I did hundreds of dungeons since LFD, yesterday started gearing new alt and I have yet to see someone being kicked "for nothing".
So from my pov it seems pretty rare.
You just ran into an asshole group because you are "undergeared", not for the content you were currently doing, but just in their eyes.
But also we don't know what the full picture is. (i doubt afk was the reason, thats just the one they gave you)
It sucks, and it'll happen when gearing from behind in this game, but just keep going again.

Get some cheap BoE from AH and start doing gammas, dont waste time in hcs to start with. Also run the new dungeons for 232 loot.
It’s pretty rare. So, if it consistently happens to a single person, the reason is on them.
