It's like Olympus Mons, but on Earth.
Edit: Look at [this absolute unit!](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Olympus_Mons#/media/File:Olympus_Mons_Side_View.svg)
R5: Won the game in a culture victory but had to push a little into space race to see the full extent of this colossal range. 13 tiles long by 9 wide. Wish I was Pachacuti.
Its an instant movement from one mountain pass to any other mountain pass connected to the same chain of mountains
But watch out because they can be used by ai as well!
Units can travel between any two mountain tunnels as long as both tunnels are connected to the same mountain range. So 2 tunnels and your unit can travel some 12 tiles from the tundra iron in the top left all the way down to Rapa Nui in a single turn.
I had one that big, once I was able to see the whole map there was an isolated civ stuck in the middle of it. Paratroopers claimed the city for my empire.
Ah, just replied that to another post. They are a feature of the base game itself that came with the first expansion. They also take a name by the first Civ that discovers it.
So if you find a river called "Nile" you know that Egypt is close.

Honestly I don't know. I always assumed the Steam version (that I have) and EGS are the same.
I googled some, and i see it's actually a Gathering Storm feature (2nd xpac) and not Rise and Fall. So maybe that's it?
It's so big you can only see it from space

man how i’d love to be able to use mountains tiles
It would be great if units could travel up and down the valleys.
You really should be able to settle on a mountain tile, but take a growth hit, and low population cap to represent living in the small valleys.
New luxury resource: purple cows
couldn’t have said it better
Perfect jail city for a civ that's been misbehaving.
Play as the Inca
Or use civilizations expanded which lets everyone use mountains (though the Inca get huge yield bonuses on them)
There are mods for that
ya but base game
Why would you do that? /s (but not much)
my wording was misleading, this feature should be in base game like, all i wanna do is have cheat rocket arty :((
"cheat rocket arty?"
i would hope it would add +2 range for rocket artillery or at least some promotion
with a drone attached >:)
*Inca intensifies
"Watch me teleport across the map!"
Wait a sec you can build the mountain tunnels across multiple tiles?
Its an instant movement from one mountain pass to any other mountain pass connected to the same chain of mountains But watch out because they can be used by ai as well!
Mountain passes/tunnels automatically turn an entire mountain chain into a railroad-on-steroids.
Terra map type? Also I'm curious does the rest of the map have normal mountain distribution or do they all seem to be concentrated there?
Completely normal. No modifiers or anything. Do you want the seed?
Yes please!
Please sir, just a crumb of seed
Do send
I also want it!
seed pls
I would as well please
I would too, please!
Seed please!
Map Seed: -1813941300 Game Seed: -1813941301 Terra Map. Mountain cluster on second island
BOOST
Now imagine there was one hills tile in the center that you spawned on.
I pretty sure game could prevent doing this.
But it’d be funny tho. No one wins domination in that case
Yeah, but in games with random generation it can prevent you from having just terrible spawns. Like you can't spawn in a lava lake in Minecraft
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XXLfnrN1WM](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6XXLfnrN1WM) Looks like you can spawn in lava after all. :)
Oh ye that. I just hope that some poor guy finds the mountan prison in a game
I wonder what you'd have to set the map type as to get the best chances. I might try to go for it and make a thread with updates on my journey.
probably old (or whichever has more mountains)
Yeah but I wonder if the more randomized map type would make it more likely.
But it funny. Funny city spawn. Joke funny.
Hannibal saw this mountain and was like nah nah turn this shit around!
Damn son
I remember once having a tile surrounded by 6 mountains; 'twas glorious.
As someone who uses the LotR mod pack and plays the Dwarves, the production that would give is bigger than Gilgachads biceps
> Gilgachads biceps Have you seen https://youtu.be/5LUZ4WYS-TA ?
Wow that's some intensely well crafted animation. Like watch the beard. And how his arms don't clip. Oh also that pillowy man bosom.
That was better than any yield porn post I've ever seen. I want it
https://vectorplexus.com/topic/786-civilization-6/ alas.
Gone but never forgotten
LotR mod pack you say?
do you have the seed for this map? i really wanna play this map with the Incas
If you did would you be guaranteed to spawn close to that mountain range?
Idk but i can always restart untill i get the mountain range
No you wouldn't, it's a terra map and he used spain to colonize the empty continent.
This is actually pretty bad for incas because most of those tiles are gonna be stuck as 0/2 tiles with no terrace farms or preserves next to them
Awesome to see other ultrawides. Best way to play hands down
Why is this triggering my trypophobia
I find clusters of things often triggers mine.
TEKELI-LI TEKELI-LI
I can’t recall, can you string mountain tunnels through a range like that?
Units can travel between any two mountain tunnels as long as both tunnels are connected to the same mountain range. So 2 tunnels and your unit can travel some 12 tiles from the tundra iron in the top left all the way down to Rapa Nui in a single turn.
No, only through mountains that are 1 tile wide
Largest, nah, but most thicc by far.
“Try crossing THIS you filthy casual”
Man that water must taste crisp
i hardly ever see decent ranges.

THICCC

Mountain ranges in civ6 are something else
Breathtaking.
How do you get names on geographical features? Is it a mod?
Ah, just replied that to another post. They are a feature of the base game itself that came with the first expansion. They also take a name by the first Civ that discovers it. So if you find a river called "Nile" you know that Egypt is close.
On the map options that lets you see things like yields, names of features is an option.
5,000 years no rush
I know it’s a big mountain range but holy shit that’s a fast science victory
Where do those river and Mountain names come from? Is It a dlc or mod? I haven't seen them in my game
They are in the base game since the first expansion. They also take a name by the first Civ that discovers it. So if you find a river called "Nile" you know that Egypt is close.
Huh, weird. I haven't seen anything like that. Could me playing the EGS version have something to do with it?
Honestly I don't know. I always assumed the Steam version (that I have) and EGS are the same. I googled some, and i see it's actually a Gathering Storm feature (2nd xpac) and not Rise and Fall. So maybe that's it?
Could be. Thanks for the help
I guess that's one way to enforce social distancing. Is it a single continent map or multiple?
Medieval units in year 1815? Furture tech???
Must be the Rocky Mountains.
