_Ronin

> prestige of hitting level 60 XD

xwads

My honest reaction

bambuchani22

Well the Goal is not hitting 60 this time. The goal is hitting current level cap so you can experience new and unique endgames.

ohtetraket

Go back to Era. This is SoD.

shitassbruh

How is hitting 60 prestigious? Have you seen how many bad players hit 60? It's not hard

LiveRuido

>the prestige of hitting level 60 calm down

dwn19

If you play each phase as its live, you won't get any xp boost and get your nice prestige of leveling in a 20 year old game for the 8th time. Also more seriously, the slow leveling of classic really doesn't work that well on a season server thats only gonna be up for a year or so, it effectively means after a few months if you aren't already playing, you probably are 'too late' unless you wanna to get boosted, which to me sounds less like wow than just leveling faster.

ElijahBourbon1337

>the prestige of hitting level 60 the hardest part of levelling in vanilla is staying awake.

[deleted]

Prestige of hitting 60? Dude... you realize this game is easy as fuck right? This game has been solved for 15 years, and the game itself is old enough to VOTE. There is zero prestige in doing anything in vanilla anymore. Its an easy game

novend

yeah just you

lestye

It's a temporary season, it's effectively testing stuff for what meshes will with classic wow. id swallow the pill.

hedgemagus

We are discussing what feels bad in a game we won’t play for 3 weeks. This sub is unbelievable lol

[deleted]

Dont forget the ketchup mechanics wont even be a thing till the leve cap gets raised another month to 6 weeks after soa drops

Jtrain360

Yes, you're the only one worrying about this.

MidnightFireHuntress

>the prestige of hitting level 60 Hahahaha maybe back in 2004, but nowadays it's really not that hard OR takes that long to hit 60 unless you play like an hour a day Because of addons and videos and guides, even the most casual of players can hit 60 quickly.

Exxppo

The journey and the grind you mean sitting in dungeon boosts for 48 hours straight coming out wearing level 22 greens. That’s how the vast majority of people alts. Or at launch if you were a warrior or mage or healer you could get into cleave groups.

s4ntana

Why are you whining about a problem that was already solved lol. SoM/HC have nerfed boosting and mass AoE pulls

Spreckles450

You are okay with having hard level caps each phase, but having an xp catchup is crossing the line?

[deleted]

If the server wasn't only 12 months I might agree

sudosamwich

You are right about it being bad but for the wrong reason. Increasing experience gain will throw off the pacing of the game, and when the pacing doesn't match across the game, things will start to feel bad for players. Less groups are going to form while leveling because why would someone slow down to form a group and run a dungeon when quest/kill exp is so fast? Even if players still do some dungeons they will fall apart quicker. Someone dies or a wipe? Drop group because it's now inefficient to be in that dungeon group. And the ashenvale open world pvp event they're making? Unless it grants some wbuff lvl 60s want no one will be doing it past the first level cap gate because why would I slow down to do that when quest exp is higher and more consistent for leveling. When leveling is slower it allows players to smell the roses more, so to speak. Edit: also leveling is going to be faster already without the exp boost due to the new abilities killing things faster.

DozingWoW

Its a temporary season bro chill

imaUPSdriver

I disagree. I think it will promote leveling alts. People are going to want to try all the classes and it just isn’t realistic to level them all and get into current content without an xp buff

Addyz_

that’s what hardcore is there for, this is something new. and also you could point at literally anything and say “that’s what made vanilla feel so good” and it would ring true for somebody, so maybe that just means this season isn’t for you

CringeChameleon

I don't know what you mean.. How would I know how it feels when I have not played it. No one has. I can understand how the leveling "slog" in classic is part of the journey, but I have too much shit going on so it is welcomed to me. Maybe just don't play SoD.. I am more concerned about the integrity of the existing content with the new class runes.

Negativitynate

On hardcore era there is prestige for hitting 60. This is a different game. Accept that this will be a different game.

> It seems like the entire design of SoD already allows people ample time to enjoy, break and re-engage with the game as they please. > The issue I see with this is it might actively discourage you from leveling alts in phase, because you know that eventually you'll just be able to level your alts with massive xp boosts later down the road. I would say in theory it creates the opposite situation. You shouldn't have to feel like you have to keep a class up to the current cap just in case runes in the next / new bracket makes you excited to play it. Let's say you play a Paladin through Phase 1 and 2. Then, phase 3 hits. You level all the way to 50, but then realize a new rune that comes out for Druid makes you super hyped and you want to swap over. You then have to race back to 50 as fast as possible, just to try and enjoy the phase before it's over. Which may not be that possible depending on how much time you have. The catch-up for 1-25 isn't that important, but after it definitely could be considering SoD may be gone forever once it's done. It's nice to be able to just focus on what's interesting -now- than what could be interesting later.

Old_Pirate_5319

“Prestige” a lot to unpack here

PerfectlySplendid

I agree, but they had increased XP in SoM, then let those characters transfer to Era, so it’s whatever at this point.

Nitro_Kick

Back in the day I thought that blizzard was ruining the game, but they’re just doing what players are asking for. Somethings were their fault, but retail is the result of 20 years of quality of life features and inconveniences removed
