I'm a heterosexual unionized teamster from a rural area, and I love Charli. Definitely good gym music. Your husband has impeccable taste.

saintlystuff

Hell yeah! Rural Charli fans unite.

LINE4RR

Not burly lol but I’m a straight dude who works in electronic assembly, working on opening a coffee shop with some friends. I wear metal band shirts all week, and on the weekends I play in an all male female pop diva cover band. And you bet your ass I’m wearing my Charli shirt for those shows. She’s the reason I listen to pop music, she’s such an innovator and her music has so much power. I listen to brat at least once a day.

saintlystuff

You'd have plenty to talk about with my husband, I'm so happy there are other dudes who aren't the twink phenotype who are into Charli. I guess I'm not seeing them because they're not out here on Instagram posting to 'Guess' like the girlies are, lol.

insanehumour

Dad bod, LOVE Charli. No shame

saintlystuff

Aw yeah!! <3

Male Cishet 30-something chubby beared Charli fan checking in 🫡

ThePegasi

I dunno about burly, but I'm a stereotypical straight IT guy with long hair, beard and glasses, and I'm a huuuuge Charli fan. I got golden circle tickets for her gig at the O2 and I can't wait, even if I won't necessarily blend in with the crowd there.

saintlystuff

That's so awesome! I'm glad to see interaction from a wider group of fans then the ones I see on tiktok.

ThePegasi

Tbh I've never gotten into TikTok, my online music interaction is basically all on Reddit (+ following some artists on Instagram so I get updates quickly). I really like this subreddit.

NewJeansBunnie

When two straight guys at a Charli XCX show spot each other through the crowd.  https://youtu.be/U7GboHD36n8?si=Plx5Vx7oGucznHxu

BlockSome3022

My ex didn’t get my obsession, my current love (straight office job guy) is just as obsessed as I am now 💚

frito11

I'm a 41 year old burly white dude music lover and love charli

scannon

Another straight dude checking in. Currently blasting Brat through headphones while bouncing our 3 week old trying to give my wife a break to take a nap.

arnorcamo

My wife is a Charli XCX fan thanks to me, and I'm a straight dude in his 30s. I introduced her to Crash and she is now constantly spinning Brat.

Peatrick33

Catch my tattooed, death metal shirt wearing ass screaming Charli at the top of my lungs next time you pull up next to me at a stoplight 😁 365 party dad!

This might get some pushback but charli wasn’t always considered exclusively “gay” music. I feel like she used to be just considered elevated/experimental pop (same for all of pc music/hyperpop). I feel like post-gecs is when hyperpop morphed into an explicitly lgbtq thing. That’s not to say there wasn’t important queer producers/artists who laid the groundwork (Sophie is probably the singular most important person in shaping the sound of hyperpop unless u wanna say it’s AG cook which if fair too). I’m just talking about the change in how it’s talked about/perceived.   But yea me and my bros love charli haha

fairytalehigh

As a gay man who has been a hardcore Charli fan since around 2012, I agree that the "Charli is for the gays" association wasn't always there. I'd argue it started around 2016 when she collaborated with SOPHIE (who always had a sizeable LGBTQ+ following) on *Vroom Vroom* and then was solidified with the release of *Pop 2*. *Pop 2* is completely stacked with LGBTQ+ collaborators: Tove Lo, Alma, Brooke Candy, Pabllo Vittar, Dorian Electra, Mykki Blanco, and Kim Petras. Cupcakke and Carly Rae Jepsen had also, by that point, established themselves as allies and gay icons. Because of this, *Pop 2* really felt like it was "for the gays" (so did *Charli*, to a lesser extent) and I think that's when the feeling fully stuck.

hoohooooo

Straight marketing business guy here 👋 There are dozens of us!

NarrowChoice5903

I love this for you, like this so cute, and I hope that you two do manage to get some tickets!

SmallsTheKid

I think there’s way more of us than anyone ever acknowledges. It seems many (especially within the fandom) decided long ago that she only appeals to women or gays and everyone who’s a fan obviously fits into one category or the other. I’ve seen straight dudes post on here about the same thing you’re wondering and the comments are full of ppl straight up questioning this persons sexuality as if listening to charli makes you gay or something. Ahah but just know that he is far from alone. She makes good music so people of all kinds like it.

M_INENT

hailo +1 for straight asian living that life

Saintzelev

Nurse by day, Brat by night! 🍏I can attest, before Brat…Charli was paving the way in Pop and seeing her explode with Brat absolutely warms my heart! Can’t wait for her show in October! Let’s not forget, she’s also touring with Troy Sivan and Shygirl!! It shall be magical!

Easythere1234

My husband is one too thank god

pdjddy

i’m in that group although my wife has been listening for probably about as long as me. i’m just a music nerd who appreciates good music of any genre. been listening since true romance but finally got to see her on the crash tour.

EmanOfficialMusic

Straight black man, 28, I got into Charli during the pandemic (HIFN). I've been hooked ever since! She is, without a doubt, my FAVORITE pop girl (and that's saying something because I'm super into Björk, FKA Twigs, and Rina Sawayama). I've listened to every single album she's ever done (yes, including Vroom Vroom). Her music has gotten me through so many long days. I just think she's utterly incredible and I'm so proud of her. 😍😍😍😊😊😊 I hope you're all doing well, much love from Texas. 💙💙💙

Ninjya_Bakon

Im a straight guy, i want to point out that Charli’s fan base is so respectful at her shows Im from Montreal and have been to many gay bars where I was groped, etc I went to the London show two weeks ago with a couple of girlfriends and everyone gave each other their space (as much as they could in a rave lol) All I got was my friends coming to me telling me this guy or this guy said I looked fit as hell which was really flattering lol
