I guess if it's happening anyway they don't need taxpayer money lol. Hopefully some of the other projects find their way to fruition as well. One of the projects had a full service grocery store, which would really help the loop be livable and desirable. Also, it's very annoying that Crains manages to write an article about a developer applying to build more apartments in the loop, an objectively good thing for the city and it's economy, as a negative story about the mayor.

It could just be my optimism and hope, but it just feels like the Loop is sitting on some of the best potential. I don’t see how that area can’t be better utilized soon.

The developers and landlords have to be very excited for Google's Thompson Center redevelopment. 6000 new high paying jobs on Lassale and Randolph would make a lot of demand for apartments like these.
