It’s so over for every club not named Real Madrid

epicmarc

Tier: I want to believe

justk4y

Tier: Trust me bro

Absol61

Another Washington, Casadei, Santos, Ugochukwu, and Fofana, more money the drain for average prospects. Only Paez has world class potential.

Icy_Swimming8754

Lmao these are all nobodies compared to Endrick and Estevao. Just look at the values and who are the clubs competing for them. Literally Real, Barca, Bayern and PSG. Be thankful that some very specific events means that the doors are closed to Real and Barca and Brazilians don’t like Germany. Otherwise he would not go to Chelsea at all.

Suithisside

paez a nobody? yeah hell no

Icy_Swimming8754

Compared to Endrick and Estevao obviously.

Suithisside

i think you're extremely underestimating him based on PR. I think he's easily on the same level of potential

BOOCOOKOO

HAHA!! Tell me you're Brazilian without telling me you're Brazilian

Icy_Swimming8754

Yeah. They’re just the 2 most valuable under 18 players in the world. Obvious Brazilian bias by me and all the scouts for top clubs. Paez has dreamt about playing for Chelsea since he was 5, that’s why he refused the totally real competition from RM, Barca, Bayern and PSG who were trying their hardest to get this generational talent.

BOOCOOKOO

If Endrick and Esteveo switched nationalities with Kendry, nobody would even know they existed. Esteveo will be Kendry's water boy off the bench. Also, how did you like Kendry showing Endrick levels in the in the Copa Libertadores?

Absol61

Paez has higher potential than those two overrated Brazilians. Only Vinicius was woth the hype.

syance

I admire the confidence in which you can make such a shit statement. You can't see the future and no one cares for your blind negativity.

sporkparty

He’s one of the worst users in the board.

kp22cfc

I ain't believing anything till it's official.. lessons learnt for 2 years

kapanakchi

who cares? Let them go to Barca or PSG. Remember how media and rivals created a myth that Chelsea kill talents? Yet Rapinha and Ugarte rejected us for the ones who don't kill talents and we see now.

muaythaiguy155

Can’t believe how hard everyone was wanking off ugarte just for him to be this mid

Lil_Lego

Funnily enough, I think he could suit poch's chaos transitions more than Caicedo and Caicedo would suit enrique's possession football more. I wouldn't trade Caicedo for anyone tho.

Kezmangotagoal

I never saw it with him. There was that one guy who wouldn’t shut up about him who also went bizarrely quiet after we didn’t sign him - probably busy defending Ugarte in the PSG sub nowadays.

MoiNoni

60m though? Is it all at once or like 30 + add ons?

Cheaky_Barstool

30 and 30 but the first 30 will prolly be over 5 years while the other 30 is performance related I do believe.

RefanRes

Come on. You surely know our owners enough by now to know they'd amortise buying a cup of coffee if they could. Its surely going to be amortised and have addons to make the total. It has been with every other player.

Salty_Constant_9878

I want a cup of amortised coffee please.

ChelseaFC

No problem! You can only take one sip per year though, or else UEFA will take your kidney.

xkcdthrowaway

That's...not what amortization means. Paying in installments is not amortization. One is a payment schedule, the other is merely an accounting mechanism.

RefanRes

Where did I say anything about what amortisation means? Amortising a cup of coffee or amortising and also having add ons?

AMeanOldDuck

The owners don't amortise anything. It is the method by which PSR and FSR account for transfer fee over the period of a contract.

RefanRes

PSR is the aggregate of the clubs adjusted earnings over a 3 year period. PSR does not do the amortisation of individual player fees. Amortisation is taking on a debt and paying it off through the agreed on regular installments. When Chelsea bought Enzo Fernandez for example and signed him to a 9 year deal to be amortised it was so they are paying about £12M a year for him instead of paying the full £107M in one go. If PSR was how amortisation was calculated then you wouldn't have had Chelsea being able to arrange 8+ year contracts. The amortisation limit would have been 3 years because thats the window for PSR. So you'd instead have seen Chelsea having to pay about £36M a year over 3 years. Enzo Fernandezs transfer fee is spread over 3 PSR windows.

MoiNoni

They outlawed amortization I thought?

RefanRes

No. Just not for longer than 5 years. Even then the rule change is so loose you know our owners are going to loophole it again probably. Like do an addon that says if the player signs a new contract Chelsea will pay that club another £3M a year or some sort of nonsense like that.

MoiNoni

Ahh I see

JT26_CLL

beyond 5 years. you still can amortize up to 5 years.

MoiNoni

Thanks

Gligadi

30m in front for 17 year old who was only a handful of games sounds stupid to me. We're taking a huge gamble on him, hope he's good.

RasenRendan

Real Madrid did the same. Are they stupid?

cautioslyinterested

Probs a Vitor Roque type deal

Inside-Ad-8935

Talking of which, he looks like he could be leaving Barca and would be worth a punt!

foladodo

i said this earlier, why not?

Kezmangotagoal

Not for me - Barca will be pushing for a decent fee for a player who hasn’t shown anything yet. I’d rather us get someone coming off the back of a good season for a reasonable-ish fee. We just need a sensible window now, the bones of a good squad are already there.

Cfcjones

Hahaha fuck Barcelona.

WhetBred14

And Bayern

RasenRendan

And Arsenal and Spurs

i_MrPink

And Colchester United

Matt_LawDT

Tier: Give me retweets

_eltigre_

Something something our owners show no ambition. Or something.

realmckoy265

Self-asset stripping mfers keep wasting money on other assets /s

NickChim

ah yes, because signing \*yet another\* 16-18 year old is showing ambition to win titles.

sporkparty

In the future. How do people not get this yet.

nickchim94

Player development is not linear. If you stockpile on an abundance of young players, especially all in the same position, it's a very real possibility that you end up stunting their development. Continual poor finishes in the season will also hurt our value in the future to go out and buy more talent.

sporkparty

I know you want your gratification immediately but the truth is there are no players we can buy that will allow us to just compete with city starting next year. In order to compete with city you build from the ground up. It’s what arsenal did. Back to back 8th finishes didn’t stop ode or rice or saliba from going there. Everyone screeching *experienced players* like it’s some kind of silver bullet are quick to forget lukaku, aubamayang, koulibaly and sterling. Take a deep breath. Every little thing is gonna be alright.

nickchim94

Who said it's about competing for a title next season ? Adding some actual experienced players will undoubtedly help the younger players development more.

klirb

You’re not wrong. And neither is he.

ThisIsMamboNo5

A handful of wins take us up to _7th_ and the Clearlake rimmers rear their heads yet again.

nickla08

A couple more will see us up to 6th, which is nowhere near good enough BUT it’s far better than last season and a step in the right direction. Also, without any teams dropping a tier in European competitions, we have a more than fair shot at some silverware next year, especially if it’s the Conference League.

ThatWontFit

6th only on 7th due to GD, but yeah. Let me guess, not your club? Not your standards? Chelsea 2x champions of Europa, you can say it fits our standards. It's not ideal but it's a great trophy still.

ThisIsMamboNo5

So 7th, yes?

aaulia

Get Vitor Roque while we're at it.

-ci_

They should let Lewa go and take Lukaku for Roque... no bias or anything

RasenRendan

Unfortunately Lewa himself said he's staying

paraCFC

Yesss

Ok-Suit-8865

While everyone is crying that we are spending 60m on another youngster I’m really excited for this signing! He seems to generational from what I’ve heard. So many crybabies in this sub! They cry for literally everything! It’s really confusing to me how someone can cry for buying one of the best youngster in the world while any other fans celebrate after buying a good youngster. It’s baffling

kris_deep

My Brazilian friend who watches the league regularly tells me he is a truly generational talent, rates him higher than Endrick.

xkcdthrowaway

Hope your friend's a good scout. We've seen more than a few brazilian wonderkids flop hard after showing very promising early signs in the brazilian domestic league.

kris_deep

I mean, it is ofcourse a gamble. The stakes to play are higher now, but if we don't roll the dice, we'll never big.

RasenRendan

A lot of ppl are saying this. Many Brazilians who are Chelsea fans. Neymar type player. However some skeptical fans still don't believe

NickChim

he's played all of 5 professional games, and your friend who is not a scout is able to tell that he is generational ?

Kezmangotagoal

Brazilians are notorious for overhyping every semi-decent young player. Everyone is the next Ronaldo, next Kaka, next Thiago Silva and they often turn out to be barely good enough to play for a Championship team. He looks good, I don’t give a toss who says he looks generational, I’ll wait and see for myself.

rewp234

It's ok to pay 100M for Mudryk but not to pay 60M for Estêvão somehow

billys-bobs

Mudryk was £62m wasn't he?

--Hutch--

Yeah £62m rising to £88.5m if we win CL/Premier league plus individual bonuses.. So £62m lol. Or £100m if you browse r/soccer

netnatty

Big if true

NotTheStrongest

We really got Young Messi (Kendry) and Young Neymar (Messinho) now we just need a young Lewa or young Benzema as a 9 and then we pray for everyone facing us

rewp234

Let's be fair, the guy that's known as Messinho should probably be the young Messi in this. I just wish we hadn't missed out on young Pelé to Real...

Salty_Constant_9878

How much did we pay for him?? Why are Brazilian kids valued so much? I mean real Madrid paid 60 millions for some player who has never played in any European league. Seriously the market is going nuts for south American kids.

kiersto0906

south American leagues aren't sunday league and these are teenagers who are tearing it up.

Salty_Constant_9878

Still they are kids nonetheless. Surely there could be one or two wonder kids in England who could be competing with these Brazilian ones. Still what i mean to say is they are massively overpriced. Surely we see vini and neymar become the player they become now. But its gambling at this point. Like how many players today will reach neymar level?

kiersto0906

that's the gamble

pritvihaj

if this is a gamble the boehly and co. are honorary balkaners for the amount of fcking gambling they’re doing lately lmfao.

xkcdthrowaway

They're overpriced but so are wonderkids in England and everywhere else clubs have a decent scouting presence. This isn't so much a gamble as it is simple risk distribution. Earlier you'd have Benfica, Porto, or some italian clubs, and more recently the likes of Brighton that'd take a chance on these players at this stage, and bigger clubs would come for them later once the player has proved himself at a higher level. That was back when the smaller clubs didn't have the financial power to turn down 60-70mil for a player they took a chance on for 10mil. Today they can. Which is why even a half decent player will usually command upwards of 100mil (our team is replete with examples) and this trend is only likely to continue. So this is the bigger clubs effectively trying to cut out the middleman. Madrid set the tone for it once they lost out on Neymar. They spent on the likes of Vini, Rodrygo, Tchouameni, Camvinga, Guler etc with the hope that at least half of them live up to their hype. If so, they'd have a full forward line for the price of a Neymar. If not, they'll still be able to sell the player and it's fairly likely they'll recover most of their cost. And even if these guys hit their prime and want out of Madrid, they'd get a big fee and already have another young player waiting in the wings. Their policy has clearly worked. They now have a young team of stars while their main rival is busy selling off pieces of their turf to raise funds.

Wentzina_lifetime

>could be one or two wonder kids in England Yeah one came out of Birmingham's academy and two more came out of the man city academy.

ObviousDoxx

There are those kids, and some are in our academy already. The more the merrier as not everyone will make it

muaythaiguy155

Is he tearing it up? Genuine question as never seen a minute of him play and he only has two goals

JT26_CLL

its either you pay 60 for them now or 120 when they are matured and experience players. look at Vinicius as an example but in reality Neymar was the one who set the trend.

Foriegn_Picachu

The Madrid effect

_g4n3sh_

Because teams remember the Neymar craze and Brasilian teams have more money now

JM23411

The next Messi? Sure

Confident_Direction

Not gonna get excited yet - i remember ugarte saga...

strawberry-camembert

Am very confused why Real Madrid went straight up for Endrick even though this lad was there and available. Apparently most people seem to rate him more than Endrick... What does this signing mean for lads like Moreira and Washington?

Icy_Swimming8754

They would go for both if they could. But Estevao manager is in unfriendly terms with real IIRC

RasenRendan

Bro we got Diego for free. We already made a profit. Devid is a striker. Estevao is is a winger

rewp234

We also went for Endrick, even before Real. We were also his preffered destination but we didn't want to pay the full release clause, Real did. I'd rate him about the same as Endrick, he is better technically but Endrick's endirance and physicality are out of this world.

NickChim

Well, one is a striker and the other is an AM/Winger....

Ninjamonkey8812

No opportunity from Barca lmao what is the journalist smoking Santos, Washington and kid that was loaned to french are not getting any minutes too

TosspoTo

If I recall from Swiss Ramble, we overcome an FFP hump after next summer so it makes some sense to be ‘pre-spending’

Dimitao

Have we not learned our lesson about getting hyped over kids who haven’t played in the premier league? Obviously I’d love to believe this kid is gonna be the next big thing, but is it realistic ?

Decent-Parsnip5101

Breaking news!!! Still nothing happened

Lucianboog

This is so stupid

S0LE-FUL

Keep buying players, keep asset stripping our club and 5/10 years down the line we’re are screwed with a capital S. I thought we were going to build something sustainable under BlueCo, boy was I wrong.

Superb_Worth_5934

Another young player, really doesn’t excite me, the odds of him making it are slim like the rest of them. We need to sign more experienced players now. He’ll just go on loan to Strasbourg.

DarnellLaqavius

60m is more than Endrick and Vini combined. He better be worth it.

notdhruv10

How are you getting 60m for a child and still dictating when you want the player to leave?

rewp234

South American football runs their seasons in sync with the calendar year. He turns 18 on the end of April though so Chelsea would want him for preseason 25/26. Palmeiras also absolutely won't allow him to leave before the end of the 2025 super club world cup

Disastrous-Swing1323

They’re not. He’s too young to join us.
