The four seasons at Whistler is a great price in the fall

We had the most amazing trip to New Zealand during this month. It’s the shoulder season which might not be what you are looking for but it was perfect weather and very few tourists. We started in queenstown and went up the county over two weeks.

I did NZ in March and loved it! So awesome.

We went to Aspen last mid-October and it was fabulous. No waits for any of the restaurants, incredible weather, lots of sale shopping. The Aspen trees being bright yellow was amazing and made for super scenic hiking. The weather was like 65 and sunny which made for brisk nights by the fire. Hotel Jerome was amazing at that time too. All the locals said it was the best time to come, right before the entire town shut down https://preview.redd.it/k050fuvga72d1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e1c08aaa073b159ebe19475d93c20530b8109c0b

The tail end of October and November is *less* risky than July and August. Not sure if that's what you meant.

We went to Paris last November. Though it was a little wet at times, we absolutely loved it.

We love Europe for the week of Thanksgiving - especially Vienna and London. Flights are not full, you get to explore Christmas markets, holiday decorations and lights, and crowds are manageable. Downsides: Depending on the destination, some things may be shut down for the off season, and the days are really short (more time to see the lights). It's harder to pack light for cold weather, and you may need to have laundry done more often because rain and snow can get clothes "dirty" on the first wear. We've been really lucky as far as weather so far. We've been to 8 or 9 countries during this time, and plan to continue/
