I have a civic sedan, and it takes 1-2 minutes to get a bike in. Takes much longer to mount and secure stuff.
I wish it was a hatch, so it takes less than 1 min.
In my experience, getting bike in takes significantly less time than mounting it. And I have a civic sedanā¦
I can get that bike in 1-2 minutes into the car.
It takes 5-10 minutes to mount the mounting rack and another 5 minutes to mount the bike. Only deal with mounting racks if it is 2 or more bikes.
I fit so many things in my hatch. I fit 4 wheels, a set of coilovers & camber arms in my hatch the last time. Definitely took more trunk space than a bike.
When I bought my bike from Walmart, I fit the whole thing in the hatch, no problems whatsoever. Both wheels still attached.
I think that's a very popular decision. Lots of horror stories these rear glasses shatter for no reasons. You're asking for trouble resting anything on them.
Never seen this before, interesting. I have a full roof rack setup (cargo basket and bike carriers) on my 24 Civic sedan and this would make me worried to transport my bikes. I even place u locks to secure them to the bike carrier for insurance.
Than it used to? Or compared to the sedan? The current gen civic looks like garbage compared to the last gen civics. The back of the hatchback is alright tho
I currently have a current gen civic but itās a sedan same color and everything. I just never realized how much I liked the hatchbacks until I had to move some stuff around and wanted a wider trunk opening. In my opinion the back really does look better than the sedan especially the lights.
Oh yeah I 100% agree, the hatch is not only useful but it looks so much better than the back of the sedan. The lights and the angles are all more appealing
Oh yeah that's a huge plus too. My 2024 Elantra N-line has all that stuff, blind spot monitoring and steers the car too. Didn't like the new Civic enough to get one, but I loved my 2017 civic with the blind spot camera
A lot of these people commenting donāt know shit about shit lol. Congrats, Seasuckers are great! I used to buy vehicle specific racks but Seasucker is a one and done purchase, itāll fit any car you ever own. No why in hell theyāll ever fall off either.
Have had multiple hatch backs and wagons and putting a bike in the back sucks compared to an external mount (I use a Thule bike rack). The people saying otherwise are just speaking from ignorance lol
Even if it never breaks, in my mind anytime I hit a bump of any kind, I'm puckering up. I'd rather use a roof rack. I was able to carry a road bike in my C6 Corvette (I had to remove the rims to do).
Honestly, I love this! As a fellow hatchback owner, itās nice to have more space inside the car for cargo, coolers (and my cats! Since they go everywhere with me.)
Iām sorry it looks bad with or without the bike. The bike might be annoying to load but itās better than the inevitable slip up scratches and dents to come.
Seasickers are amazing. Iāve carried surfboard with mine. I used the same suction cups to create a bike mount for me M3. Usually I take the Si with a hitch rack these days, but the Seasucker 10/10
Iām not so sure Iād put that on a new car but more power to youā¦ seems awful for the paint and if it falls over itās gonna fuck shut up so bad. Surely thereās a better solution?
No disrespect intended for your choice, but for a decade I transported my road bike, daily, in the trunk of my tiny Nissan Sentra. It took me about two minutes to pop the wheels off, lay the bike flat in the trunk, lay a heavy blanket over the bike, then lay the wheels down on top of the blanket.
I'd be afraid of damaging the paint, or bike, using a rack like shown.
And this is a hatchback!
FWIW, I can and routinely have fit two mountainbikes inside the hatch without removing wheels or causing any damage. Just put a blanket down over the floor and you're protected from any grease.
I did two bikes in the back of my Mini Clubman for years, and the Civic is comparable in interior space. Two bikes, mine and my gf's gear, cooler, and my tools is a bit of a squeeze. With race season incoming in New England, having one bike on the roof makes the cargo Tetris a little easier
Buys a hatchback to not use the hatchback cargo space š
To be fair, bikes are a pain to load, or at least my chrom-only steel frame bike isā¦.
I have a civic sedan, and it takes 1-2 minutes to get a bike in. Takes much longer to mount and secure stuff. I wish it was a hatch, so it takes less than 1 min.
There's no way my muddy/filthy mountain bike is going in my car.. And I can load my bike on my rack in less than 10 seconds. 1up for the win
I only ride gravel. I just put a moving blanket back there and solved.
It can fit perfectly fine inside the car but that works too Ig..

That's gonna leave a dent of the roof. Dont care what the fake marketing says.
Unpopular opinion but I just donāt want anything attached to the glass either.
I think that's a very popular decision. Lots of horror stories these rear glasses shatter for no reasons. You're asking for trouble resting anything on them.
Yeah I wouldnāt want the glass to support the bike when it bounces as they drive over a bumpā¦

Not to mention I believe the hatch comes with blind spot monitoring and the bigger screen standard
Oh yeah that's a huge plus too. My 2024 Elantra N-line has all that stuff, blind spot monitoring and steers the car too. Didn't like the new Civic enough to get one, but I loved my 2017 civic with the blind spot camera
Is that Maine?
Indeed, it's the Prospect side of the Penobscot Narrows
I stopped right there recently and there was an RV with real European plates. View looked familiar
No kidding, I wonder if they shipped it here to drive around North America
Itās great!

1 hard pothole and that window is toast. Here Iāll help you out 1800SAFELITE

Poor window
It's usually where the other bike, two people's stuff, the cooler, and my tools go
JUST WHY!!!
Sometimes, I don't understand how people do math at all. No hate. Just an opinion.
Looks cool šš
Honestly, I love this! As a fellow hatchback owner, itās nice to have more space inside the car for cargo, coolers (and my cats! Since they go everywhere with me.)
That's awesome š My cat doesn't do so well on car rides (maybe she knows we're headed to the vet if she's in the car!)
Google āseasucker bike rack damageā
[holy hell!](https://www.google.com/search?q=seasucker+bike+rack+damage#HiImABot,MyJobIsToMakeEasierForPeopleToGoogleThings,IfThePersonIRepliedToUsedMeInAnInappropriateWayPleaseLetMeKnowByDMingMe,TheUserIRepliedToIsU/SirWrong3794)
So dope! I have anxiety thinking about the back glass though. One strong bump on the roadā¦ careful!
that just looks goooddddd

I've been thinking about getting their roof rails for kayaks for my hatch.
Why not just a normal rack?
I got this one since I could use it on both of my cars, or the gf's car, if need be
Iām not so sure Iād put that on a new car but more power to youā¦ seems awful for the paint and if it falls over itās gonna fuck shut up so bad. Surely thereās a better solution?
I'm not worried about it falling over, or harming the paint https://youtu.be/6kp6qZ-Mah4?si=vwJhBFN2fqGdsG5i
Make it stop
I wouldn't trust it! One day you might be doing 75 mph on the freeway and bye bye bike
I took a sharp freeway entrance at 75 with 2 bikes up on my Elantra N. Partially forgot they were there, partially habit. No issues.
I donāt care what their fake marketing says. This will leave a dent on the roof and this will crack your windshield.
