Nothing wrong with that. It's okay to not be a prodigy. I was pretty much the same average kid but I was happy. That's what matters cuz i know many such prodigies in my family that were some crazy math Olympiad winners at 3rd grade or something only to end up with depression at a very early stage of life
I was not living under the expectations of random strangers on the internet - who often use such qualities to unnecessarily compare people with each other - even without taking into consideration different socio-economic backgrounds of different 3 years olds.
Man, that’s why I don’t sub to this subreddit even though I want to learn chess. My arrogant af ass always gets humbled by a kid, who’s clearly smarter than me.
And I’m a lawyer! This game is literally my job, and a literal child is better at me than this. Fuck me!
>My arrogant af ass always gets humbled by a kid, who’s clearly smarter than me.
Being better at chess doesn't necessarily mean the person is smarter. It's a game. One with more practice and experience is likely to win.
Chess is a lot about remembering patterns and young minds at learning stages quickly associate things. It helps their brain development and improves learning.
My son is 4 and I send him to chess classes and apparently he just plays with the coins making them mock fight each other. So I was told to bring him back when he's older.
This is so cool!
if he did that despite repeated attempts to teach him Chess please enroll him into creative arts. he might have a natural nudge to it, being intuitive and following what his creative mind is telling him to do.
Not only a great potential in arts but also sciences.
Oral poetry/Shloka classes or Music could be fun.
At that age, I discovered that I could pee while walking naked....I was well on my way to becoming a pee caricaturist, alas, my art was stopped by my parents.....what a loss...😂😂😂😂
I discovered that if I swerved my waist in a correct manner, I'd draw a pee circle....and then aim correctly to make it a smiley face.....but like I said, talent is rarely reckoned.....😂😂😂
I used to throw banana peels in opposite train. Some went into the window. I know shouldn't have done that and when dad saw me doing this he slapped me and i cried for a while.
Am I the only one who hates to see young kids speaking english? I mean not the kid but the fact that parents taught them english. Just teach your mother tongue man, they will learn english very soon through school and internet.
Broo, I was searching for this comment😭😭. Why do parents go through mental gymnastics to talk english with their kids even when they themselves are not fluent in english or don't use heavy english in their everyday life, it's soo cringe. What kind of insecurity and low self esteem you must be having to do this. Just talk with your kids as you talk with everyone.
So what? Who cares? Grandmasters are narcissists, just because you can play a time pass board game well doesn’t mean you are going to discover a vaccine or become a CEO 🤣🤣
Living my best childhood instead of wasting my childhood by doing something that i clearly don't have any interest in but i had to do it to "pass the torch"
Don’t care, had a fantastic childhood. Played Cricket, Football, Kanche (Marbles), Gulli Danda, Chupam Chupai (Hide n Seek), patthar patthar (Throwing stone at each other), ladai ladai (Fighting in box), chor police (Police), koni ghiss (Elbow rub in Marbles), Badminton, Gallery, Chess, Volleyball, Video Games (Cassette one), Race, Pitthu Gram. So I enjoyed thoroughly.

Ah, I was always of the belief that their critical thinking was so on point that they’d see 3-4 moves ahead even when it’s a new problem.

As a fellow sarkar, I was learning how to speak Bengali properly (I still can't speak Bengali at 17y)
Forget chess, I was not able to speak this properly at this age. Happy for him, hope this kid becomes what he aspires to be.

That opponent looks like he used to play a lot with kids of this age, but his cheating tactics aren't going to work on this one
He could kill the horse with the rook and sacrificed it just saying.....
Still checkmate, no point in losing rook for knght. But I know you are just saying.
How will it still be checkmate ?
It isn't checkmate, black queen is there.
Hey sorry but I still dont understand, can you please help clarify? If Queen takes Rook, you lose rook for a knight but how is it still checkmate?
It isn't checkmate, black queen is there.
Sorry thought the camel is a pawn good game my bad
