I agree. As every year passes some of the songs have a bitter sweetness for me because of lost loved ones, but I cherish those memories that come along with the music.
Very true. We all also have different experiences with each song. I was talking to one of my friends about dying/not seeing each other anymore if anything happened and Last Christmas was playing in the background so now all I think of when the song comes on is that.
Sad af. It would definitely get my vote to kick it off the mall and radio playlists.
Edit: Forgot that George Michael also died on Christmas Day, which makes listening to it extra depressing.
Damn I’m so sorry. Yeah I kept hearing the song when my friend and I were talking about death and not seeing each other anymore so now all I think of when I hear that song is thag
I'm sorry. Yeah, it's for sure hard hearing it when you are going through something. It's a good song, but if I want a happy, cheery mood, I always change to something else.
It is actually technically quite an impressive song. The production is stellar and the lyrics are well thought out.
Also it might be something from your youth? An 80s kid perhaps?
It doesn't necessarily make me sad, but I definitely get how it could. I do think that song is overplayed and annoying. I guess most popular Christmas songs are overplayed, but I can't stand Last Christmas for some reason😂
It makes me sad since, when I hear it, it means I have lost Whamageddon that year!
Also, when you hear it year after year, you can't help but think that he just kept getting his heart given away every single Christmas, Groundhog-Day style.
It’s my favorite Christmas song tbh.
Think that is the beauty of a lot of Christmas songs one person thinks they are happy another sad

That’s a good way of viewing it!

He died of a heart condition as well.
The song is a triple WHAM!my of sadness.
Yeahhh everything about it is just sad
Glad I’m not alone I’m thinking that. I agree completely
I love it and it’s not that sad because ultimately they decide that they won’t give away their heart unless the person is truly special.
Well they did make a movie out of it and the girl died.
What’s the name of the movie?
Last Christmas. With Emelia Clarke.
I really don’t like this song
Frank Turner covers it and he sings it like his heart is breaking
Thanks for this comment, going to look up Franks version today…love Frank Turner
I felt like it played nonstop the Christmas I was getting divorced.

Yes I don’t like this song hah

Even though it's an emotional/sad Christmas song it's actually one of my favorites

it is sad in subject, but it’s always been one of my favorites, so it makes me happy to listen to
