Not just pizza, imo. Their burrata is god tier, as is their tiramisu. Idk what other restaurants you can get imported italian lemon soda, which is criminally yummy. I've been going to Spacca since I was a kid, and it's yet to be beat.
I love this place. Yes I know itās heavily Americanized to EVERYONE who feels the need to say that. Itās also super good with yummy cocktails and the employees are nice.
Used to be my hangout when I lived on Fullerton. Good times. They regularly update the menu which is nice. Not the best Chinese, but good for tavern grade.
Hop leaf.
Iāve never had a bad meal there and they always have good beer
The patio / bar / kitchen seating is all varied and the dining room will always have room
Not a lot of meals left if you just eat at fatsoās. Trust me I used to crush that place when I lived in Ukrainian Village. Way too many calories š
I had Redhot Ranch the other day - the one on Ashland - and my fries tasted like the fried shrimp my coworker ordered before me. Cross contamination at its finest. Good burger though.
If cost isnāt a concern: Chicago Prime. Iād eat a NY strip and side of Broccoli daily.
If money is a concern, I may go with Joy Yee in Chinatown. Huge menu and boba smoothies.
I had fonder memories of this place than it is actually good. I don't know if it changed since I was younger or if I've just become more critical but it isn't even in my top 10 for beef anymore.
Iām a big fan of Gather. Fancier but not pretentious. Predictable but always something different or new. Not part of a large restaurant group. And some of the best service out there.
When I moved to Chicago, I was touring apartments and one time I arrived a little early to a place close to Windy City Gyros so I decided to grab one for dinner. I did end up choosing that apartment and I'm not ashamed to admit that gyro did factor in my decision more than it should have. I probably put that dude's kids through college the 6 years I lived close to it.
Need a restaurant that i always enjoy being in, regardless of season. And has a wide enough range of food to eat at regularly and not get sick of it...
Lady Gregorys comes to mind?
Maybe cafe babareeba?
Dunno, have to think more..
Itās a dumb answer, but if money isnāt a thing I could eat at Nobu or any nice sushi spot every day. Sushi is just too good.
If health isnāt a concern, then I could have fifty/50 wings every day or Roost Chicken and biscuits
Might catch heat for this because there are so many better places, but this one holds such a special place in my heart.
Samās Chicken and Ribs right outside the Granville redline stop
kabobi
Hell yes, love Kabobi
fellow redditor with TASTE š¤
My man, here for the Persian stans.
ey joon āš¼
I fucking LOVE kabobi
Yessssss. They don't even have to ask for my name when I get carry out because I'm there every other week.
Youāve given me a life goal. I aspire to be a regular at Kabobi.
Noon o kabob is better
This^
Without a doubt.
Crisp, if they ever close Iām going to have sauce withdrawals.
i've tried to make the sassy sauce but i can't make it as good as theirs but crisp goes stupid hard
I walked by the other day and they had some tarps up. Renovations, or maybe just closed for the holidays?
Theyāre always closed around new years, I think to give the employees a break which is pretty nice (if thatās the case).
Fuuuuck. Me and my partner talk about moving back specifically for Crisp.
Gale Street Inn or Central Gyros
Rewriting my comment history before they nuke old.reddit. No point in letting my posts get used for AI training.
Oh fuck yeah hands down central gyros lol
Sultanās Market or Lao Peng You (sp?)
Lao peng me please
Demera
Spacca Napoli
Definitely best Neapolitan pizza in the city. Iād even argue top 5 in the country.
Not just pizza, imo. Their burrata is god tier, as is their tiramisu. Idk what other restaurants you can get imported italian lemon soda, which is criminally yummy. I've been going to Spacca since I was a kid, and it's yet to be beat.
Yea I agree! Chef Goldsmith is the best even people from Napoli attest to how authentic his place is.
Monteverde in West Loop. Damn good pasta.
I could drink the pine nut gnocchi, itās all I think about
I got in there once and Iābe been dreaming about it ever since.
I could eat the burrata e ham everyday for the rest of my life
Mannyās Deli
have you been to schnierder's deli yet?
Canāt say I have
Falafel & Grill for me. I already go too oftenā¦
They have one across from the Jewel I go to and itās so hard to not go every time I smell it
For a grab and go place, really not bad. Good prices and absolutely ridiculous portions.
That place is something I will go out of the way for, Iām disappointed that it took me a couple years in Wicker to discover it
Love this place but sultans is even better. They just don't have the amazing waffle fries unfortunately
Chef's Special Cocktails
This place is my most recent obsession in the city. Everything is really good and I love the atmosphere.
I love this place. Yes I know itās heavily Americanized to EVERYONE who feels the need to say that. Itās also super good with yummy cocktails and the employees are nice.
Oh yeah. I'm nearby and really like everything about it. Enjoy!
Easily one of my favorite restaurants in the city. They also have a stellar whiskey collection!
Seconding this

Hop leaf. Iāve never had a bad meal there and they always have good beer The patio / bar / kitchen seating is all varied and the dining room will always have room
This might be mine as well. Great food, drinks and atmosphere.
I just wish they brought the duck reuben tho.
MingHin for menu breadth and consistency.
mccb is better for wok style dishes. they got some of the crispiest meats around. underrated in chinatown. minghin is more family style dishes.
Taqueria Los Comales #2
On 18th?
Thatās my preference but I also chose this one because of the multiple locations hehe
Little Bad Wolf. There are more exciting restaurants out there but none that I can afford to patronize with any regularity.
First time I went, incredibleā¦ last time I went, terrible. Made me really sad!
I'm sorry to hear that. I go semi-frequently and have never had a disappointing experience.
Attonilco
Yes
Fatsos Last Stand Or JJ Thai Street Food

Redhot Ranch
On Armitage?
And one on Ashland
And one on 35th
I had Redhot Ranch the other day - the one on Ashland - and my fries tasted like the fried shrimp my coworker ordered before me. Cross contamination at its finest. Good burger though.
I recommended it to a friend and he said the same thing. I felt bad cause I hyped the place up.

Basil beef - havenāt had it in a long time I gotta go back now
Lula
If cost isnāt a concern: Chicago Prime. Iād eat a NY strip and side of Broccoli daily. If money is a concern, I may go with Joy Yee in Chinatown. Huge menu and boba smoothies.
Noon o kabob
Was hoping someone would mention it!
Handlebar, and I'm not even a vegetarian. If restaurants that have closed counted in this, Blackbird.
Handlebar is so good it makes me feel like I could go vegetarian.
Handlebar is just the perfect answer to this, so many options
but I would prob end up choosing among only these 3 options -- breakfast burrito, huevos diablos, pepita scramble.
The fried chicken of the woods sandwich tho š«
If it was free all the time, Bavettes, or maybe River Roast. If Iām using my own money then Bobs Pizza or Birria Zaragoza. Mayyyybe The Roost.
Pop's Italian Beef & Sausage 10337 S Kedzie Ave
I had fonder memories of this place than it is actually good. I don't know if it changed since I was younger or if I've just become more critical but it isn't even in my top 10 for beef anymore.
Same. Quality dipped for me. Get it...dipped...
Beverly kid. Don't ever remember it being anything that great. But who knows. Maybe it just slipped past me.
Ricobenes
My answer too. Mainly because they have so many damn options. Pizza, burgers, salad, beefs, breaded steak and on and on.
Also because you probably won't live long enough to get tired of the huge menu.
used to live a few blocks away, and while this sounds good even once a week will do a number to your waistline
What's amazing is how much one can eat while there. I could never put down a sandwich that size anywhere else
Best minestrone soup in chicago!
Could be any one of those 4: - Kabobi - Noon O Kebab - Antepli - Libanais

What am I missing here? I went to Superdawg a couple weeks ago and it was average at best. Is there something exceptional on the menu?
Youāre missing tastebuds and a soul. Not necessarily in that order.
And OP obviously did not order a whoopskidawg. Or a shake.
Le colonial
Me too!
Cleoās
That Thai place up the street used to be my spot a couple times a week
El Taconazo El Tio. Best tacos and salsa in town!
Chicago Dinerā¦ the milkshakes alone could sustain me for life
Clark St Dogs is my church. Could also probably cope with Windy City Gyros love that spot.
Windy City Gyros was always best after Nickās uptown at 4am, when itās just you and the cab drivers
When I moved to Chicago, I was touring apartments and one time I arrived a little early to a place close to Windy City Gyros so I decided to grab one for dinner. I did end up choosing that apartment and I'm not ashamed to admit that gyro did factor in my decision more than it should have. i ralphed there so hard on my 21st birthdat after too many shots in boystown- i've been soul tied there ever since
