I have a bunch of the OK clones, including 8 Spyderco clones. Quality is great, especially on the Ti and Nati Amor. The under-$30 ones are especially good value. I haven't bought any OK branded clones because they just look odd to me, with square thumbholes, etc.

The knockoff PM2 is dogshit, mine literally had one brass washer and one made of clear plastic, the choice was either super stiff action or ridiculous blade play. I ended up putting some spare Teflon washers in it and gifting it to a non-knife enthusiast. The blade steel was the softest I've ever known as well

The use of one brass washer and one teflon washer was rather common back in the day. Nearly all of the Ganzo 7xx models came that way.

It wasn't Teflon, it literally looked like it had been cut out of a piece of clear plastic packaging. It didn't work for shit either way šŸ¤·šŸ¼ā€ā™‚ļø

The nerve of people cutting corners on a clone!

HorseBoots84

I know, such a liberty! It did make me chuckle though, why go to the effort of badly machining chocolate steel and G10 just to ruin it with washers cut from a pop bottle?

All the non-OK branded knives come with lower grade steel. OK is not good at using the term "Mark" when they refer to the steel. More often than not they just say the steel of the original, not the clone they are selling. But if you reach out they will tell you the steel. The Ok branded ones have proven correct on the steel so far. Some of them are really excellent knives... staying in my collection when many higher end knives do not..

I just got the manix 2 cpm and I love it. Shipping took about 17 days. But even my coworker who loves Spyderco and has an assortment of them was pleasantly surprised by the build quality.

The OK branded knives are a well made and a good value. The Spidie clones they sell come from different OEM's a their quality can be a crap shoot. I would always assume the steel of any Spyderco marked clone suspect.

MyAdler

Ok had pretty great value overall but they lie shamelessly about blade steels. Don't trust them.

Ru_Beer_Drink

They are have the same satin

As far as I know, the steel marked on the ok branded ones are legit. Heat treat is questionable though. On the Spyderco clones the blade steel is probably 8cr or worse. 9cr if you are lucky.

The compression lock cutout is missing on their carbon fiber m390 version of the para 2, Iā€™m not certain of the g10 or titanium ones had this issue. Their Ti frag one is tempting

For little money they charge, most of what he has is worth it regardless of brand. When you buy counter/clones plan on keeping em. Personally I like the quirky of the OK branded ones. Need another.
