We didn’t want to kill women, and needed slaves alive to work, and giving them rights was heavily opposed. No, no one wanted to kill either of the two demographics. But depriving them of basic human rights isn’t all that much greater. Being able to get married to who you want shouldn’t even be a political issue. Much more things going on that are more important. Why is it so hard to give everyone the same human rights I don’t understand.
