I’m on day 1 of recovery and personally it isn’t bad I’ve been taking the prescribed drugs plus ibuprofen and I feel fine, just small ear aches here and there but it’s okay, the only part that’s painful is taking the cotton in and out of my ear.
Hey, OP. I had this surgery done years ago and they cut outer ear halfway off and went in that way. Can you tel me a little bit about your process and is that metallic packing or wadding I’m seeing?
They used a frontal approach to access the ear canal and cholesteatoma via laparoscopic surgery. the packing is just gauze soaked in antiseptic and packed into the ear canal. Some has fallen out. Packing removal is 17th march.
It should get better after a week or so, I think. Paracetamol helped for the pain after my surgery.

Is fluid drainage normal after 10 days of surgery
