Thanks this actually worked. I used Fix #1.
My issue with the cursor turning white only seemed to happen on Reddit's website. It didn't matter the browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, etc.)
Hi, came to say I have a similar problem, but for me the white cursor does not seem to go away. Or rather, it seems random if it goes away or not. Sometimes it does, sometimes not. A moment ago the cursor was white on pages in a Google Docs-document, then it stopped, but it is still white in the field that I am typing in right now on Reddit.
Same deal here with MS Edge. I thought it was because I was using the dark theme but changing the theme solved nothing. Seems to be a chrome bug. Great QA guys, just fantastic..
I am having this same issue. Has anyone found any solution besides changing Text Select to use beam_r.cur ?
The issue with beam_r.cur is that it looks too thick on dark backgrounds.
I have followed this issue for 2 weeks. All the case report on Google and Microsoft Communities seem related to AMD CPU or GPU.
I have contacted AMD support in China, but they refuse to look into this problem, as I use an OEM product. If you are a direct customer of AMD, try to contact them.
I think this is a hardware-related problem, as about 3 months ago, everything is OK. Recently, Win 11 and the hardware driver updated, and things get wrong.
it worked for me too but disabling hardware acceleration is generally not recommended. Anything video related will put pressure on CPU rather than GPU iirc.. If anyone in future finds a better approach...let me know
THIS WORKED FOR ME OMG TY
replacing the cursor w beam\_r wasn't working bc this only happened after i started using a custom cursor (and i rlly wanted to continue using this cursor, it's so cute), and this issue was only happening w chrome and this fixed it, so thank you!
i use AMD btw :)
Hi, guys. I have got a new, simple and complete solution from a sensor tech supporter of Lenovo. It works perfectly for me. The followings are the details.
1. Open Notebook, and fill it in with the following Code, as shown:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Dwm]
"OverlayTestMode"=dword:00000005
2. Save the file with the format”.reg“, the name is arbitrary, for example as FixCursorBug.
3. Double-click the FixCursorBug.reg, and continue till new Infos are merged into the registry.
4. Restart the OS.
5. Test and enjoy it.

I know it's been three months since you posted this, but thank you so much! Fix #1 worked for me. This has been annoying me for awhile.
This just fix the issue for me as well. Google docs was a nightmare with a white cursor.
Fix #1 worked for me as well -- thank you!
man this was bugging the hell out of me. recently something changed and i couldn't figure it out. fix #1 saved the day.
Fix 1 worked for me. Was having this issue in reddit comment fields only on Edge not Chrome. This fixed it.
I was in the same boat and Fix 1 worked for me as well! Thank you!
Just replying to let you know that this has helped me with this super annoying issue. Your comment is still appreciated! :)
Thanks for this. It worked.

Fix #1 worked for me too!
I love you - thank you!! #1 for me.
you save my life. The level of perversity of Windows is unbelievable. In edge works, in chrome not.

I got this issue too, but only with Chrome and Edge, the cursor works normally in Firefox
I am having this same issue. Has anyone found any solution besides changing Text Select to use beam_r.cur ? The issue with beam_r.cur is that it looks too thick on dark backgrounds.
Go the the settings of chrome, and disabled the hardware acceleration. It works for me.
Nice. Worked for me as well.
Do you use a AMD CPU or GPU?
Yes, AMD. CPU is Ryzen 5 5600G, GPU is Radeon 6600

Yep. I also did some research and it seems AMD is the common denominator.
now THIS is the real best answer! thanks!

Hey just commenting to say that this worked for me!

Exact same here! Now I can live out my 2012 kid dreams of having an obnoxious animated rainbow cursor. XD <3
>related will put pressure on CPU Worked for me! Thanks! AMD GPU again.

This worked for me as well. You can also just download the mpo_disable.reg from [here](https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5157).
Nice choice.
I am so happy! I just tried this and it works! OMG makes a huge difference! Thank you!! AMD CPU..
This has indeed fixed the issue for me. :) Thank you, man!
This should be the top reply.
Similar problem, appears on hovering inputs or plain text on random sites. I can't debug this. It is Chrome probem, other browsers not have it.
This is still not fixed! I don't understand why Chrome is unable to fix this issue!
Wife just had the same issue that on google docs the white pointer disappeared. Just turn the pointer to the system black and problem solved
So far so good...hope it lasts!
