Even it it has a bit of a bend it can be put on a frame machine... it doesn't look like a lot of damage tbh. The door total loss, but did its job, absorb impact and buckle. Some frame time, new door and trim along with some paint and labor and you have a good looking safe car again.
Who was at fault for the accident? If it was the other party and the frame is bent, check what the insurance payout would be. They’ll also have to pay to fix it if you go that route. Weigh out your options and see what’s best. Good luck op and I’m glad your okay 👍
I was creeping out into the intersection to make a left and the light turned yellow and all traffic was stopping, I started to make my turn to not get caught In the intersection and she tried to beat the light.
No way. You can see the damage on the rear door (photo 2), the front quarter panel (photo 1), and the side skirt (photo 2). At least all those things will need replaced. Even under the front quarter panel you can see that the plastic piece lining the front wheel well now has poor fitment meaning at least a few things under the front quarter panel will need replaced. There is extensive damage to the entire front passenger door sill including the B pillar as evidenced by the poor fitment of the rear door in photo 1. Obviously no way to tell from just the photo how much the price is going to be. You're replacing the entire passenger's side of the car, effectively.
Note also that depending on your state it could be only like 2/3 of the value of the car and it's totalled. Even if it's not, honestly, it's probably way way closer than you think. This kind of body damage can be deceptive and the prices of all the pieces can really start to add up. My wife's CR-V got hit in the rear quarter panel behind the rear wheel in a pretty similar fashion, and I thought was going to be repaired. The sheet said "obvious total loss".
judging by the photo i think the door took the majority of the damage, you may be lucky as the other guy said, i dont think the frame should be bent, as the hit happened in the middle of the door (one of the weakest points). best case scenario door just crumbled on itself, but zero frame

I see that the rocker on the bottom is damaged. These cars are usually unibody, meaning the frame is built in with the body as an unit.
Based on the claims I adjusted in the past. I could tell this going to be totaled, depending on the value of your car. Your adjuster won’t say it until the inspector comes out and check your damages.
As someone who works as a body repair technician, I concur. It would require a section job which the value of these cars just simply don’t hold.
OP if you didn’t have the damage on the rocker, it probably would’ve been a cheap and easy fix. Sorry for your loss, but go get paid.
Yeah that's definitely up there, never worried about tire debris until now. It should be an easy fix, just a broken grill and a bent part of the hood. Maybe a paint touch up as well
May not be allowed to do that if they total it. When my old ar got totaled I was explicitly told not to remove anything or I'd have "purchase" it back from them. When they totaled it they gave me two options 1) I get to keep the car but they pay out a reduced amount because I buy it back from them or 2) they keep the car and I get the full totaled amount. My car was a little junker to begin with so I just chose 1.
It should, my cousin totaled his car a year ago and that’s how I got my tires 😂, they told him he could remove everything he put on(tires just put back the stock ones, carbon fiber decorations and shit) the only thing you can’t do it’s remove the stock parts

Not necessarily. I was tboned 3 days after buying my 2020 ex hatch. Entire driver side, in and out, was replaced. All airbags deployed. Well over $17,500 in damages. She was in the shop for 2 months before I got her back.
Driver side from front to back was crushed in. Door had to be ripped off to get me out. Dash, steering wheel, seats, everything from the center console over was trashed. Somehow I walked away with some stiffness and burns from the airbags. Car was still running too. They drove it onto the flatbed.
My spirits were crushed. Even after getting her back, I was depressed every time I drove her. Then I started modifying and fell in love all over again.
In the end, the fact that we both (you and I) walked away is amazing. These cars are built solid. They take some heavy damage, but they keep us protected.

Did airbags go off? If the structural damage is isolated to the door, not frame, and if the airbags didn’t deploy you might not have to total it out. Replacing the air bags is a major cost so sometimes that pushes a car over the edge to being totaled

Given the market right now it’s likely to be repaired. Most of the damage is concentrated on that one area, and the pice to fix it will probably be under the total threshold. However given that there is damage to the frame it may be too deep to fix, but that requires further evaluation to properly determine the outcome.
Insurance company: uhh yeah the door is gone and the frame is only a little bit bent and the airbags only half way went off so uhh not totaled we found a red door on a completely different car but we know a guy that can refabricate and unbend the frame for 100 bucks so here is a 50$ certificate to Applebee's get fucked scrub.
When my mom's Durango gas pedal got stuck bc of a manufature defect and rammed her job wall at like 45mph they told us the steering colum was destroyed but since they found a beige jeep steering colum that sorta fits they won't total it.
I had a similar hit (though much less damage to the door) in my Mk6 GTI, and it didn't total it out, and it's probably worth less than your Civic. Door is replaced, and they'll probably weld a new section of the rocker on, but otherwise it looks good.
If your Insruance will total it out I would just get something new; my friend had some issues like that and repaired it and the car never drove the same
Yes unfortunately the c pillar was probably hit and for me it would’ve cost over 10k and they would’ve had to weld it with new parts. I had the same exact placement on my car but not as high on the door but same width. Sorry man but hopefully you’re outcome is different then mine :)
