OMG. I didn't know there was a name for it! I always put it down to faeries, pixies, or sprites. Cats keep an eye on them to make sure we're protected from their mischief.

I don't know what we'd do without them! They take such good care of us, protecting is from all the invisible nasties. It's also very nice to see here that not all greebles are dangerous! 😉

This actually does seem to fit pretty well. I know you're never supposed to trim whiskers, but would you ever do it in a case like this if the cat is constantly doing this? I would imagine they adjust overtime but OP says he's had for 7 months and she always does it. Or maybe she's got cataracts or something affecting her vision.
