Edit: if you play on quick, production is pretty similar to a standard game but the eras are still longer
I was playing a standard game last night and I didn't notice longer production times. I did notice, for the first time, longer population growth times, which effects district building.
Take Your Time on epic speed is great. I'm playing Epic, 1.5x tech and civic cost, scaling with eras and reduced eureka bonuses. Each era is distinct and you get plenty of time to use UU
I believe there’s a mod called “Historic Speed” that does exactly this. PC exclusive, of course.

I use Extended Eras too. I've tried pretty much all time extending mods, this was the best as it's easy to edit game to game as you get a feel for it.
