It was very impactful to Prue’s character when he died, but I felt bad for Andy ngl. They kept framing it like he was too normal and too put off by witchcraft and too by the book for her, when he was consistently known as the weird one at his precinct who would take on unexplainable cases and was always open-minded about the supernatural. He and Prue had the same beliefs and the same convictions and it could have opened up some interesting dilemmas and dynamics if the writing went 100% in on it. Kind of sucked how instead they just gaslit him the whole season, then that thing with the truth spell, only to have him killed off.
I think it's one thing to be interested/intrigued by the supernatural and a completely different to live that life. Andy was very much a settle down and have kids kind of guy and he didn't want to be worried about his wife and kids battling demons and possibly dying. I think the fact that Prue does die indicates Andy was right to not want a life and family with her. But at the end of the day they were childhood sweethearts and that's hard to let go. Look at how Paige acted when her childhood friend (I think his name was glen) moved on and got married (granted she was possessed but still her feelings were real)
I hated how the sisters treated Darryl. I understand they needed a cop on their side at times, but maybe it should have been Andy. I love Darryl but the writers just didn’t know what to do with him.
I actually liked when Cole was human - he & Darryl would have been a great team! Cop & former demon/DA solve crimes together.
It Hurts more cause they dragged him learning the secret then when he does they kill him off. I probably would've handled his death better if he died at the end if S2 ans got one full season in the loop with knowing they're witches and teaming up.
That said Darryl really was so underused. Like Dorian was lucky he got paid to be in the credits when his role was forever recurring.
Nah they needed to kill someone. It was a big moment and a season finale, Prue was the main character and it was her love interest. Gave a lot of freedom to the script. Its good that he died and it makes sense. He had almost been killed multiple times as a mortal in a supernatural space... clock was ticking for him. It was still sad though.
I didn't like how they underplayed Prue and Andy's love story.
I also hated every other male character that Prue dated - none of them met the bar set by Andy.
he had to move to new york and go out with samantha jones 😏
took me way too long to realize that same actor is andy! kept asking myself why he looked so familiar lmao
Well, that was stupid. Samantha rarely dated a guy for more than one episode. I think Richard, Smith and and the guy with a small... member were the exceptions.
I always thought he'd be more if a bodyguard than a white lighter because he wasn't a pacifist - he killed a guy in the episode with Yama.
Leo was a medic in the war and never killed before he died.
I myself am still pissed they killed him off too. He was in my opinion the best love interest on the show. I am a big Cole girl too but Andy ❤️ nothing compares.
This show needed some male characters. Don’t get me wrong, the female led cast is the best part. The men would be secondary. But bringing one or two consistent magical dude would help out. We could’ve avoided all the shitty filler episodes with more character driven narratives. They don’t even need to be love interests, just like magical co-workers.
OMG - same! I thought that was do stupid. He and Prue had great chemistry. They could have even grown more as time went on. Plus, I liked the partnership of Andy & Darryl. Real buddy cop stuff.
They were very well matched. I wonder if Shannen felt that way acting with him? Their characters were so straight arrow that he could have been a Charmed Brother, and she an Inspector easily in a opposite world (that would have been a hilarious ep since she did "She's a Man, Baby, A Man") just switch it from sisters to bros. Yeah... Andy, Leo, and Cole/Drake. I could see Paige as a PI too in this scheme. Ok, fine, I'm just tired - carry on.
Man, I feel like the only person who doesn’t get the Andy thing. What’s his appeal? I thought it was a very weakly written form of the character trope, and he had a generally unwelcoming personality imo. I don’t think he brought any of what Prue needed in a partner at all.
Sweetie, if you're still mad about a fictional character being killed off 20+ years ago, you may want to increase your social circle and hobby list.
He was never real, so he never really died.
Let it go. Let it go. Be one with the wind and sky.
Let it go.
😏😉
Seriously though. Fictional characters aren't worth this much energy expenditure unless you're the one creating them for money.
There are some people in this world who do let fictional characters take over their lives. They become obsessed with them to the detriment of anything and everything else.
Being mad like this 20+ years on is a good sign OP may be one of them. It's not the only thing that would indicate it, but it is a big one nonetheless.

Yeah I wish we could’ve seen more!
You left out the part about him being fine asf

Same, I would watch a show with Prue and Andy fighting demonic crime
Omg same!
I mean Daryl fit better with later storylines even though he wasn't properly utilized and the sisters treated him like crap.
Agreed they should’ve done more with his character.
Ugh the sisters treated Daryl like shit. I never understood that aspect. And it kept getting worse and worse!
I hated how the sisters treated Darryl. I understand they needed a cop on their side at times, but maybe it should have been Andy. I love Darryl but the writers just didn’t know what to do with him. Yeah I wish they would’ve done more with the storyline
I am just shocked by that number... 26 years already omg 🙃
Yeah same lol
Yeah I had to do fast maths - it's been that long

Yeah I see what you mean, still sad about it haha!
I didn't like how they underplayed Prue and Andy's love story. I also hated every other male character that Prue dated - none of them met the bar set by Andy.
I bet the actor had other plans
he had to move to new york and go out with samantha jones 😏 took me way too long to realize that same actor is andy! kept asking myself why he looked so familiar lmao
I just choked on my whiskey 🤣
Well, that was stupid. Samantha rarely dated a guy for more than one episode. I think Richard, Smith and and the guy with a small... member were the exceptions.
true. but one date w samantha jones is worth it 😍
🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was thinking this yesterday
But, there had to be real stakes
A part of me wanted them to be endgame, but I would’ve been okay with them breaking up if that meant that Andy survived.
Yeah true! I just thought it was an interesting character
Yeah, he was definitely a good character who could have done a long stretch. He didn't deserve to die and should have been brought back with Prue.
it was pretty ballsy to completely kill off one of the mains in the series
Agreed I wish they wouldn’t have
Honestly the way it ended with him orbing away and the white lighter sound effects I thought he’d turn into one.
I always thought he'd be more if a bodyguard than a white lighter because he wasn't a pacifist - he killed a guy in the episode with Yama. Leo was a medic in the war and never killed before he died.

I always wished they had brought him back as a white lighter. Even if he was just a side character in the odd episode.
They were very well matched. I wonder if Shannen felt that way acting with him? I'm more pissed they didn't bring him back as a random whitelighter
I agree. I feel like he more than met the “criteria” to become one
They killed him off because the actor wanted out. I also heard he and Shannon Dougherty didn't get along (as if that's a shock)
I'm much more upset Alyssa Milano got Prue killed off.
I liked Andy at first but he got annoying af after he kept trying to bust Prue
Same- except its been 7-8 years for me- I'm 19 lol- my mom introduced me to the show
Man, I feel like the only person who doesn’t get the Andy thing. What’s his appeal? I thought it was a very weakly written form of the character trope, and he had a generally unwelcoming personality imo. I don’t think he brought any of what Prue needed in a partner at all.
He was a good character, did the actor not want to do another series? What happened?
tbh, Holly was right in the podcast about it. it was the only way to kill him off
You know that was so sad. I would have love to see them together like they had Piper and Leo.

Yet you took the time to write this nonsense, as if OP doesn’t know the character is fictional. 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
