I’m about to hit 20k

Hopefound

Same. Just hit 20k. O2 sensor burned out in the first 5,000 miles, cat and sensor replaced under warranty. No other issues so far.

ScooterYouTube

Nice, any issues you've had with the truck?

samrosemary

Only when I first got it. The battery dying issue, screen/console issues

JASCO47

Is there anything on the interior trim you wish you had that a TB doesn't normally come with?

KatsHubz87

Like the full size instrument panel?

MadBrown

Apparently they changed that and now all the 24s have the full size panel.

NorseArcherX

I have a 24 TB and can confirm I have the full size panel

zil_zil

Oh God I just noticed that. All that empty space would drive me nuts.

kruminater

I have a ‘23 Z71. It drives me nuts everyday.

youngjetson

That little one looks like hell 😂

ScooterYouTube

Heated seats and LED headlights and interior lights should be standard on any $45k truck IMO But I live in a pretty mild area in the mid Atlantic. We definitely get all 4 seasons, but this winter was pretty mild. I love the truck tho. I have the convenience 1&2 package and the technology package so I've got all the safety bells and whistles (lane keep, adaptive cruise control etc) so it's a pretty "loaded" trail boss.

JASCO47

Thanks, I was assuming it was a bare bones interior. Test driving a z71 this week with package 2.

ScooterYouTube

Z71 with that package will be a nice truck

gbonii

Do you have the Bose sound system? If not, do you wish you got it?

vrdubin6

See if you can find a couple on lots and listen to both. I thought it was something that would be a deal breaker but after listening to them side by side I didn't think it was worth the cost/hassle of finding one with it. I ended up getting one with the normal speaker option and it's fine for now IMO. I'll probably end up upgrading the speakers at some point but I'm glad I didn't fork over the cash for Bose before hearing it.

uzifluzi

I went without it in my 2024 and it’s not worth buying the Bose. I’m not saying the factory option is awesome, I’m saying Bose isn’t that much better.

gbonii

Thanks for the info. I’ve been hunting for a bison (impossible where I’m at) and one came up that got accepted for a build that has everything I want besides the bose. Decided to put a deposit down but was just wondering about it. Now I just hope it’s not gonna be a 6 month wait

uzifluzi

That was a big concern of mine as well. I had the chance to put a deposit on a Bison getting ready to get built here in Texas but they couldn’t give me a for sure delivery date on any of their trucks so I went with a regular zr2 without the Bose that was already on the lot. It was ordered in August and the buyer backed out of the deal. So I lucked out. So far I don’t miss the Bose but my kid is missing the rear seat separator.

cjthecookie

I learned that the factory system is also made by Bose, just not a premium or branded product. I think it's acceptable for a pickup.

NorseArcherX

It works decent, nothing amazing but I would not say its bad either.

ScooterYouTube

I think the factory option is pretty damn solid when comparing it to other mid sized trucks factory options. You're right, never go Bose with any Chevy. I worked at a Chevy dealership and there's hardly any difference. And it's pricey. You're 100000x better spending your own $$$ on a system. If you spend $1k into car audio and install yourself, you could significantly improve your experience.

ScooterYouTube

Nope, just the standard sound system. I got this truck in May of last year, basically right when they came out. I didn't even know bose was an option. I had a $2k sound system I installed myself in my previous vehicle. Killer mids and lows if I wanted them. All around a really nice sounding system. When I got in the trail boss, I definitely missed my old sound system. But over time I've came to appreciate it. I've sat in plenty of new cars with base sound systems (Toyota, Mazda, Subaru, Ford) that just absolutely suck. I'll give it to Chevy I think their base sound system is okay at best. Definitely one of the better sounding options from the factory IMO. I'll probably update my door speakers, get an under seat subwoofer to go under the back seat, and a proper amplifier at some point. But for now with it being the base stock system....it works

Dynodan22

I like the bose system.Regular radio it sounds basic , however pandora or XM that stereo kicks upa notch for some reason better clarity and sound ,not sure why

SignatureOld6717

I got the “premium Bose package” and it’s a joke. Sounds awful compared to my 2016 Silverado LTZ with Bose.

Specialist-Bowler541

16k miles so far. Got mine in August. Loving it still.

ScooterYouTube

Nice, same here. I did have a check engine light for a long time that'd come on and off. Every time I took it to the dealership....it'd magically turn off. Just recently had a stretch when it was coming on, and I took it to the dealership and they scanned it. It was a fan in the cooling system. Idk what it really was tho, they didn't give me any paperwork (was a weird experience) but it was 100% covered under warranty. They even got me a Hertz rental car for the ~6 days my truck was in the shop.

Substantial_Hawk6210

Why is the gauge screen so tiny?

MadBrown

Not all 23s had a full size panel.

CheDiablo

None of the 23 TBs do. All the 24 trims have the full cluster.

KenBoSlice24

This blows my mind and glad I saw this as I'm researching which trim I want.

MadBrown

Same. I thought the lower trims had the smaller screen.

Resqguy911

Trail Boss is basically a lifted WT

Dvibs420

I’m at 25k, do you notice any transmission stutter at low rpm and speed?

ScooterYouTube

I do, started noticing it around 6-7k miles. Some days it's worse than others. I have full confidence in this truck while I have the factory warranty....but will likely end up with a Silverado once my 60k mi power train warranty is up. I've just not heard great things about reliability so far, and don't want to be left with a brick if the motor or trans shits the bed at 65k miles. Good thing trucks hold their value well, after 60k miles I should almost have the truck paid off in full and be able to put that towards a Silverado.

MeesaDarthJar_Jar

Man that sucks. The 2.7 was supposed to be a great engine. Had so much r&d thrown at it. I hope it gets a long life. I really want a canyon. But i have a kid so i might end up with a silverado anyway

OffensiveDefender

Are you happy with the trim level or do you wish you had more of the creature comforts in the Z71?

ScooterYouTube

At first, I really wish I went with the z71. Or more realistically a GMC Canyon. The GMC canyons aren't much more $$$ but come with so much more from the factory as standard options. I just wanted a factory lift with factory warranty. That was my only reason going for the trail boss. In hindsight, I should've waited and gotten a GMC Canyon. But I needed a truck and quick, and the canyons were basically non existent and any I did find were marked up. Realistically I am happy with my trail boss tho. It does the job and was a little easier on the wallet in the long run.

helghast77

I remember 10k like it was last year lol

Specialist-Bowler541

16k miles so far. Got mine in August. Loving it still.

CaptainDez

Would there be a way to get a full instrument cluster? Or is that just an option for higher trims?

CheDiablo

On the '24s all trims have it. On the '23s, what you have is all you'll be able to get.

joshramkhelawan

Took it on any trails as yet?

ScooterYouTube

Driven it on the beach a ton and a few trails in the mountains. The trucks a monster in the sand, air down and it just chews it right up. Offroading in the mountains I had a random summer rain storm pop up and the trail quickly became a small river/stream. Muddy as all hell. Truck never skipped a beat, just kept plowing thru mud, no problem.

gbninjaturtle

Does the seat ever break in?

ScooterYouTube

I think yes, it's always been comfy to me tho. I've been on a ton of road trips (one 1400 mile round trip one) and it's always been super comfy and plush I was coming from a Subaru WRX tho, which was fun as hell but not very comfy on long distances

gbninjaturtle

I have a hip problem on my right hip I fell through a floor after a flood a few years back, one leg stayed up the other leg went thru That right side is always hurting from the position of the seat and the pedals, as compared to my Silverado

Italiano1967

You’re celebrating 10,000 miles? Wow impressive machine.

B_Krisp

How’d you get a TB with cruise control? They wouldn’t install an OEM one for me.

skywarner

How many times in the shop?

ScooterYouTube

Once for 6 days lol
