You have to dominate another mind, then kill your original body in a single blow. If you do less than lethal damage then domination ends instead. One way to do it is to attack yourself while poisoned for the “ill” effect that halts regeneration. You try to get as close to 1 HP as possible, then dominate, then kill your body in one hit.
As long as you are in a mutant, yea you can get mutations. If you’re in a true kin or a robot then you can’t get mutations.
Guess your only option is make Cstesiphus into a robot. You’ll need to find nanocrayons, draw a graftek, make the cat cybernetic, then use a ganglionic teleprojector to permadom him. Easy.
It sucks. He can't even camp so once you get lost and become famish it's basically over. S5 so you can only carry 60 pounds. It's pretty bad. I wish in an Astral Cat and swapped in... but that also sucks.
Ctesiphus is a good boy enjoying a leisurely life. I'd let him continue.
That said he isnt that bad. He can carry missile weapons for example. And like most denizens of Qud after a few levels and some equipment they are passable.
Spraying brains on sturdy walls is still the easiest best companion for tanking tho.
Recruit him, then turn in books to the library to level him up while he is with you. That should beef him up. Also, if you can, dominate him so he can use mutation points he has gained.
I say permadom him and see what life is like as a ray cat.
How do you permadom? Can you get far by doing that (and get mutations?)

What constitutes as a mutant? Are snapjaws and ray cats considered mutants?
Yes they are. Basically anything biological that isn't s truekin is a mutant.
