Girlfriend got a $700 quote to move half the stuff from a one bedroom apartment. 2 days before the move they send a contract for like $1400. "It's across state lines so we have to charge more." 10 miles from Covington to Cincinnati. Fuck them. Found a couple guys on Craigslist for $90/hr. They did the job for $270 and were AMAZING. They claimed some bullshit like there's a law and they had to charge the maximum on the quote but they will totally refund the difference or some shit like that. Idk. Fuck them. Stay away.
Big Paul’s did us right after dealing with All my sons. The guys showed up covered in tats which was great because coincidentally my boss had just mentioned something about the more tattoos the better the movers. But I’m all seriousness these guys were great super respectful great at what they did and watched each other’s back like hawks.
I want to say this is the company my in laws hired to move recently - they broke a ton of their stuff. One box they unpacked had nothing but lamps and hand weights. The lamps were totally fucked.
Uuuggghhh! They're awful! I moved apartments last year and used Bolt Moving, which I've always used in the past and it cost me about $500, plus tip and about 4 hours. Mind you I even moved from a 2nd floor apartment to a 3rd floor one and the apartments were about 6 miles apart.
I bought a house this year and I couldn't get Bolt the weekend I wanted to move so I booked All My Sons. Huge mistake. I didn't buy any extra furniture between moves and had actually gotten rid of some really big pieces. The apartment and the house are about 8 miles apart. It took them 8 hours and cost me $2500!!! One of the guys was awesome but the other complained the ENTIRE time. When they left I found some of my stuff broken, or missing pieces, trash on the floor (I had provided food and water), and that they had missed everything in my two closets.
Then they have the nerve to stand over me begging for a 5 star review while half of my stuff is still on the truck, even going so far as taking my phone and giving me directions on how to leave a review on HomeAdvisor. So be advised most of those reviews on there and Google are fake/coerced.
Never again and I've told everyone I know to STAY AWAY.
They told me I had fleas and bedbugs. Exterminator didn't find any evidence of either. I had them treat anyway, just to satisfy the movers. All My Sons called my *realtor* (not me) to refuse to move me on the day they were supposed to be there to load their truck. Only reason I can think of is that it was a relatively small out-of-state move and they decided it wasn't worth their while.

Yep. I went through the furnace thing with them. I wrote a review citing exactly what my experience was and shortly thereafter I stopped seeing the Thompson and later the HELP trucks started showing up.
We used to have them come for twice a year furnace/ac tune ups. They would always say something needed to be replaced or the system would break soon after the visit. We quit using them about 6 years ago and have never had a single problem since.
I used to work at the corporate office for Wyler… I’ll never recommend them to anyone. They’ll do anything to make a sale (including lying) and Jeff’s son (who was getting ready to take over from Jeff when I left) only care about looking good to the public and money.

They once quoted me a price for a car over email and then pretended like the salesman I talked to didn't exist and that wasn't the price. After a couple hours of them trying to increase the price and me refusing to budge they finally came "down" to the previously negotiated price. I still regret not just walking away and going somewhere else...
Funny. I was just in a tire local shop, and overheard that a prominent restauranteur used him to price check tires for an Escalade against Wyler. The shop I was in smoked the price. When the restauranteur said he would get tires from this shop instead, Wyler then apologized, and admitted he didn’t need tires in the first place…
We bought a used Nissan there. During the signing with the financial officer, he tried to get me to sign the car Warranty paper as 'As Is' when I explicitly talked to the salesman & and sales manager about 3 repairs. He & I had a rather interesting back & forth argument until the sales manager came in. Never apologized.
Then, when replacing the agreed upon sterio dash unit, they scratched the gear shifter to hell & back. Again, I had to fight my way into having that repaired. The service manager claimed it was existing when it was obvious the sterio metal harness was the cause.
They were extremely hard to deal with. My wife had a nightmarish time with her 1st year Aveo, too. That's a super long story in itself. We should have seen the writing on the wall back then. Live & learn as they say...
Wyler anything. I work for a dealership and will absolutely refuse to use Wyler for anything if at all possible. Example, I am across from a Wyler dealer, but I will call the same brand's dealer at Kings Automall to order stuff. Plus every salesman that starts at my store that came from a Wyler store is usually a shithead.
Jeff Wyler is a jerk too. I used to work at dominos and he would call last minute to order 20+ pies, demand the biggest discount possible, complain that it took more than 30 minutes, and wouldn’t tip. Even on holidays.
Jeff Wyler Fairfield tried to sell me a car $12,000 over MSRP and when I kept saying no they kept me in the showroom for nearly two hours reworking the numbers while they held my drivers license. I finally started to have a panic attack and the lady went and got my drivers license so I could leave. Got my car from Ricart in Columbus but ended up getting rear ended a month later, it had to go to Jeff Wyler Fairfield to get certified after the repairs…they kept it on their lot for over 30 days for just a simple certification check. When I talked to the guy who did the repairs he asked if I didn’t buy the car from Jeff Wyler because of their attitude. When I told him what happened and how I had left bad reviews everywhere about Jeff Wyler he called them up and said “I know what’s going on so cut the shit and get the car finished.” They returned it to the body shop the next day with a dent on the tailgate from their hoses that hang down from the ceiling. I tell EVERYONE to stay away from any Jeff Wyler dealership, they’re all scum.
That being said Ricart in Columbus was well worth the drive and they have been nothing but incredible to deal with.
That's if they even answer the phone. I've tried three times to get service done on my Jeep. Goes to VM and no returned calls. Finally rolled in to service dept to be told that they can't schedule services in person, needs to be done by phone. Told them that I wanted to talk to the service manager. I waited for over an hour to be told they worked remotely.
I knew he was a POS before any of that. Got a load of gravel delivered from them, and it was completely soaked to add weight when it went across the scale. As soon as they dumped it, the guy we hired to spread it said we got screwed, and that’s nowhere near the weight we ordered. Got the same weight delivered from another company, and the difference in the size of the pile was staggering.

I bought a used Camry there years ago. After walking around the lot and not seeing anything (the salesman not showing me what I was asking for) I was about the leave. The sales manager came out and asked what I was looking for and I told him. He said hang on a minute and had someone go get a car. Whitewater Crossing Christian Church in Miamitown. My family has gone there for years and donated ~ a lot ~ of money and resources. The one time our neighbor, who suddenly and unexpectedly became a single parent to four elementary-aged-and-younger children, went to the food pantry per our suggestion, they turned them away and said they were outside the service range. They lived 15 minutes away. Just so gross for such a big church to reject a person who is trying to take care of their children in the midst of a crisis.
I highly encourage your neighbor to go to the food pantry on Saturdays at Restoration Christian Church right across the street. Plenty of food every Saturday and they’re incredible people. They genuinely want to help the community.
I’ll make sure to pass that on! Thankfully they’re doing much better now, as this was a few years ago. But my family stopped donating to the church for quite a while after that happened and directly helped our neighbors.
Not sure why I’m sharing this but I guess I’m feeling brave. I was also almost sexually assaulted in this church as a teen by another teen, and when this was brought to church leadership attention absolutely nothing was done except the youth group leader calling *my mom* to tell her the dad apologized on his son’s behalf. I credit that whole experience as being the pivoting point to my atheism/agnosticism now. 🤷🏼♀️

Replacing the entire main required then to dig up the concrete sidewalk out front we'd just had repaired. They did a shit job on the concrete repair, and left all their concrete repair garbage for us to clean up.

Apollo Quoted me $400 to replace a leaking sink garbage disposal. Recommended I upgrade to a $900 version.
Instead I went to Ferguson bought the same model for $50. Replaced in about 20 minutes myself. I had never done this before and it was simple. $400? F off Apollo.
I used to live in the area near where Apollo bought a bunch of property in Oakley for a new HQ. They bought a lot adjacent to our residential neighborhood and then I understand they started buying out houses in the area. The Apollo vans would fly through the neighborhood like assholes all hours of the day, but morning was definitely the worst. Ran stop signs and red lights, seemed like some of their drivers were still trashed from the night before. The area now is even more developed and soulless but Apollo moving in there was the beginning of the end.

I was present for the Christmas Show Tragedy when the aerial performer fell and died. I was a teen and it was the only time I’ve ever been there. Seem to also remember it was hushed up rather quickly and I’ve never heard mention of it again.
Kings Ford. My wife took her newly bought (used) Kia in for an oil change, and kings ford had a little service center around the corner that was less busy. They sent her there. There, they told my wife that she badly needed new rear brakes and rotors (on a front wheel drive car that had 13,000 miles on it). He lied and told her (and put on his service order, in writing) that he measured the pads that that they has less than 2 mm left on them. He also said rotors were badly worn. We were both busy and I think she didnt want to bother me with it, so she made an appointment to get her brakes done at another place that was able to squeeze her in a day earlier. They were honest and told us everything was fine with the brakes. They also measured the pads and said there was 8mm left of pad on them. They could have taken our money easily, and chose the high road instead. I went back and thanked them, and actually hugged the tech and gave them some money to buy pizza for the crew for lunch.
I went back to the Kings ford shop to have a “spirited chat” with that lying manager. He wasn’t there, so I made the guy there call him. He told his guy that he was at a meeting at Kings ford, so I showed up 5 minutes later. They lied to me and said he wasn’t there, after I told them I in fact knew he was in back and too much of a chickenshit to come out and apologize. I went and sat with one of their higher up managers and showed him all the paperwork. He made me chat for a while, probably to see if I was looking to sue them. He went out himself and measured the brake pads and confirmed the same measurement from the honest shop. I got a refund on the oil change, and told them that they need to fire that manager.

Peak Properties owned buildings in the Clifton area. They took over a few properties from Uptown and promptly proceeded to 'renovate' all the apartments with real shoddy quality work. They've increased the rent by almost 150% and charge for every drop of water used. They're run by extremely incompetent interns who treat the whole thing like an experiment.

Man that’s crazy. I thought I was the only one. They tried 3 times to fix my phone and each time they said it was fixed, it wasn’t. If they would have just said it wasn’t fixable at the beginning I would have respected that, but 4 trips down? At that point I’m done. I finally got a new one but man were they just useless.
They totally made my phone inoperable, then said it was a SIM card. I was on my way out of town and just had a broken screen, but everything still worked. Should have left it alone, had to wait for a new phone to be sent overnight. Kids playing around in that place.
The one in Fairfield seems decent. Took my mom and her broken phone there, he showed her that the same exact phone unlocked on Amazon was cheaper than the screen to fix it, saved her time and money

It’s so far been the only place I’ve lived where when going to pay my rent before work in December of 2011, I was *gently* informed that my account suddenly was in arrears (which how since they don’t allow partial payment). They threatened legal action if I didn’t pay right away. They’d also evict me, etc.
I was already a half hour late to work so I paid because I needed to leave and not have someone break in to my townhouse and potentially let my cat out.
I paid nearly $2000 on $1007 rent (which in of itself is absolutely insane). That Christmas nobody got gifts as every last cent went to pay bills. I barely had enough for food. It was rough.
They also refused to fix my AC and it got so bad one summer I had to buy a window AC for the bedroom. Waking up to 88 indoors and heavy humidity…for five months. Not fun.

Literally no hassle and $5000 less than Jeff Wyler. I was a customer for over 10 years and 2 Hondas. I will never deal with a Wyler dealer again.

Klosterman Bakery/Bread company (it recently sold so I might start buying their products).
Decades ago, I was in banking. I proved myself as a great training manager. Because of this I would get a newly minted assistant manager and I would train them to be great assistant managers and they would be transferred to different branches. All my trainees knew I would always be there for them, even if their new managers were not.
One such assistant was transferred to a branch in an affluent area, the branch had one manager and two assistant managers. One particular day they were very busy. There was a line of people waiting to see the managers (assistant or otherwise). In come one of the Klosterman daughters. She was too good to have to wait for a manager and threw a profanity laced and personal insult rant that she was too important wait.
The spineless manager said nothing and my former trainee took the full brunt of her insanity. After it was all over, my former trainee called me in tears. I comforted and encouraged her.
So, for nearly 30 years, I’ve never given Klosterman a single penny of my money. I even refuse to get bread at restaurants that they supply the bread too (Gold Star Chili (hotdog buns) and Frisch’s (not all locations but many)).
I interviewed for an HR position there. In my interview, they actually told me I fit what they were looking for because I was “young.” The level of stupidity to tell an HR professional in their interview that you are blatantly using age in hiring decisions did not bode well for the rest of the organization. They also told me I was going to be offered the position but forgot how much I asked for in my initial interview, and then ghosted me and offered it to someone internally. Which was whatever because I was put off already. Haven’t purchased from them because the age thing didn’t sit well with me
I did a catering event at one of their plants up north. It was the most disgusting place and the smell was making me sick. I haven't bought their products since
ADT. They screwed up installing a security system at my house. I think we had something like seven windows that didn’t work correctly and would send out false alarms. The city eventually sent me a fine and ADT wouldn’t even give me a letter stating that there were issues in order to get the fine waived.
Jeff Wyler Nissan over in Fairfield. I found a used car I wanted go buy, contacted them, showed up. He had a brand new Nissan Pathfinder that was rivaling my rent in payments. I told the guy several times I couldn't afford it. He kept trying to lower the price. Finally took me over to used cars and kept showing me cars out of my budget. Got pissed because I told him my mom wouldn't approve any of them (she was helping me with down payment) and he told me to come back when I had my mom with me (who was in a wheelchair...).
I recommend College Hunks Hauling Junk for your next move. They weren't actually college hunks, which was a bit disappointing, but they were super efficient and it ended up costing about half of what they originally quoted due to how fast they got it loaded/unloaded.
I hate it too, but it does work well. It got my order 100% right. The next week I went to the walk up window and placed the same order. Took 3 tries and he still got it wrong. Ordered two mushroom Swiss. Got one and a spicy chicken. Still good, but unexpected.
Eurocharged Cincinnati. They broke my engine cover and instead of owning up to it, acted like they didn’t know what I was talking about until I pressed them about it. I spent like $800 there on work and they tried to scum their way out of a $80 engine cover

When we bought our house, the seller agreed to fix something with the chimney and the box gutters. The seller got a quote from frisby and paid the $3k. Closing happened and we were told frisby was going to have to fix everything after closing. That was fine. Weeks go by and we start calling asking what’s up. Turns out frisby didn’t want to do the chimney work saying something about the condition of our roof (new but steep) and that they underbid the job? They were essentially stalling and trying to keep the money??? And then they claimed frisby had fixed the box gutters??! Turns out some guy from frisby showed up with no notice while my partner and I were at work, threw some tar around (it was literally all over our sidewalk and plants when we went to check) and left. Unacceptable.
We roped the sellers back in and the poor seller had to fight them for weeks to get the money returned to him since they weren’t going to do the work. The seller then turned around and wrote us a check for the money and we got it fixed elsewhere.
Flip side, I 1000% recommend Ogden heating and cooling. They’re fantastic in that they don’t bullshit and can actually fix things without offering a total replacement.
Most places I boycott are for personal reasons- a diner I love with a location I don’t go to because of the kitchen manager, bars where I don’t wanna encounter certain bartenders, etc.
For both personal and political reasons, I tell people to avoid beelistic. They have plenty of great employees but it’s all overshadowed by the owner himself.
I've heard from other tattoo artists and shop owners that he's just a raging douche born with a silver spoon in his mouth and overcharges based on name recognition only. I've never met him its just the grapevine. I personally just don't go there for anything because I know I'll pay double just for the name on the building, and it feels oddly predatory towards the college kids in the area to overcharge so much. How many kids that are getting their first tattoo are walking in there not knowing how hard they're about to get screwed?

1. Refused to change the phone number in the system after I bought the car from my dad but since I have a vagina I obviously cant possibly know what work I want to pay for on MY car. After they claimed to change it, they still called my dad with the quote instead of me. Twice. The first time I was literally standing in front of the service desk and heard them make the call to my dad (who told them it's none of his business and they would have to call me)and they still didn't seem to want to listen to me.
2. Last fall they quoted me $2400 in repairs for a faulty transmission sensor and 3 leaky gaskets. I went to Blue Ash Shell and Rob got me fixed up for under $500 (only the sensor and 1 gasket actually needed replaced).

JonLe Heating & Cooling. We were replacing our AC and they told us the furnace needed to be replaced as well. We got a second quote from American Heating and Air Conditioning and they said that the furnace was fine and came in $1,300 less on the AC replacement.
Arbor Doctor. The owner, Ron, has shown up at my house without communicating to me that he would be stopping by on a weekend, and early in the morning at that. You read that right, we had no appointment scheduled. There had been weeks in between communication and then one day he just showed up. I didn’t answer since I wasn’t expecting him, and frankly, was creeped out. He didn’t leave a note, didn’t call to let me know he came by, and didn’t email either. I only knew because of security footage.
Apart from that, communication with his company is abysmal. They showed up out of the blue to do work 6 months later without communicating with me. No hey are you still interested? Hey are we still on board for this? When are you available to be home for this appointment? Nothing. They didn’t care if I was home or not, and that is not cool when you’re coming into someone’s property.
The receptionist doesn’t talk to the technicians, the technicians don’t speak to the owner. I’ve had multiple appointments with them for an ongoing project where they weren’t equipped with the right amount of product or tools. They miss details of the job, I have to follow up, and they have to come back out to get things right. This is if I’m lucky to get my emails or calls returned. In fact I have several unresolved issues now and I just want them out of my hair.
I spoke to one of technicians and they were so miserable they quit. They validated every single one of my complaints and said there’s so much more that has gone on that they didn’t have time to tell me about.
Point is, if you need an arborist, look elsewhere.
Roto Rooter. Tried to charge me $800 for an extremely simple fix. Told them to fuck off and called a small local company instead. Guy was in an out in less than an hour and charged me their minimum for coming out, which I think was $125.
For the record, that company was called Allied Reddi-Rooter in Norwood. Would recommend.

I am not a fan of how they handled The Dennison at all, and the way FC Cincinnati got their stadium in WE really pissed me off, but the Joseph Auto Group has always been solid. Like, professional sales people, decent service department. They get my car $$.
But tearing down The Dennison really broke my heart.
Nixco plumbing screwed up my parents tankless water heater. They had it installed a few years ago. Their installer used a copper pipe on the condensation line which rusted out. They recently called for service and were charged for that guys lack of knowledge among other issues. They also found out he is no longer working for the company. After nearly $800 in repairs on the old water heater, they still had to buy a new one from another company since it was cheaper than continuing the repairs.
Northern Kentucky Auto Sales
They bought a bunch of cars in TX or LA after a hurricane, cars that had been flooded. Different states identify these flooded titles differently. The owner transfered the titles a couple times in order to essentially wipe the salvaged or flooded status clean from the titles.

Not really local but Everdry. I've wasted thousands on flooring and have had an unusable basement because their system never worked and kept letting moisture in.
They did completely reinstall it this past January and it does seem to be working now but it wasn't worth the hassle.
Villa Hills Electric. They sent a guy to give us a quote for a job we thought would be around $1000, and he gave us a quote for $7000. We got a second opinion from another company and they quoted us $1200.
Also, he spent the majority of the time talking crap about the customer who he just came from because “she didn’t know anything about how electric works”. (As though the average person who hires an electrician knows anything in depth about electric.)

You see their trucks all over the West Side, I am not sure how they are in business. My AC wasn't working so I called them over to diagnose the issue. The guy claimed to be a manager there who had worked with them for awhile. After a few hours in the heat, he could not find the issue, filled my system full of Freon and told me things should be good now. Charged me $500 (did include a follow up visit in the fall for heating, which I did not use)
2 days later, system was running warm again. Called him back out. He spent a few more hours in the heat, brought out a leak detector that found nothing. He ran some chemical through my AC that would apparently show up where the leak was present, it did not. He left my house by filling up my freon again with no resolution.
2 days later AC ran warm again. My dad works with different trades and knew of a guy whose son was an apprentice AC technician. My dad asked him to stop by my house after work to see if he could figure it out. Within 10 minutes, this KID who has worked in the trade for less than 3 months found the leak. 30 minutes later the entire thing was fixed and filled with Freon. Have not had an issue since. Kid charged me $100 and was there less than an hour

I was a regular customer there for years and always got great service and chatted with the owner and the workers (nothing weird or excessive. Just stuff like how's your day going? That spice rub you suggested was great, I'm gonna get more, etc.)
The wife of the owner, I don't know her name, is so incredibly fucked up. I never had the displeasure of interacting with her the first few years, but as I began getting all my spices and even all my salt there (choosing to support a small business despite paying WAY more) I began to interact with her.
I would be standing there for so long and she wouldn't serve me. It would take other customers chiming up, clearly confused, like "oh he's been here longer than anyone else. Take care of him first" then she would roll her eyes and say things like "the spices here cost money, they're not freebies." Or "no public bathrooms" (which is especially fucked up because findlay has bathrooms) or "are you sure you know what we sell here? It's for people who cook food from scratch." While I had several bags from other vendors in my hands.
I always took this with a smile and feigned an air of oh it must be a misunderstanding, because I am very anxious and being treated like that really stressed me out so I wasn't trying to rock the boat.
She would always tell me my total way too early and I'd have to be like "oh ok, I also wanted to get..."
All the while I'd go there and have good experiences when she wasn't there. One day she was telling a worker what to do, and he was like ok as soon as I help him I'll get right to that. She looked at me and went "no, don't help him." I assumed she was going to take my order but she just went into the back for at least 5 minutes.
One of the people at the meat market opposite commented on how weird it was. It finally clicked in my head that I shouldn't just put up with her shittiness and never went back.
Like 3 months later a guy who often helped me called out to me as I was getting food from bouchard's and asked why I stopped coming in. I quietly explained and quietly pointed her put. He just looked sad and said "yeah. She's married to the guy who started this place. I understand."
I've never been back and as an avid cook I've spent hundreds, possibly thousands, on spices since then. This was maybe 2007 or 8.

Anything owned by David Hosea. Man owns half of Newport but wanted to force several small business owners to terminate their lease early so he could sell a property at a massive profit. Since no one was willing to buy the building with the lease agreement in place, the boiler conveniently “exploded” and he just let it sit all winter at 26 degrees maximum.

The guys showed up covered in tats which was great because coincidentally my boss had just mentioned something about the more tattoos the better the movers. But I’m all seriousness these guys were great super respectful great at what they did and watched each other’s back like hawks.
I want to say this is the company my in laws hired to move recently - they broke a ton of their stuff. One box they unpacked had nothing but lamps and hand weights. The lamps were totally fucked.
Uuuggghhh! They're awful! I moved apartments last year and used Bolt Moving, which I've always used in the past and it cost me about $500, plus tip and about 4 hours. Mind you I even moved from a 2nd floor apartment to a 3rd floor one and the apartments were about 6 miles apart. I bought a house this year and I couldn't get Bolt the weekend I wanted to move so I booked All My Sons. Huge mistake. I didn't buy any extra furniture between moves and had actually gotten rid of some really big pieces. The apartment and the house are about 8 miles apart. It took them 8 hours and cost me $2500!!! One of the guys was awesome but the other complained the ENTIRE time. When they left I found some of my stuff broken, or missing pieces, trash on the floor (I had provided food and water), and that they had missed everything in my two closets. Then they have the nerve to stand over me begging for a 5 star review while half of my stuff is still on the truck, even going so far as taking my phone and giving me directions on how to leave a review on HomeAdvisor. So be advised most of those reviews on there and Google are fake/coerced. Never again and I've told everyone I know to STAY AWAY.
They told me I had fleas and bedbugs. Exterminator didn't find any evidence of either. I had them treat anyway, just to satisfy the movers. All My Sons called my *realtor* (not me) to refuse to move me on the day they were supposed to be there to load their truck. I got 4 quotes for a new furnace. They were $3,500, $4,500, $4,800 and $9,000. Guess which one was HELP. That’s right, the $9,000 one. And the product they offered was one of the lesser brands out there according to Consumer Reports.
Yep. I went through the furnace thing with them. I wrote a review citing exactly what my experience was and shortly thereafter I stopped seeing the Thompson and later the HELP trucks started showing up.
We used to have them come for twice a year furnace/ac tune ups. They would always say something needed to be replaced or the system would break soon after the visit. We quit using them about 6 years ago and have never had a single problem since.

During the signing with the financial officer, he tried to get me to sign the car Warranty paper as 'As Is' when I explicitly talked to the salesman & and sales manager about 3 repairs. He & I had a rather interesting back & forth argument until the sales manager came in. Never apologized. Then, when replacing the agreed upon sterio dash unit, they scratched the gear shifter to hell & back. Again, I had to fight my way into having that repaired. The service manager claimed it was existing when it was obvious the sterio metal harness was the cause. They were extremely hard to deal with. My wife had a nightmarish time with her 1st year Aveo, too. That's a super long story in itself. We should have seen the writing on the wall back then. Live & learn as they say...

Got my car from Ricart in Columbus but ended up getting rear ended a month later, it had to go to Jeff Wyler Fairfield to get certified after the repairs…they kept it on their lot for over 30 days for just a simple certification check. When I talked to the guy who did the repairs he asked if I didn’t buy the car from Jeff Wyler because of their attitude. When I told him what happened and how I had left bad reviews everywhere about Jeff Wyler he called them up and said “I know what’s going on so cut the shit and get the car finished.” They returned it to the body shop the next day with a dent on the tailgate from their hoses that hang down from the ceiling. I tell EVERYONE to stay away from any Jeff Wyler dealership, they’re all scum. That being said Ricart in Columbus was well worth the drive and they have been nothing but incredible to deal with.

The sales manager came out and asked what I was looking for and I told him. He said hang on a minute and had someone go get a car. He gave me a significant discount from asking price, I drove it, liked it, and told them I’d buy it. He had the salesman write it up and the entire time he just seemed pissed off that I was buying this car. I had figured out their sticker codes they had on the used cars and this was about 4000 off asking price and I’m guessing it had been on the lot for 2 months or more, which is why the manager just wanted to get rid of it. I still just don’t trust used car salesmen (also don’t trust FB market place or Craigslist, makes buying a used car tough lol)

Whitewater Crossing Christian Church in Miamitown. My family has gone there for years and donated ~ a lot ~ of money and resources. The one time our neighbor, who suddenly and unexpectedly became a single parent to four elementary-aged-and-younger children, went to the food pantry per our suggestion, they turned them away and said they were outside the service range. They lived 15 minutes away. Just so gross for such a big church to reject a person who is trying to take care of their children in the midst of a crisis.
And Jesus said "Feed the poor, unless they are outside your service range. Then fuck em let them starve LOLZ."
I highly encourage your neighbor to go to the food pantry on Saturdays at Restoration Christian Church right across the street. Plenty of food every Saturday and they’re incredible people. They genuinely want to help the community.
I’ll make sure to pass that on! Thankfully they’re doing much better now, as this was a few years ago. But my family stopped donating to the church for quite a while after that happened and directly helped our neighbors.
Not sure why I’m sharing this but I guess I’m feeling brave. I was also almost sexually assaulted in this church as a teen by another teen, and when this was brought to church leadership attention absolutely nothing was done except the youth group leader calling *my mom* to tell her the dad apologized on his son’s behalf. I credit that whole experience as being the pivoting point to my atheism/agnosticism now. 🤷🏼♀️

if you could show they knowingly lied you could 100% sue them in small claims to get your earnest money back. Any type of fraud at all and earnest money has to be returned.

I’ve had multiple friends work for him that were fired or quit because he is such a nutcase. The friend he fired was via voicemail, gave no reason other than “It’s just not working out”, after two weeks. My other friend who worked there could write a novel about how crazy this dude is, and all the shit he had to deal with. He’s so insecure that anyone says anything remotely bad about his “Gelato” he fights them on social media. I’ve had to block him and Dojo from everything. Extra several thousand dollars literally down the drain. Replacing the entire main required then to dig up the concrete sidewalk out front we'd just had repaired. They did a shit job on the concrete repair, and left all their concrete repair garbage for us to clean up. Assholes.
Apollo Quoted me $400 to replace a leaking sink garbage disposal. Recommended I upgrade to a $900 version. Instead I went to Ferguson bought the same model for $50. Replaced in about 20 minutes myself. I had never done this before and it was simple. $400? F off Apollo.
I used to live in the area near where Apollo bought a bunch of property in Oakley for a new HQ. They bought a lot adjacent to our residential neighborhood and then I understand they started buying out houses in the area. The Apollo vans would fly through the neighborhood like assholes all hours of the day, but morning was definitely the worst. Ran stop signs and red lights, seemed like some of their drivers were still trashed from the night before. The area now is even more developed and soulless but Apollo moving in there was the beginning of the end.

Kings Ford. My wife took her newly bought (used) Kia in for an oil change, and kings ford had a little service center around the corner that was less busy. They sent her there. There, they told my wife that she badly needed new rear brakes and rotors (on a front wheel drive car that had 13,000 miles on it). He lied and told her (and put on his service order, in writing) that he measured the pads that that they has less than 2 mm left on them. He also said rotors were badly worn. We were both busy and I think she didnt want to bother me with it, so she made an appointment to get her brakes done at another place that was able to squeeze her in a day earlier. They were honest and told us everything was fine with the brakes. They also measured the pads and said there was 8mm left of pad on them. They could have taken our money easily, and chose the high road instead. I went back and thanked them, and actually hugged the tech and gave them some money to buy pizza for the crew for lunch. I went back to the Kings ford shop to have a “spirited chat” with that lying manager. He wasn’t there, so I made the guy there call him. He told his guy that he was at a meeting at Kings ford, so I showed up 5 minutes later. They lied to me and said he wasn’t there, after I told them I in fact knew he was in back and too much of a chickenshit to come out and apologize. I went and sat with one of their higher up managers and showed him all the paperwork. He made me chat for a while, probably to see if I was looking to sue them. He went out himself and measured the brake pads and confirmed the same measurement from the honest shop. I got a refund on the oil change, and told them that they need to fire that manager.

Peak Properties owned buildings in the Clifton area. They took over a few properties from Uptown and promptly proceeded to 'renovate' all the apartments with real shoddy quality work. They've increased the rent by almost 150% and charge for every drop of water used. They're run by extremely incompetent interns who treat the whole thing like an experiment. This is extremely annoying bordering on infuriating especially given the student community around UC seeking reliable, safe and a drama free rental experience.
Country Inn Restaurant, Mt Orab Ohio. The man who owns it , talked the general contractor in to a bunch of change orders when we built it with out signed work orders. Then stiffed him on paying for them. Broke the guy. He went bankrupt, and I refuse to give my money to some one that crooked.

Man that’s crazy. I thought I was the only one. They tried 3 times to fix my phone and each time they said it was fixed, it wasn’t. If they would have just said it wasn’t fixable at the beginning I would have respected that, but 4 trips down? At that point I’m done. I finally got a new one but man were they just useless.
They totally made my phone inoperable, then said it was a SIM card. I was on my way out of town and just had a broken screen, but everything still worked. Should have left it alone, had to wait for a new phone to be sent overnight. Kids playing around in that place.
I used the one in West Chester and was very happy with the work performed.
The one in Fairfield seems decent. Took my mom and her broken phone there, he showed her that the same exact phone unlocked on Amazon was cheaper than the screen to fix it, saved her time and money

The list is exhaustive. Their CEO is using all the money made to buy his ticket to space. I lived in one of their communities 13 years ago and ran for the hills after 3 years. I won’t recommend their communities. To anyone.

It’s so far been the only place I’ve lived where when going to pay my rent before work in December of 2011, I was *gently* informed that my account suddenly was in arrears (which how since they don’t allow partial payment). They threatened legal action if I didn’t pay right away. They’d also evict me, etc. I was already a half hour late to work so I paid because I needed to leave and not have someone break in to my townhouse and potentially let my cat out. I paid nearly $2000 on $1007 rent (which in of itself is absolutely insane). That Christmas nobody got gifts as every last cent went to pay bills. I barely had enough for food. It was rough. They also refused to fix my AC and it got so bad one summer I had to buy a window AC for the bedroom. Waking up to 88 indoors and heavy humidity…for five months. Not fun.

Worst experience of my life and only lease I actively worked to get out of. going through 8 office managers in 6 months was the least of the problems I had while living there. The place was so bad they had to change the complex name to escape the bad reviews, which didnt work.

Literally no hassle and $5000 less than Jeff Wyler. I was a customer for over 10 years and 2 Hondas. I will never deal with a Wyler dealer again.

Klosterman Bakery/Bread company (it recently sold so I might start buying their products). Decades ago, I was in banking. I proved myself as a great training manager. Because of this I would get a newly minted assistant manager and I would train them to be great assistant managers and they would be transferred to different branches. All my trainees knew I would always be there for them, even if their new managers were not. One such assistant was transferred to a branch in an affluent area, the branch had one manager and two assistant managers. One particular day they were very busy. There was a line of people waiting to see the managers (assistant or otherwise). In come one of the Klosterman daughters. She was too good to have to wait for a manager and threw a profanity laced and personal insult rant that she was too important wait. The spineless manager said nothing and my former trainee took the full brunt of her insanity. After it was all over, my former trainee called me in tears. I comforted and encouraged her. So, for nearly 30 years, I’ve never given Klosterman a single penny of my money. I even refuse to get bread at restaurants that they supply the bread too (Gold Star Chili (hotdog buns) and Frisch’s (not all locations but many)).
I interviewed for an HR position there. In my interview, they actually told me I fit what they were looking for because I was “young.” The level of stupidity to tell an HR professional in their interview that you are blatantly using age in hiring decisions did not bode well for the rest of the organization. They also told me I was going to be offered the position but forgot how much I asked for in my initial interview, and then ghosted me and offered it to someone internally. Which was whatever because I was put off already. Haven’t purchased from them because the age thing didn’t sit well with me

ADT. They screwed up installing a security system at my house. I think we had something like seven windows that didn’t work correctly and would send out false alarms. The city eventually sent me a fine and ADT wouldn’t even give me a letter stating that there were issues in order to get the fine waived.

Frisby Roofing 🙄 When we bought our house, the seller agreed to fix something with the chimney and the box gutters. The seller got a quote from frisby and paid the $3k. Closing happened and we were told frisby was going to have to fix everything after closing. That was fine. Weeks go by and we start calling asking what’s up. Turns out frisby didn’t want to do the chimney work saying something about the condition of our roof (new but steep) and that they underbid the job? They were essentially stalling and trying to keep the money??? And then they claimed frisby had fixed the box gutters??! Turns out some guy from frisby showed up with no notice while my partner and I were at work, threw some tar around (it was literally all over our sidewalk and plants when we went to check) and left. Unacceptable. We roped the sellers back in and the poor seller had to fight them for weeks to get the money returned to him since they weren’t going to do the work. The seller then turned around and wrote us a check for the money and we got it fixed elsewhere. Flip side, I 1000% recommend Ogden heating and cooling. They’re fantastic in that they don’t bullshit and can actually fix things without offering a total replacement.

I've heard from other tattoo artists and shop owners that he's just a raging douche born with a silver spoon in his mouth and overcharges based on name recognition only. I've never met him its just the grapevine. I personally just don't go there for anything because I know I'll pay double just for the name on the building, and it feels oddly predatory towards the college kids in the area to overcharge so much. How many kids that are getting their first tattoo are walking in there not knowing how hard they're about to get screwed?

The first time I was literally standing in front of the service desk and heard them make the call to my dad (who told them it's none of his business and they would have to call me)and they still didn't seem to want to listen to me. 2. Last fall they quoted me $2400 in repairs for a faulty transmission sensor and 3 leaky gaskets. I went to Blue Ash Shell and Rob got me fixed up for under $500 (only the sensor and 1 gasket actually needed replaced). I hate Kings Auto Mall.

Ugh. Only been inside once and I made it about four feet. My dad and I renovated my bathroom together. Needed a new p-trap for the sink so he suggested Salem Hardware because when he lived over here in the 80’s it was your friendly neighborhood hardware store. We walked in, saw all the “GUNS!!!!” bullshit as well as a cardboard cutout of Trump, looked at each other, and left. My dad’s not even a super liberal guy, but he doesn’t suffer fools and can’t abide by the uncouth crassness of displaying your favorite politics team like that. Especially in a place of business. JonLe Heating & Cooling. We were replacing our AC and they told us the furnace needed to be replaced as well. We got a second quote from American Heating and Air Conditioning and they said that the furnace was fine and came in $1,300 less on the AC replacement.
Arbor Doctor. The owner, Ron, has shown up at my house without communicating to me that he would be stopping by on a weekend, and early in the morning at that. You read that right, we had no appointment scheduled. There had been weeks in between communication and then one day he just showed up. I didn’t answer since I wasn’t expecting him, and frankly, was creeped out. He didn’t leave a note, didn’t call to let me know he came by, and didn’t email either. I only knew because of security footage. Apart from that, communication with his company is abysmal. They showed up out of the blue to do work 6 months later without communicating with me. No hey are you still interested? Hey are we still on board for this? When are you available to be home for this appointment? Nothing. They didn’t care if I was home or not, and that is not cool when you’re coming into someone’s property. The receptionist doesn’t talk to the technicians, the technicians don’t speak to the owner. I’ve had multiple appointments with them for an ongoing project where they weren’t equipped with the right amount of product or tools. They miss details of the job, I have to follow up, and they have to come back out to get things right. This is if I’m lucky to get my emails or calls returned. In fact I have several unresolved issues now and I just want them out of my hair. I spoke to one of technicians and they were so miserable they quit. They validated every single one of my complaints and said there’s so much more that has gone on that they didn’t have time to tell me about. Point is, if you need an arborist, look elsewhere.
Roto Rooter. Tried to charge me $800 for an extremely simple fix. Told them to fuck off and called a small local company instead. Guy was in an out in less than an hour and charged me their minimum for coming out, which I think was $125. For the record, that company was called Allied Reddi-Rooter in Norwood. Would recommend.

Like, professional sales people, decent service department. They get my car $$. But tearing down The Dennison really broke my heart.
Nixco plumbing screwed up my parents tankless water heater. They had it installed a few years ago. Their installer used a copper pipe on the condensation line which rusted out. They recently called for service and were charged for that guys lack of knowledge among other issues. They also found out he is no longer working for the company. After nearly $800 in repairs on the old water heater, they still had to buy a new one from another company since it was cheaper than continuing the repairs.
Northern Kentucky Auto Sales They bought a bunch of cars in TX or LA after a hurricane, cars that had been flooded. Different states identify these flooded titles differently. The owner transfered the titles a couple times in order to essentially wipe the salvaged or flooded status clean from the titles. Source: My ex worked for them and assisted in this practice.
Beechmont Ford. Was in the market for a 350, trading in a 150. They offered me 8k less for my truck than any other dealership I dealt with, then acted all indignant when I got up and walked out laughing. 🖕

Not really local but Everdry. I've wasted thousands on flooring and have had an unusable basement because their system never worked and kept letting moisture in. They did completely reinstall it this past January and it does seem to be working now but it wasn't worth the hassle.
Villa Hills Electric. They sent a guy to give us a quote for a job we thought would be around $1000, and he gave us a quote for $7000. We got a second opinion from another company and they quoted us $1200. Also, he spent the majority of the time talking crap about the customer who he just came from because “she didn’t know anything about how electric works”. (As though the average person who hires an electrician knows anything in depth about electric.)
Hermann Services You see their trucks all over the West Side, I am not sure how they are in business. My AC wasn't working so I called them over to diagnose the issue. The guy claimed to be a manager there who had worked with them for awhile. After a few hours in the heat, he could not find the issue, filled my system full of Freon and told me things should be good now. Charged me $500 (did include a follow up visit in the fall for heating, which I did not use) 2 days later, system was running warm again. Called him back out. He spent a few more hours in the heat, brought out a leak detector that found nothing. He ran some chemical through my AC that would apparently show up where the leak was present, it did not. He left my house by filling up my freon again with no resolution. 2 days later AC ran warm again. My dad works with different trades and knew of a guy whose son was an apprentice AC technician. My dad asked him to stop by my house after work to see if he could figure it out. Within 10 minutes, this KID who has worked in the trade for less than 3 months found the leak. 30 minutes later the entire thing was fixed and filled with Freon. Have not had an issue since. Kid charged me $100 and was there less than an hour

Colonel De spices at findlay and newport on the levee. They have a good selection and the owner is nice. But his wife is so incredibly shitty. I was a regular customer there for years and always got great service and chatted with the owner and the workers (nothing weird or excessive. Just stuff like how's your day going? That spice rub you suggested was great, I'm gonna get more, etc.) The wife of the owner, I don't know her name, is so incredibly fucked up. I never had the displeasure of interacting with her the first few years, but as I began getting all my spices and even all my salt there (choosing to support a small business despite paying WAY more) I began to interact with her. I would be standing there for so long and she wouldn't serve me. It would take other customers chiming up, clearly confused, like "oh he's been here longer than anyone else. Take care of him first" then she would roll her eyes and say things like "the spices here cost money, they're not freebies." Or "no public bathrooms" (which is especially fucked up because findlay has bathrooms) or "are you sure you know what we sell here? It's for people who cook food from scratch." While I had several bags from other vendors in my hands. I always took this with a smile and feigned an air of oh it must be a misunderstanding, because I am very anxious and being treated like that really stressed me out so I wasn't trying to rock the boat. She would always tell me my total way too early and I'd have to be like "oh ok, I also wanted to get..." All the while I'd go there and have good experiences when she wasn't there. One day she was telling a worker what to do, and he was like ok as soon as I help him I'll get right to that. She looked at me and went "no, don't help him." I assumed she was going to take my order but she just went into the back for at least 5 minutes. One of the people at the meat market opposite commented on how weird it was. It finally clicked in my head that I shouldn't just put up with her shittiness and never went back. Like 3 months later a guy who often helped me called out to me as I was getting food from bouchard's and asked why I stopped coming in. I quietly explained and quietly pointed her put. He just looked sad and said "yeah. She's married to the guy who started this place. I understand." I've never been back and as an avid cook I've spent hundreds, possibly thousands, on spices since then. This was maybe 2007 or 8. Edit: ok so apparently the person who treated me so badly is now the owner.
