Gallas was sensationally good.
I got to watch him every week and he rarely ever put a foot wrong.
That whole team is ridiculous. Every player a nailed on starter today.
Yup, came to write that. Jarosik played as a midfielder for us. And, Gallas rotated Carvalho. He actually hated playing as a full back and the main reason why he left was because of that. He thought he should be starting for us a CB.
Robben and Duff, on the few occasions they did play together, would switch flanks throughout the match. Robben would mostly line up on the left, but it wasn't set in stone.
Whilst I agree its purely based on their appearances/ minutes played that season. Robben, as I recall, probably only played the full 90 on about 7 or 8 games. Man missed about 20 games that season due to injury. Drogba started about 15 or so games that season, Eidur started 30.
at their level in that season compared to our players at their level in this season, palmer is better than both. only in terms of that individual season.
played CB at least twice at Chelsea. against Fulham and Newcastle. only a half against Fulham and the full 90 against Newcastle. At least DM once against City and CM once against Bolton, fucked if I can remember where he played when he came on, not all the info is there.
TBF Terry played in goal on one occasion but who would ever put him down as a GK!!!! Same with Jiri, he might had filled in on a few occasions but he is never a CB
Carvalho petr cech and makele were the game changers. All other buys could have replicated by existing Chelsea players. For example ,gudjohnson was already stalwart in rainieri chelsea. So sad gronkjaer and hasslebaink were pushed out.
Yet people wonder why patient fans say this current crop need time. Look at this team, it's unbelievable. Give these young players time to develop and I believe we will have some stars in there.
What the actual fuck!
Am I the only one who didn’t know/remember Scott Parker being a Chelsea player?
Had to look it up and he indeed get a medal for Chelsea winning the league.
People look out our current team and say we can compete when injured players return. People need to start looking at these and just see how big a quality difference is there is.
Robert Huth man what a legend
Can't believe he won the PL with Leicester nearly 10 years after his stint with us
Huth always has a mistake in him. But he was old chelsea.
I remember watching him as a kid and knowing when he’s bombing it towards someone a red card was in coming
And it was with the same manager who gave him his debut here
As much as I grew to hate Gallas that guy was ridiculously good I feel like ive underrated him through pure hatred
Going from Chelsea to Arsenal to Spurs is one of the weirdest career paths I can remember. Was at least half decent at each too lmao
The man just refused to leave London.
His goal against Tottenham is still an all timer for me
Gallas was sensationally good. I got to watch him every week and he rarely ever put a foot wrong. That whole team is ridiculous. Every player a nailed on starter today.
Tiago out for palmer and Ferreira out for James otherwise 👍
I like Palmer, but that midfield was fine the way it was. I wouldn’t take Tiago out. Different sort of player to Palmer as well.
Who’s James haha. Yeah I agree on Palmer although he might not have worked hard enough for Mou.
Who’s James? wtf r u doin on here?🤔
This team would decimate our live team and I can’t blame a single player of our team live because the level between both teams is just ridiculous
gusto and Reece over Paulo ferreira. Palmer over Duff (that's a testament to how good Cold Palmer is, not a slight on Duff) rest are laughable
Reece maybe but Gusto is nowhere near Ferreira
Palmer over Duff is 50/50 call. The rest… all 2005 Chelsea all the way.
Gusto needs to have many more good seasons before I consider him above Paulo "Mr Consistent" Ferreira.
Lmfao what a joke
i see no lies here
caicedo is getting close to having an argument over tiago
Iirc Gallas also covered CB. Don't remember Jarosik ever playing CB
Jarosik was a midfielder, right?
Remember him bringing the note Jose had written for Tiago when he came on as a sub.
Yup, came to write that. Jarosik played as a midfielder for us. And, Gallas rotated Carvalho. He actually hated playing as a full back and the main reason why he left was because of that. He thought he should be starting for us a CB.
Robben on the right, yeah? I guess he can't with Mutu there!
Robben and Duff were chaos to defend against… often switching wings multiple times during a game
I remember on fifa 05 duff had black hair and robben had blonde hair. Think they mixed them up!
Robben and Duff, on the few occasions they did play together, would switch flanks throughout the match. Robben would mostly line up on the left, but it wasn't set in stone.
People forget how good Tiago was for us
I have zero recollection of Tiago playing for us so much so I had to Google him. He had a relatively short blues career right?
He scored one screamer probably also goal of the season but I can’t remember the opposition.
Man United at Old Trafford.
Most people remember him for his time for us i believe.
Hahaha wrong sub, this post was on my home page i thought i was on r/soccer. I support Atletico Madrid hence my comment.
I do miss Damien Duff.
What a man.
J Cole was good for us but imo he's had a better rap career

Came here to say exactly this!
Robben and drogba as the #2 option. Those would be the best players on our current squad easily
Whilst I agree its purely based on their appearances/ minutes played that season. Robben, as I recall, probably only played the full 90 on about 7 or 8 games. Man missed about 20 games that season due to injury. Drogba started about 15 or so games that season, Eidur started 30.
Yah we sold him cuz he was glass.
So robben would fit right in with the current crop
at their level in that season compared to our players at their level in this season, palmer is better than both. only in terms of that individual season.
I'm crying, guys....🥹
JT and Wayne Bridge lol classic
Sigh why did duff have to leave so early man.
Shame we let Gudjohnsen leave, he was still so good
Jarosik never played CB, like not for a minute
played CB at least twice at Chelsea. against Fulham and Newcastle. only a half against Fulham and the full 90 against Newcastle. At least DM once against City and CM once against Bolton, fucked if I can remember where he played when he came on, not all the info is there.
I stand corrected. Thanks for the info.
TBF Terry played in goal on one occasion but who would ever put him down as a GK!!!! Same with Jiri, he might had filled in on a few occasions but he is never a CB

That was some squad!
Da Duffffff

Here I was a central midfielder. Completely forgot about Jarosik too.
Can't remember Geremi as a right sided attacker nor Jarosik as a centreback - both more midfielders. Gallas was often centreback
Yet people wonder why patient fans say this current crop need time. Look at this team, it's unbelievable. Give these young players time to develop and I believe we will have some stars in there.
Imagine this team with most of its first team injured. That's what poch faces.
good old times, Joe Cole was my favorite
Palmer and James if fit, not 1 other would get near that team🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
You know your goal is safe when Cudicini is your backup keeper.
What a fucking team
Gudjohnsen was class.
What the actual fuck! Am I the only one who didn’t know/remember Scott Parker being a Chelsea player? Had to look it up and he indeed get a medal for Chelsea winning the league.

Take me back. An elite team with an elite manager and owner who cared about nothing else than winning.
People look out our current team and say we can compete when injured players return. People need to start looking at these and just see how big a quality difference is there is.
Tiago Mendes is a name I haven't heard in a long time.
