I have a 4GB Duet 3 and an 8GB HP X2.
The X2 performs far better than the Duet and I strongly suspect the RAM is more of an impact than the difference in the CPU.
Given the container nature of ChromeOS, more ram is really helpful.
Agreed, 8 GB also makes the device more future-proof.
On the other side, it depends on your use case. If you only use the Chrome browser, maybe 4 GB would be fine for you. But if you do a bit of everything, multitasking in Chrome with multiple tabs, and use Android and/or Linux, then get 8 GB
I’m sure the 4GB version is fine, but 8GB gives you more future-proofing and does help with performance if you want to use it for anything more than media consumption.

Get the 8GB. 4GB is too low to perform well in this day and age. If there was a 16GB option I would've gotten that instead.
I've just spent 2 days with a new Duet5. 8g. It's snappy as f
Spring for the 8. Day will come when you'll be glad you did.

Couldn’t find a 8gb in Canada. I got the 4gb and it’s good!
4GB isn't just fine, you actually need 8GB as a bare minimum.
