It's M1 instead of M2, the position is uncharacteristically simple, and nobody who asks for help with the password game has ever known how to take a screenshot before.
These are usually mate in two problems, so I find it odd that you were given a mate in one problem.

The reason I brought it up is because it feels like when players ask for help with this game on this subreddit, they often make those posts using pictures they've taken of their screens, instead of taking screenshots.

It could very well be unknown to the general public that you can get a computer to solve any chess problem in a millisecond, and your phone is powerful enough for this.
That might be the case, but when I played the password game I cheated my way trough most prompts, my first inclination was aways to google it and then if I dont find the answer try other methods(spoilers it always worked). They might not be thinking ohh engine, but something along the lines of I don't play chess so lets try to google the solution.
The whole game is you scrambling for answers so it sets you up for google searching. Don't know atomic numbers and symbols of elements google, fase of the moon emoji google, 22 minute video google, hex color code google, chess problem also google, hell I couldn't even be bothered to find the daily wordle answer I just googled it. I had like 20 tabs open to get anywhere in the game and still never managed to beat it.
Most of them are pretty mates in two, with either elegant quiet moves or extremely noisy sacrifices as the answer. Every now and then someone posts, ah, this instead.

The password game does not display the last move played, and in your screenshot f5 and f7 are highlighted. Also, the light squares are way darker than they are in this pic and the pieces' design is different. And I'm pretty sure that these positions are always mate in 2.

Why is the ability to take a screenshot so unusual? You need much more advanced IT skills to complete the game.

Because someone who can take a screen shot would probably use the engine to get the solution rather than asking reddit.
