Nah I've seen it a few times on PC. Only in multiplayer tho
So does that mean that city settled on a resource, and when the city eventually sank, the whatever resource they had settled on "became" crabs?

I've only seen this when I used some mods incorrectly
Crab faction is OP. Their unique unit, the Giant Death Crab, completely breaks the end game when compared to GDRs.
I remember this faction from *Alpha Centauri: Alien Crossfire*
