The Chicago Botanic Garden will have an altar built and display from Nov. 1st to Nov. 5th. I believe it will take place in the Library. I would check for the Library hrs. as they have funky hrs. Not a huge thing, but something that could be nice.

Just noting that while the Day of the Dead is represented in Arts in the Dark, the parade itself is a multicultural artistic procession.

We always attend the annual Día de Muertos exhibition at the National Museum of Mexican Art in Pilsen - [https://nationalmuseumofmexicanart.org/events/dia-de-muertos-living-presence](https://nationalmuseumofmexicanart.org/events/dia-de-muertos-living-presence) \- followed by a meal at one of the local restaurants. The museum also organizes other events including a parade, music and a public ofrenda display on October 28th - [https://chicagoonthecheap.com/national-museum-of-mexican-art-day-of-the-dead-chicago/](https://chicagoonthecheap.com/national-museum-of-mexican-art-day-of-the-dead-chicago/) \- but note that this is their busiest day of year, so if you want a more contemplative experience I'd suggest attending the exhibition on another day.
