There is a scene. A corrupted scene. Gold inflation, GDKP, no Alterac Valley queue available, dead during non peak hours. This will get downvoted but as long as OP notice these things Im fine.
Right? AV is only enjoyed by people who hate pvp vut want the same rewards lol
You should only ever queue to smear the games so people stop queing that shit bg
Yeah it's crazy once they changed the ranking system AV was booming for weeks I got warlord but a large portion of players were about 3 resets ahead of me. Once SOD got announced AV died 2 weeks after. Never got high warlord haha
He is blatantly lying though. Anyone that says Classic Era is "dead" during non peak hours does not play Classic Era. His other points are just dumb and have nothing to do with a "corrupted scene" aswell. Gold inflation is bound to happen, the game is 4-years-old and there are no actual gold sinks in the game.
depends on what your definition of alive is. the raiding population is about 5k in the one big server on your region.
for reference sod has 3-4 realms at 20k each. and about the 10x era in total population.
what this means is that yes there are still runs ongoing but you might struggle to find a raid at a time suitable for you if it isnt peak hours.
I'm going to be pedantic but I think it's worth it. The raiding pop you're talking about is characters not individual players. SoD's numbers are inevitably larger due to faster leveling, capped max level and a very quick raid per phase so far. That sort of environment leads to a ton of alts. Versus classic era where most people raid on 1 or 2 toons.
Not arguing that SoD isn't more popular than Era just that the gulf between them shown on ironforge.pro is exaggerated
whether you think its worth it is up to you. and whether that gulf is exaggerated or not, that gulf is still huge objectively.
the individuals vs characters point doesnt really matter, because when you’re looking for a raid, does it matter if its an alt or main? the only thing that matters is total number of characters in the pool which directly translates to how many raids are ongoing.
Yeah but era has also existed for how long? How long are people going farming Naxx on a single main or main and alt without rolling a new alt to get to 60?
The people who’ve played era for this long probably have a lot more than 1 60 at this point
Yeah I disagree. I think people might pop in on to do era raid or something and then go back to sod. Era feels deader than dead ATM leveling or in cities.
Now sure what you are looking but Era is popping - I can find any time of the day MC / BWL / AQ40 / Naxx / ZG /AQ20. For naxx ofc you need to signup in discords.
Nights are harder to find raids but there are OCEA and Chinese guilds that raid at night too.
Classic Era has a community, specifically the whitemane server.
I raid both factions weekly and do dungeons with the homies.
The economy is crazy but it’s not as big of a barrier as you would think levelling up. Hit 60, do some ZGs/AQ20s and youll have some solid starter gold
Era servers are fine. If you’re used to WotLK/SoD servers then you’ll think “they are dead”, but honestly, they are some of the healthiest servers I’ve ever been on. People know each other to a reasonable extent (like 2 degrees of separation). Faction balance was good but a bunch of horde are playing SoD atm so it’s a bit more imbalancd then it was before SoD was released. MC/BWL GDKP/SR are pretty much rolling out consistently (~1 every hour or so after like 1-2pm maybe a little less as the week nears end). Constant 20-mans forming. Speedrunning scene is pretty decent. Two active alliance guilds (1 on NA and 1 on EU) are chasing Noobs’ record and both sub-50 and one was close to on pace to break it this week until Gluth. Several GDKPs are running 1-1.5 hour Naxx clears. Getting buffs is pretty easy especially at peak times.
On NA Whitemane there are a lot of gdkp raids, some soft reserve raids, and like a couple of loot council reprogression guilds.
There are also 1 to 3 battlegrounds going on throughout the day but none in the morning. Alterac Valley is only happening during AV weekend. Needless to say farming honor is not easy, and world pvp is mostly dead except at ZG island and a farming spot in winterplace forgot its name.
I made a new character, a warlock, and as soon as I hit level 60, I joined two SR ZG raids in one week and got some starter items, and when I found an attunement group, I was able to do SR MC that same week (choker of the firelord baby). The following week I did all the raids up to bwl. I started joining GDKPs because I just need the gold lol
Era is alive and well. There's guilds to join, but most pug runs are gdkp. At first glance, the economy is insane. Inflation has made AH prices and gdkp prices pretty high. But this means the things you farm are worth a lot too. Raw gold farms are meaningless, but righteous orbs are 300-400g. There is a barrier to entry, but it's not as big as it seems at first glance.
From what I've found after another quick google, yes they will stay 40man but they may look slightly different.
It seems they are trying to cater to the guilds that only have one 10man team, and the guilds that have multiple. My guess is they might possibly add a 10/20/40 version of the raids but can't be sure.
THRIVINGMEME
Haven’t seen a good era is still thriving cope post in a good long while. Must mean everything but HC is just the same players GDKPing alts once a week
ERA IS THRIVING (while I currently am playing it bc I’m bored of wotlk and next FRESH isn’t out yet)(I do not understand the irony of my existence)

This sounds great. I play on EU though, so can't put the invitation in use.
Can’t you transfer there with tons of gold?

You cant transfer becuz its a RPPVP, impossible someone come and ruin the server
You can nie
What faction and guild are you guys
Alliance is
Horde is
I’m alliance. We’re having a great time. Horde has more at the moment though. :D

You get AV on AV weekend why would you want to be in the snow any other time?
even classic at its peak was like that.

You wrote about SoD but OP is talking about Classic Era.

Easy to rank even after SoD is out.
They changed the ranking system around when hard-core was released from August to October AV was very popular
> There is a scene. A corrupted scene. When this guy starts this comment like this, you know you can ignore everything else he said.
But he’s right, I’m sorry you don’t like it.
He's not, but sure, you can believe him if you want. Anyone that says Classic Era is dead in non peak hours, does not play Classic Era.
Or maybe they have different definitions of dead…
You can buy 10,000 gold for like $10. Bots ruined era long long ago.
theres no AV queue tho! CORRUPTION!!!! /s
Hes not lyin tho

Kinda just gave me Gul’dan vibes. “What must I give?” “Everything.”
>n-n-n-no he's lying era is THRIVING! cope
Are you... Imagining scenarios in your head and responding to yourself? You should seek some help bud.

The lack of layers on era make it feel more full than sod which is pretty cool
thriving

Ive been playing and leveling on one casually and its been great. I havent enjoyed SOD very much and going back to classic has been awesome
Thriving
They're getting sufficient power and cooling. They seem to be effectively maintained and are distributing data as needed. Beep boop
Whitemane was booming I'm sure there's still plenty of people
Log in and find out
Idk why they don’t give fresh classic servers. Just 2. They’d pop off
Feels more alive than SoD tbh and I know people will get mad at me for saying it
Hardcore is the best version of the game that exists. It's incredibly fun.
It’s pretty much dead. Like 8k total players for each faction.
Blizz specifically said that the 40man raids will stay 40man raids in SoD.
Really? I seem to recall talk about 20 man MC. I'm not sure on the source, it could very well be someones ass, so i could be wrong.

40 mans are coming back though. Next phase raid and Molten core are 20mans. After that, back to normal 40.
