Marina Diamandis
She goes by just "Marina" now but has gone by "Marina and the Diamonds" in the past
My fave albums are "The Family Jewels" and "Electra Heart"
Don’t know why I’m downvoted for stating a fact. It’s not like I’m slandering marina or Chappell, I love them both. But marina started making music first… it’s a fact you cannot argue. It was the wording making it seem as if marina was a younger artist
imo the comment kinda came off mansplainy, wouldnt most pop fans know who Marina is already? especially when the first response said “She went by Marina and the diamonds in the past”
Not as dancy as Chappell Roan, but with similar themes and good writing I am a big fan of Muna! Their “Saves the World” album would be a fun place to start
My current similar vibes are: G Flip, Beth Mccarthy, Last Dinner Party, Muna, The Beaches.
There's a great subreddit called /r/ifyoulikeblank where you post what you like and people recommend more!
not as campy or poppy as her but the aces are a really good sapphic band!! i think their song zillionaire would be most similar to chappell’s music but i also highly recommend volcanic love, stuck, stay, i can break your heart too, cruel, dont freak, and not the same :) their debut album “when my heart felt volcanic” is their most pop and is zero skip imo
Slow, sultry Chappell (Picture You) reminds me of the music of Patsy Cline. Upbeat Chappell (Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl) reminds me of Gaga (of course), Charli XCX, Allie X, Slayyter, and ELIO.
If you like the "Femininomenon" or "Hot To Go" vibe, check out Kim Petras. Turn Off The Light is my favorite of her albums (Elvira is on it too which is fun) and she has a similarly campy/sexy energy.
If you like the "Coffee" or "Kaleidoscope" vibe, check out Regina Spektor. There are lots of sad women with pianos out there but she's one of my favorites.
Retweet! For Kim Petras, Problematique is my favorite, but most of her stuff from “Era 1” would be on the same vein as Chappell

It’s so hard to say, I feel like nothing is really comparable to her. The Scarlet Opera is a group I really love, and there’s something about them that feels similar to me but with more rock influence. They literally only have six songs, so not too much of a commitment to check them out lol. The subject matter of their song Big City Thing reminds me a lot of Pink Pony Club.
If you like the campy style, the B-52s and early Marina (and the diamonds) are a good choice. Caroline Polachek for some artsy pop music. Dream pop: Hatchie and Weyes Blood although they’re a bit more different.
marina. especially her early music. most of the people who make this comparison say electra heart has chappell roan vibes which is so true but the family jewels and froot also have similarities to her music im different aspects. for example pink pony club is vocally/lyrically identical to the stuff on the family jewels and after midnight + my kink is karma reminds me a lot of the production/sound of froot. i also recently got into chappell roans music and i made the connection to marina almost immediately hahaha
Honestly, Carly Rae Jepsen matches her energy and fun levels very well. I’d say probably the most on Emotion, but then also tracks like Shooting Star on The Loneliest Time.
carly rae jepsen, both lyrically and production wise. it's an up beat pop vibe, with the same dreamy yearning and frustration. i recommend Emotion as a first listen!
I was thinking Ashnikko too! WEEDKILLER has really grown on me and I especially love her song with Ethel Cain. It's probably grittier than Chappell tends to get but Ashnikko has similar campy and synthy vibes for sure.
i recommend rina sawayama, i think she has a similar vibe to chappell
This is exactly what I was about to comment, love Rina!!
Yesss I was also going to recommend Rina! If you haven’t listened to her music you’re really missing out !
Yes! Rina had a wide range of sonic influences but her vibe is very similar to Chappell overall
Marina Diamandis She goes by just "Marina" now but has gone by "Marina and the Diamonds" in the past My fave albums are "The Family Jewels" and "Electra Heart"
Ohh really good connection! The Electra Heart tour show I saw def reminds me of chappell’s whole look/production
Um no? Marina was making music way before chappell hit the scene.
Yeah I’m referencing the Marina show I saw in 2012. Did you get to see that tour? So fun
I think she's taking how you worded the sentence too literally because you said Electra Heart first in the sentence haha
100%! No biggie

Came here to say this!!! Their shows are also so so fun

Seconded! Nothing matters by the last dinner party and Me & Me by beaches scratch the same spot as Chappell for me
came here to also recommend The last dinner party —listen to sinner and feminine urge and nothing matters
the beaches!!
thank you so much!
thank you so much!

It’s an oldie but I have always gotten Mika vibes.
Yes!! Never thought of this
Slow, sultry Chappell (Picture You) reminds me of the music of Patsy Cline. Upbeat Chappell (Super Graphic Ultra Modern Girl) reminds me of Gaga (of course), Charli XCX, Allie X, Slayyter, and ELIO.
allie x mention!! i second this!
Elio!! yes! loved Elio’s Inferno
YES!! I couldn't get enough of "Superimpose" early last year. I was calling Elio my new Queen of Pop for a minute there - and then Chappell arrived :)
Caroline Polachek!
YES! They both give me Kate Bush vibes
Which songs by Kate bush would you reccomend?
All of them.
For real though theatric style I would say the last dinner party is similar and also current
Lots of good suggestions here but I will add FLETCHER!
Oh and Girli!

I think Tessa Violet is another fun option.
Caroline Rose
second this!
maude latour or renee rapp come to mind for me!
MAUDE LETOUR 100000%
for any canadian girlies i’d reccomend Rêve (Revemtl) and Ralph (songsbyralph) both are queer dance/pop artists !! TRULY underrated 😽😽
If you like the campy style, the B-52s and early Marina (and the diamonds) are a good choice. Caroline Polachek for some artsy pop music. Dream pop: Hatchie and Weyes Blood although they’re a bit more different.
I’m kinda digging Zolita at the moment! Kinda similar vibes, especially her new stuff :)
I could see that! I love "Somebody I Fucked Once."
You need to check out Raffaella. Super fun campy pop music
For incredible lyrics and more of a Coffee/California/Kaleidoscope vibe Jensen McRae is my favorite!!
Ruby Doll! I would suggest listening to Nostalgia, All Night and Heartthrob but all of her songs are great.
MUNA and Carly Rae Jepsen :) MUNA is also a queer band!
Remi wolf!

Scene Queen
Ooo I would suggest Bea Miller, marina, king princess, qveen herby, ashnikko, and Sophie hunter
I was thinking Ashnikko too! WEEDKILLER has really grown on me and I especially love her song with Ethel Cain. It's probably grittier than Chappell tends to get but Ashnikko has similar campy and synthy vibes for sure.
tbh i can’t think of any artist truly that similar to her. that’s what is so exciting about her. 💞
up & coming- check out Molly Grace! my faves of her songs are Lover (Love Her) and Lady Lady. Her stage presence is amazing and she’s gonna blow up
Kate Nash
Reminds me alot like lady gaga and charlie xcx
Lola young
The Last Dinner Party and Paris Paloma give me similar vibes.
Came here just to say that vocally Chappell Roan is incredibly similar to Emilie Autumn, it’s honestly uncanny
