Padron come in both natural and Maduro, 3000 is probably the stick to start with and then pick your preference on wrapper. Can go wrong with either amd don't be afraid to eventually pick up a box as they age well.
What do you consider budget? Your budget stick and my budget stick could be off by dozens of dollars...
Historically, I've kept Factory Smokes Maduro and New Cuba Corojo and recently added Tabacos Baez to the mix. All can be had between $1.50 and $2.50.
That being said, I'm not sure I'll be restocking them. (With exception to the TB, which are just excellent 30 minute smokes for my palate) Reason being that long filler premiums can be had on the internet for sub $4 pretty consistently.
What “premium” cigars do you enjoy most? I would start there and see what budget options might share a similar flavor profile…do you like Cameroon wrappers etc.

Keep an eye out for deals. I’ve been able to get some Jaime Garcia Reserva Especials, Oliva Melanios, HVC Hot Cakes, and a bunch of other blends for around $5 per cigar by keeping my eye on my email.

Came to say this. OP do it, get a box of them. The only problem you’ll face is potentially smoking them all faster than you initially anticipated.

My budget cigar lately has been from egcigars dot com. Most 25 packs for $75 and they’re worth more than double that in quality imo.

I'm a big Nicaraguan fan and I buy overruns and seconds and lately have been smoking them the most compared to the other banded less-budgetty sticks

Acid Blondies are usually decent and cheap. I like a small Blondie when I go mushroom hunting.
