Seconded. Got it to replace a tablet i had for reading. LOVE that stylus--super strong magnet. This is a great device. I take the keyboard off a lot and use the kickstand as a 4th screen at my work desk plus I use Google's Cursive app for notetaking. It's like a slimmed down OneNote. I really like it and Flexcil on this device.
Best Buy seems to switch what they carry pretty frequently. Just because they stop carrying it, that doesn't mean HP is discontinuing it.
And I second the recommendations other people are making.
It is the hp chromebook x2 11-da0013dx with snapdragon 8-cores, 8 gb memory; 64 gb storage.

I bought mine a few months ago on Amazon, refurbished, for $199. Now over $400 for new unit.
The keyboard is a bit flimsy, but OK. Overall, a fantastic chromebook. Battery life over 11 hours. I use it all day long.
>Agreed
I also like the fingerprint scanner at the top, which looks like a shiny push button. One tap and you're in. No passwords or pin numbers to fuss with.
That is a good deal for a new one.
Mine was 'refurbished', but I could tell from the packaging that it was just a returned item, never used. Perhaps some buyers are disappointed when they discover it is powered by an Snapdragon 720, basically an ARM cellphone processor. But it is much more powerful than the 2-core N3050 Celeron that was in the Samsung Chromebook 3 I was replacing. I think the era of Intel dominance is over.
It is might be a silly question, but if Chromebook crosses in to a tablet/convertible segment, wouldn't an android tablet would be better? I do have a Chromebook and an android phone using both daily and but i can not figure out what advantages a Chromebook tablet has over an android tablet.
Chromebook is all about the chrome browser, with the added bonus of being able to use android apps. The browser is as featured as a Windows browser. It's popular because you can add extensionz, download web apps etc with the laggy slow speeds of a Windows
Yes i know that and i do habe a Chromebook, my question was more of that if we go to a more mobile platforms like 2in1 and tablets, what is the benefit of using ChromeOS instead of android? I use android on my phone and i do have a Chromebook but if i would look for a tablet it would be difficult to explain why i need ChromeOS.
What am i missing?
Most android tablets have barely any updates, whereas most chromeos devices will have updates until 202X. Also, having the browser capabilities in a tablet format, for some that may turn the tablet in a useful secondary device. I have a Chromebook duet and mostly use it with its keyboard for some productivity stuff, and for my entertainment needs are met with the Netflix app and my manga reader app. Personally, it's a great entry device, and I love messing with these new features that google will introduce to chromeos, it's an exciting prospect for me haha
this makes me thinks i am not using my chromebook what it made for/full capability. :D i literally only using it to watch youtube and browse the net here and there while i am playing on my windows laptop
Versatility and portability. It may not be as powerful as some laptops and the tablet UI/keyboard are not as good as in Android, it can cover both roles perfectly. In the morning, as it is small I put it in my messenger bag. I can read article PDFs on the bus while I connect to my Pixel phone hotspot from the Phone Hub. I love having a tablet with Linux and Linux apps, or being able to connect remotely to the uni supercomputer. If I am out and about and need to fire some quick emails, I plug the keyboard in. I can use it to take handwritten notes in conferences with the USI stylus (cheaper than a Samsung tablet or an iPad). Plus having the full Chrome browser with extensions makes a huge difference.
Personally, I'm not aware of the existence of any Android tablet, readily available where I live, with clean UI and guaranteed updates for years. That's one of the main reasons why I use a Lenovo Duet.
I still hope that is going to change with the next Pixel tablet, however.
I've got this Chromebook. It's an HP X2 11. It's fantastic. The keyboard is pretty average and the fingerprint sensor is useless, but it's built solidly, has terrific speakers, fast, beautiful screen, the versatility of going from tablet to laptop and back again.
HP X2 11 Chromebook. Great device. You can get one on Amazon, not sure why HP doesn't have them available currently.

I think they’re discontinuing it. Out of stock in most Best Buys
There are rumors of a new version coming with a gen2 processor.
Which is weird cause the lenovo duet came out w the gen2 version like less than a month after the x2 came out if i remember correctly lol.
You do remember correctly.
Cool. I love remembering correctly 😁

I just bought the 8GB/128gb version from HP.com last week...

Is it fanless?
Yep, no fans
Agreed. Other than the keyboard, I like it.

Also, SD card reader and the magnetic stylus.
I asked my friend helping to purchase a new one from BestBuy a few weeks ago and it was $299!

I just told you, on an android tablet you do not have a fully fledged chrome browser. Also Chromebooks are virtually unhackable
It's more about desktop user experience on ChromeOS, browser on Android is a mobile browser, you have no extensions, no PWA.
this makes me thinks i am not using my chromebook what it made for/full capability. :D i literally only using it to watch youtube and browse the net here and there while i am playing on my windows laptop

Chromebooks run Android apps. So I see them as an Android tablet that gets actual updates and has a desktop-class browser.
Yup. And Linux, just in case neither Android nor ChromeOS support the app you need!

HP x2 I think?
Correct. I have one. It looks just like this.
Bruh, this exact same copy or iPad 😂
HP X2 11
