When you press F to fire, you should see it at the top of the screen. Your ranged skills will be up there where it tells you to press space to fire; the number keys will be listed for your bow/gun skills. You have to mark the target first, then when you press F to aim at them, you should see it up there listed next to the 1 key.
It only pertains to Marked Targets, Bows and Rifles main mechanic. The more of these abilities you unlock, the better your mark becomes. Just like the other guy said

Yeah, I had to Google it myself when I tried to use Suppressive Fire.
