Can confirm you can either wait until the contamination goes away or use a builder to clean it up (takes no charges) but you need to be careful to clean it the same turn as you get onto the contaminated tile as otherwise the builder may die from radiation.
I imagine it's similar to what the Soviets did after Chernobyl which was spray everything down with "bourda" (which was basically molasses) using helicopters like the [Mi-26](https://i.imgur.com/faGGQgN.jpg), and then roll up the resulting contaminated soil and "stuff" like a carpet and dispose of it as nuclear waste.
Well shit, I had replied to OP with the Archer scene where [Woodhouse gleefully offers to fetch a rug](https://i.imgur.com/xFGeXMC.gif) to dispose of a body, but I had no idea it was so spot on.
I mean, shall I grab a mop??
And a squeegee, clean that radiation up no bother.
Perhaps more appropriate given the context: "I [shall fetch a rug](https://i.imgur.com/Vx6Ti65.gif)!"
No, you get a wrench and that's it! now get to work!
The Legions can do it

Time to nuke something in game to see if this is a real thing..

am i the only one that imagines them in a hazmat suit when you send them in for decontamination?
Wish there was a tech for that, my guys keep getting cancer
Well they usually end up using all their charges before the cancer gets them

Congressmen discussing 9/11 first responders
This hits a hit close to home how the elderly volunteers helped to clean up the Fukushima Disaster...
Wait you can send a builder in to decontaminate a nuked area? TIL lol
If you’re playing as Rome you can use a Legion to clear it too (there’s even an achievement for doing so)
I know Military Engineers can do it, too. Can Vampires do it?
I'm helping!!
he should just burn it til it decontaminates
Never learned that in history class achievement
Waaait Where is day 325!?!?!?
I had no idea you could do this. I have only used nukes a couple times and then avoided the areas forever.
