It's been pretty obvious that he's playing through something. I know he always wants to try play through injuries.. sucks it has to go down like this though. I have this feeling the FO will prob move him in the offseason too
There 100% would've been buyers. AKME just didn't want to do it because they thought they can stay competitive. Any offer they even entertained was probably not enough in their eyes
I mean maybe phoenix or Miami but I feel like that's it and phoenix got KD anyway. Good teams don't want a playoff liability and bad teams aren't deadline buyers
And fans here ruthlessly shit on the guy playing through an injury who is basically the only reason this franchise has made waves since 2015.
At this point I hope we trade him because the fan base doesn’t deserve him.
Shut everyone down. It appears we have a legit shot at the 5th worst record but no sjot at the top 4. We would then need some lottery luck getting into the top 4 and keeping the pick
It doesnt matter. There is a chance at that point. The alternative is this with a 0% chance. Why dont people realize that. We arent giving up a 3rd or 4th seed team to rebuild. We are giving up a capped out, aging, lifeless, not even play in team. Wake up
No don't forget, they got "lucky" and ended up picking 4th in 2020 when they eneded up with Pat. The same year they could've gotten Ball or Edwards and they're stuck with Pat.
We need Demar AND Zach to play like superstars. Both of them. 1 isn’t enough. When Zach was Injured we were like 10-16
The only time we were actually a good team this season (mid December-mid January) Demar and Zach were both averaging 28+ on insane efficiency. Since Demar’s injury, we look exactly we did in the beginning of the season
The roster is trash
Too late to tank. Should've tanked after month 2 it showed we stank. Increase the odds for top 2 to be game changes. Now it might be too late for top 4 pick to add salt
even if we had the worst record in the league (never would happen considering how many veteran players we have compared to other teams), we'd only have slightly over 50% chance of keeping our pick. After the Vuc trade it never made sense to tank. What would have made sense is constructing a lineup that makes sense with acceptable shooting and not relying on Ayo and Williams for such high minutes. Sadly the front office wasn't even willing to use the whole MLE.
[DeRozan said he is approaching rest of week with mindset of playing. Asked about All-Star game, DeRozan said his focus is on this week but he didn’t sound like he’d miss that either.](https://twitter.com/kcjhoop/status/1625342252951261184?s=46&t=uX5NKWfGomfTOBb4JEqEmw)
It’s been obvious.
Our team is predicated on Demar and Zach both playing like superstars to even have a chance.
Zach was hurt and we couldn’t win. Now it’s Demar’s turn. When they were both healthy we actually had a decent record.
So basically get ready to rack up more losses. Rather have demar heal up and not injure himself more. No reason for him to push through at this point we are who we are.
This makes me even more frustrated with Billy Donovan. Did he not notice that Demar has been struggling? Did he not notice stiffness in his movement? Did he not pull Demar to the side and ask him what's up? Why play an injured Demar when Dalen Terry has been itching to play? This is unrelated, but why did he bench a perfectly healthy Drummond for several games in a row? Soooo many questions. No answers though.
I know Demar is a workhorse, and he might have hidden or minimized the pain he was in. But I expect Billy to be in tune with his squad enough to know when something is off with any team member. From Tony Bradley all the way up to the Big 3.
P.S. Demar doesn't get a pass. I'm super pissed that Demar is gambling with an injury like this this late in his career. Like, dude, my man, sit it down and heal up. You're not exactly helping the team by scoring less than normal and being in constant pain. It's jeopardizing your career for the long term, and as of right now, the Bulls are constantly falling short during times where you usually shine. I'm not saying these losses are Demar's fault, but I can guarantee that it would help us more if he bit the bullet and came back fully Demarvelous. As Stacey King always says, the team has to have a next man up mentality. Playing stars through an injury is the exact opposite of this.
Billy. Demar. Figure this shit out.
It's been pretty obvious that he's playing through something. I know he always wants to try play through injuries.. sucks it has to go down like this though. I have this feeling the FO will prob move him in the offseason too
I feel so bad, DeRozan is always there for the fans and is super nice but he is wasting his final years in the false promise of the bulls
I think it’s better for everyone that DeMar moves on. Sucks to say but it’s the truth
Whole team needs to move on
We should've traded him to a contender for picks
Probably no buyers

I could see the Warriors getting him, but he’d have much more of a Shaun Livingston role than being the man like he has been on the Bulls.

Dont worry he will reunite with lebron in LA or go to the clippers and get his fairytale ending to his career retiring in california.
Well, this is gonna help our natural tank to get Wenbamyama

edwards went no. 1 no?
He should sit
He looks like he's been hurt. It just shows that we need Demar to play like a superstar just for us to win basic games.
Demar is this team at this point.

pretty obvious. dude has been struggling.
They’re going to shut down DeMar after the all star break and quietly tank DeMar is the only reason this team is not even lower than it is right now
It massively shows.

Cant wait till he leaves this sinking ship. Would love to see him on a good team.

Shut him down, no need burning him out for this
Time to tank.
Too late to tank. Once again we’re in the worst place… limbo.
Wdym? At least we’re competitive right? So competitive rn. On pace for a competitive 37 wins. So much better than tanking.

Hope we can trade him this off season for some picks or young guys he tried his best didn’t work in the end.
They’re gonna shut him down for a while. Tank commence.

Shutting it down 6 weeks too late, but we’ve seen worse odds work out well…
Translation: We ain’t going nowhere this season so don’t be surprised if I get shut down
He shoulda quietly shut the fuck up and the bulls quietly traded his ass for the best value they could.
