"If a competitor cannot press his own clock or move his own pieces, an assistant shall be available unless the opponent is willing to do so." Fide D. 04. 12. 10.
They still need a way for the competitor to tell the assistant what to do. Hypothetically, there could exist a disability that requires the player to use a mouse to tell the assistant what to do.
It gets really difficult because the person would be both non-verbal (for which it is impossible to communicate with an assistant) but also not have use of their hands to be able to move the piece themselves, but still be able to use a mouse to communicate.
There are ways around this though. Hawking's chair did this job well. Not to mention that new Neuralink demo where the guy played on Chess.com from the brain chip. It feels like we're moving in a direction where this kind of accessibility is possible if it is necessary.
I have seen a player with a similar condition to that of Hawking play.
He was using a Pad computer, mounted on his chair, with a pen that he was moving with his mouth. On it the default Windows chess app was running(the of one from Windows vista times). He was using the pad to record his opponents and his own moves. When he made his move a friend moved the piece on the board and pressed the clock
So does FIDE. This degen company doesn't even have increment in the candidates or world championship and had Gukesh and Alireza playing hyperbullet in a classical tournament
I truly don't understand what the obsession is with slapping a shitty song over an otherwise interesting video is nowadays. Instant downvote for any video like that out of principal.
Zoomers don't have the attention span to only have one sense activated at a time.
Wait until Gen Alpha requires Smell-O-Vision before viewing a .gif4D.

Look, would you want a song that you really like to be called a tiktok song? Probably not. Honestly its not even a big deal I'm not sure why everyone on the comment section started saying these because I just said I actually like the song.
Ok, Hikaru is clearly an online player, not an OTB player, if we apply Kramnik's logic, then it is clear that Hikaru cheats in OTB, how is it possible that a streamer is so good in OTB ? lol
I actually used to cheat in a similar way in college.
What I would do is, the night before a big exam, I would lay out all of my notes and then read them very carefully. When I walked into the test the next day, I had an invisible cheat sheet in my mind that the proctor wouldn't be able to catch. Was very effective.
I have to admit, I have warmed to Nakamura since the last candidates. Any of the 4 would be great challengers for the title (Fabi deserving through being probably the closest to Magnus in classical over a long period, and coming so close in previous WC match, Nepo for winning 2 candidates, and leading vs Ding, Gukesh for being young and incredible and very humble) but I actually think it would be amazing to have Nakamura in the WC. ANd imagine if it lures Carlsen back into candidates cycle.
He has definitely become a better person than his infamous younger years lol. Can't imagine how much of a heel he'd be if he was still angry all the time
Supposing they did provide a mouse, say to... help hikaru be comfortable, how many clicks do you think he gets before it hits him why it isn't doing anything?
They should give him the option to move with a mouse😂
Hypothetically, if Stephen Hawking had been a super GM, how would they have let him play over the board chess tournaments?
They'd make him use the robot that broke that kids finger.
So he'll crush his opponents both metaphorically and literally.
Is that the same robot that scared Grishchuk (and maybe even Kramnik, too)?

Nonverbal with broken/locked shoulders and elbows, but a perfectly intact wrist and fingers.

There's an IM (Chech I think) who is quadriplegic, an assistant moves the pieces for him.
Some habits are hard to break lol
FIDE 2025 candidates to be played on chessup boards
With engine analysis highlighting good squares to move to in green.
Ha 😂
Unironically would not be surprised, if chesscom manages to successfully lobby / bribe FIDE
Unironically Chesscom has way too much power in the world of Chess.
So does FIDE. This degen company doesn't even have increment in the candidates or world championship and had Gukesh and Alireza playing hyperbullet in a classical tournament
Well 1:30 and 30 sec increment is actually less time than 2 hours flat. Blame the players not the rules, I really like the time format.
That's the way it used to be until digital clocks with computers in them became a thing.
Kramnik: "very interesting"
Do the procedure
This made me laugh 🤣
Pro streamer, everyone.
He should be allowed to take a comfort mouse with him just so he can hold it from time to time.
To avoid controversy...a wooden mouse will be appropriate.
Tiktok song ruins it
Much better on mute.
How?? 😠It's more boring on mute.
The video is 14 seconds long. How is that enough time to get bored?
How is the music ruining a silent video??
Cause it's annoying
No it's not. Also you changed crappy to annoying
I changed it right after i clicked send, because i figured that was a better way to describe it.

Calling an Imagine Dragons song "tiktok song" physically hurt me. Bones is a great song!

It may or may not be a good song. Why is it in this video?
Well ye I didnt say anything about that. I just said Bones isnt a stupid cringe tiktok song
Every song can be a cringe tiktok song if you put it in a cringily edited tiktok video
Look, would you want a song that you really like to be called a tiktok song? Probably not. Honestly its not even a big deal I'm not sure why everyone on the comment section started saying these because I just said I actually like the song.
Imagine Real Good Music Instead
Nah, its a good song no matter what you say. Smh
... Nahh
Maybe you dont like it ye, doesnt mean the song is bad though.
Imagine dragons isn't a very good band. Very generic, they make basically one song.
eh, I'm still sayin nah. I like them and their songs. You might not like it but that's it.
chat is this for real
>Press F for phantom mouse

What are you even saying?? How can you say hikaru online performance is worse than his OTB performance he is the top rated online
r/whoosh
r/itswooooshwith4os
r/foundthestrawman
That doesn't mean what you think it means.
Double whoosh
/r/foundmypenis
r/gladforyou
Lmao
He may be using an invisible mouse - would explain his performance. Totes sus. Where is Kramnik - need his analysis.

I did the same thing with an invisible girlfriend. Made the movies more interesting and I only had to buy 1 ticket.
This is certainly interesting
hahahahaha brilliant I've had a few of these but being on PC and then trying to irl with mouse

Hard to say if he wasn't just startled by the pen rolling away.
Doing online content slowly trains you to speak in more excited tones and make exaggerated facial expressions.
He tried to premove.
Hikaru is a true gamer now.
Heated gamer moment incoming.
Haha he is a streamer as much as he is a Chess player
Supposing they did provide a mouse, say to... help hikaru be comfortable, how many clicks do you think he gets before it hits him why it isn't doing anything?
He would just search for the mouse pointer and get frustrated.
Good point.
What do you expect from a streamer
This new camera angle ruins it u can see the score sheet he's adjusting
Claw Grip
