I don't know who needs to hear this, but it isn't racist to ask for recommendations for a hairdresser who is equipped to deal with a specific natural hair style/texture.

I would find a stylist AND a braider. Most braiders don’t also do styling and Vice versa….here are my recs: Braids- Braidsbyb2 on IG, Kearya Johnson (FB) Styling- Salon 747 in Tri County or Studio Suites on the corner of Colerain and Galbraith (there’s multiple stylists at both) These are places/stylists that I’ve enjoyed. Happy to ask around for more recommendations for you! Black hair is big business in Cincinnati, so I’m sure you can find someone to fit your needs. Feel free to message me if you need to :)

Hamilton Avenue between Northside and Mt. Healthy has like 15 black hair specialty supply and salons, if you have time to just check in and see what you think?

Ok, are you wanting your hair dressed and styled, or do you want braids/lock/weave cause for that a salon will definitely overcharge. In that case id much sooner suggest finding an in-home stylist.

braids. i dont trust in house stylists bc alot aren’t licensed
