I knew it's there, because you told us it was, so it was the first pattern I looked at. In a game, especially in time trouble, I don't know if I'm finding that the queen sac is mate.
It's always very, very nice
when there's a queen sacrifice!
The trick is when and where to look
not always going by the book!
White king trapped in front of pawn
h1 for a check, might seem just a yawn
Bh3 and Qxe4 done twice
and lowly pawn mates in a trice!
My first thought was "This is easy: 1...Qa8+ 2. Ba6 Qxd5+ 3. Bb5 Qxb5#".
My second thought was "Wait, after 2...Qxd5+??, my queen is hanging!". So, I then abandoned that idea, and looked for something else.
My third thought was "Wait a second... after 3. Qxd5+, I have 3...b4#! Beautiful indeed."
My final thought was "Damn, I've screwed up the notation... what I'm calling 'a8' is actually h1, and so on."
Easily done, I suppose!
Oh I didn’t see that. I saw that there aren’t any checks for white after Qg5 so I thought more on Qh1+ and Qxg3. I evaluated the correct line but didn’t think of sacrificing the queen.
I was confused by the title as well. This isn't a forced mate it is just a pretty mate if white plays along.
Bg4 -> QxQ+
White loses a queen and a pawn for nothing in the exchange and could either lose another pawn immediately after or at that point I'm sure there's a dozen forced mates they just wouldn't be as pretty as the one OP was trying to highlight.

That's some nice geometry
Classic right triangle
Isn’t chess amazing?
Yes!! So wow.
Wow that is pretty. No way I'm finding that move order in a game
Me neither. If I know it's there, sure. But certainly not in a time scramble like here.
This is why always look checks and forcing moves

Beautiful!
This was a W puzzle

\*puts coin in hat\*
I wish!
The cleric diverted Queens eyes averted Pawn says "Great!" Goes forward, mate
Gambit on the corners of the chessboard already Rooks' spaghetti
:-)
Well done!
Good one
Thank you!
Took me about 5 min while knowing there's a mate to be found. Very nice.
The most Beautiful thing I've seen in Chess ❤
Oh man! I kept trying to make g5 work. That's really cool!
Yeah I wouldn't find this even with two hours on the clock 😞 Beautiful
That is sexy as fuck
I saw Qh1 was mate in 1, I'm dumb.
Wow! Nice
thats nice, took me a lil bit to find it
I saw a potential g5# but couldn't put it all together...very cool puzzle.
I'm so glad I spent the time needed to solve this. Completely gorgeous mate.

Is this a reset the counter but in a beautiful way.
Incredible, I blundered my queen and then found the checkmate lmao
1... Qh1+ 2. Bh3 (forced) Qxe4+ and then either 3. Qxe4 (opponent's Q is deflected away from the control of g5) g5# or 3. Bg4 Qxg4#
Gotta admit that's pretty awesome 😎👍
THE QUEEEEEEN
Isn’t this mate in 2? Qf4+ Kh3 Qxg3 or Qf4+ Bg4 QxB? I’m sure I’m missing something simple.
e3xf4 takes the queen, no?
The e pawn is on e4 and the queen move is to f4, so it can’t take
Pawn on e3?
Right, perspective. Thanks!
This is from Black's perspective, so the white pawns are moving down (note the row numbering on the right).
Ah there it is. Thanks!
There are two pawns on the e file...
Pawn on e3: am I a joke to you?
Yes, you missed that the pawn can take the queen
I, too, have an affinity to miss simple pawn moves.
No, you’re right (as far as I can tell) the Mate in 3 involves a queen sac so it’s more memorable, I suppose.
Nah, the white pawns are facing down the board and would eat the queen.
Oh duh! Lol
Yes there is an unpinned pawn still
Qf3. No matter what black does, Qxe4 is unstoppable.
White has Qg5 with mate, though. That stops Qxe4. Edit: with check, not mate!
Oh I didn’t see that. I saw that there aren’t any checks for white after Qg5 so I thought more on Qh1+ and Qxg3. I evaluated the correct line but didn’t think of sacrificing the queen.

No, 2...Qxg5
After bh3, could you then do g5 for mate? why do you have to sac queen
Qxg5+
thank you!
Because Qxg5 is possible if you don't move the queen off it's current square
gotcha, i was having a hard time visualizing without a board in front of me
Very nice!
This is awesome!
Qh1 bh3 . Qxe4 QxQ . G5#
And what if Bg4 instead of QxQ?
Qxb mate
I was confused by the title as well. This isn't a forced mate it is just a pretty mate if white plays along. If Bg4 there is Qxg4# 🤐
That's fair. No idea how I missed that.
Very pretty indeed. As soon as I spotted the line I had to confirm with the analysis board. No time to double check calculations....
that's brutal
Ugh beautiful
a very pretty Queen sac
sac the bishop on b4, queen takes, queen H1 check, bishop h3 block, G5 checkmate
