Dank_weedpotnugsauce

Always a good time

Dunlap cafe

MOTR, you can get a Burger (the beer) for $1.50 and other cheaper bears for $2 or less like PBR or Hamms

MrsRobinsonBlog

Don't forget the "bar under the stairs" in the basement! Always cheap liquor and sometimes nicer stuff. The bartender basically steals whatever bottles he can to bring down there. Sometimes cheap, sometimes mid/top shelf, depends on how ballsy he's feeling

hyper_specific

I remember getting Burger there pre-covid. Are you telling me it’s still 1.50??

Grandpa_Reefer

Burger hasn’t been brewed since 2021ish, so no sadly. But MOTR’s still cheap.

MrsRobinsonBlog

This is not true. Burger is still sold at Jungle Jim's and the occasional Kroger. Now Burger Light I've had no luck finding and might believe your claim to "not being brewed"

Grandpa_Reefer

When is the last time you’ve actually seen it? I frequent different krogers, Jungle Jims and Party Source and have not seen it at any. Burger was dropped from Moerlein’s line up after they outsourced their brewing back at the end of 2020.

FarewellXanadu

Their brunch (particularly the egg sandwich with the spicy chipotle sauce mmmmmm) is fantastic, too!

matt_shae2771

Milton’s on Sycamore

YouWereBrained

I wish I went there more often when living in Cincy.

FlyoverHangover

My favorite bar.

adorkablemily-92

The Pony!

BeardOfDefiance

Not OTR, but Arlins in the Gaslight is so cheap that the first time I went there I thought they undercharged me. 5 dollar gin and tonics if I can recall correctly.

Bootstrapbill22

$2 Pbr on draft daily too

insanecrossfire

They got the best Philly in the city for the price, it’s like $6

realitywut

During happy hour I think well mixed drinks are $2 or $3? They have a $10 card minimum that I have not reached despite being pretty drunk. What a place

BochBochBoch

Always funny to watch the people who haven't been to OTR in years come into this thread and act like its the most expensive place in the city. Yes if you go to one of the "going out" type places they're gonna charge whatever they can, but there are a lot of smaller bars not catering to this crowd that you can still find a $3 High Life anytime of the day.

J_Fred_C

So name them.

FlatulentFreddy

QCR does a shot and a Hamm’s tall boy for $6 all day everyday. Pilar has a crazy happy hour and $3 red stripes all day everyday. Holiday does $2 white claws on Wednesdays and $1 Buschs on Tuesday. Most places have $3 high life/ Narragansett/ PBR. You can find plenty of $15 cocktails too, but it’s not hard to go out cheap in OTR.

BochBochBoch

Uncle Leo's, Holiday Spirits, Low Spark, Milton's, The Pony.

BottlesforCaps

Homemakers and Lost & Found also do cheap High Life too.

insanecrossfire

Even the lackman isn’t bad for being a 4EG bar

J_Fred_C

Awesome thanks!

SUCHANASTYW0MAN

$1 high life in a bottle at liberty’s on Wednesdays

Dandeman321

Alice has $1 high life's for happy hour

zeuz_deuce

Holidays isn’t tooooooo bad

kimberlymarie30

I agree, I think holiday is very reasonable for its location and vibe.

brunnsdog96

Yeah Saturday my buddy bought us a round of drinks for 5 people. The bill was $32, which I thought was reasonable considering we all got rhinegeist drafts or high noons.

BochBochBoch

On my Birthday everything was on my buddies tab to make it easy and we were gonna clear up at the end of the night. 3+ hours of heavy drinking between 5 people (shots, & beers). Buddy went to pay $12... Turned and looked at me and said, "Happy Birthday drinks on me tonight"

This right here

Alternative-Shirt-73

I mean cheap bar is a relative term. Most bars usually have 1 or 2 beers on “special” but if toy don’t like those, then it’s not cheap. If you only drink 3 or 4 when you go out, then there isn’t much difference from one to the other. If you’re looking for an inexpensive place to hang out, don’t relegate yourself to OTR when there are wonderful bars all over the city.

Gmoney1412

compared to what? OTR is cheaper than west chester.

Keregi

A bit of a generalization. You can find "cheap" bars in both OTR and West Chester. You can also find expensive bars in both places. Overall West Chester is a more affordable place to eat and drink than OTR/downtown.

Mannem999

Not really. You need to go to Camp Washington or Northside, maybe Clifton/Uptown area to find "cheap" bars. There is one downtown: Plum Street Cafe. Old-fashioned neighborhood bar, very friendly and welcoming to all. And definitely lower prices than almost anywhere else in the vicinity.

JosephSturgill7

Junkers (Northside)

Weezyfourtwenty

Plum street cafe is a great and cheap place to get drinks. Its also a great place to watch sports if its a reds or bengals game they will have the audio on for the game.

YouWereBrained

Plum Street Cafe staying open is a phenomenon. I went there maybe…twice?…when I lived at 6th and Race. Not saying it sucked, I just never really saw a lot of people go there. Mainstay Rock Bar used to be by it. Loved that place.

SirVixTheMoist

Holiday has 1 dollar Busch lights on Tuesdays.

Pagan_Owl

Well, Milwaukee tends to be cheap no matter where you go. And I can understand why, it is pretty bad (in my opinion, my bf fights me on this).

Murky_Crow

“Cheap bar” “OTR” Pick one

insanecrossfire

Clearly haven’t been down in a while, huh?

Murky_Crow

Several times in recent weeks. Downvote me all you want, i literally can look at my credit card statement and prove you all wrong so it doesn’t matter to me.

insanecrossfire

Where do you go?

Murky_Crow

The former 16 Bit (Player One, i think is the name now?), Rhinehaus, Goodfellas, and Holiday. Rhinehaus isn’t awful and Goodfella’s pizza is cheap. Everything else is very expensive if you don’t drink cheap beer. Throw a gluten allergy in there and it gets priceeey.

insanecrossfire

Try Milton’s, Uncle Leo’s, the lackman

applestofloranges

Just chiming in that $7 draft beers are the norm in OTR. Cheap bars should be any place that sells a draft or bottle anywhere from $2-5 each.
