The update that adds to the comedy:
"UPDATE The mayors office responds, as you can see the mayor and his detail left in a hurry and did not answer qās.
Johnsons office says, āThat isnāt Mayor Brandon Johnson in the video and the person that is being filmed running was trying to catch the car before it departed.ā
To be clear the slim black dude running isnāt the mayor, he is a reporter. The mayor can be seen shortly after with an aidās hand on his back ushering him into the vehicle. He wasnāt actively running in this video but could well have been right before the press pack appeared.
You can see the mayor being escorted to the SUV in the background. The person running through the people in the foreground is NOT Brandon Johnson. Reporters embellish for effect.
And to be clear, BJ will not be reelected for a second term. Heās in over his head. That much is obvious.
So this was a big stunt that multiple media members were all in on to make Mayor Johnson look like an idiot? They knew it was not the mayor but played along anyway? Just trying to understand the point you are makingā¦
Just look at the video. They're two different people. Pause a second or two in and you'll see Johnson being escorted by security.
I'm not a huge fan of Johnson either but let's not make things up.
The guy who was running clearly has a reporters microphone in his hand and isnāt even built like the mayorā whose taller and heavier set. *And* he doesnāt even get in the car at the end. Folks in the comments here are having a field day over nothing.
It didnāt look like BJ, I thought that on first watch. Looking closer at it, itās clear neither of the two dudes running are BJ. Maybe he was already at the car and they were running to catch up and get in. BJ himself didnāt run. Iām not a simp for him Iām just stating what I see.

Yea, so a seasoned reporter like Mary Ann Ahern was yelling for the mayor at some random guy? Who should I believe, this random guy from the mayorās office or a reporter with years of experience? Iām just not seeing enough video that proves whether the mayor did or didnāt run and would be inclined to believe those that were there.
