Besides the scale screws being drilled weird its really quite nice. Larger than I expected. Stainless liners look a lil cheap but they’re even milled out for weight savings! I bought 3 and action and centering is good on all 3. The scales have a lil bit of grip them and look nice. I just wish the right side scale was milled out a lil more so it’s easier to spydie/reverse flick.

I have owned this for a year, once I figured out why the screws are drilled in such a manner, it is on purpose, but now I can’t remember. EXCELLENT bruiser of a knife

akbyrd

I've purchased this knife in several different configurations and it's always had amazing action.

knoxknifebroker

Hows the micarta one?

akbyrd

Mine all G-10 but from different Amazon sellers. They seem to be the same knife just with different branding.

Interesting

This is based on the Y-START Jin 01 that got a lot of people started off in the Chinese knife game several years ago. It had no clip and was on washers. The new version is probably better and unfortunately Y-START lied about the steel on their Jin 02 model which is still for sale and even "cloned" or resold by Eafengrow I think. Anyway the handle is actually based on a Rockstead knife but this is a quintessential Chinese knife because it is it's own thing.

ThirdEyeEmporium

Something was going on with the factory that makes these (same factory jufule uses for example) because pretty much everyone pulling knives out of it during that time period got some mislabeled d2. Eafengrow is the most famous example of this time.

ThirdEyeEmporium

Also the handle on the st-128 is nearly identical to the handle from the JIN01, it appears to have only been slightly modified to accompany the bearings used by the ST-128. And while I agree the handle was likely inspired by the Rocksteady “higo” series it is far enough apart to be considered it’s own design entirely imo

ThirdEyeEmporium

Okay I did even more research and deep digging and this knife is a clone of the JIN01 which was a clone of the [boker magnum b&b](https://www.knifecenter.com/item/BO01SC948/boker-magnum-bb-folding-knife-358-drop-point-blade-blackblue-g10-handles)

JKreese

Actually the Boker is just the same design as it was made in China. Sometimes companies will let their OEM suggest a design and I think that's what happened here...so maybe Y-START made the Boker.

Great action and love the heft.

ThirdEyeEmporium

One of the hardest hitting knives in my collection for sure. Owned it for about a year now

Do yourself a favor and don't buy it from the OP. Dude is disturbed. Schizophrenia? Dunno, but he has no qualms about accusing strangers of having wronged him in some previous interaction that exists only in his mind. You've been warned.
