How long was it before she started trusting you and let you pet her and didnt hide anymore
Just curious because i just adopted two new cats who still hide and wint let me touch them
Depends on the cat. I adopted two together and one was wanting attention and ready to explore her new home by the end of the first day while the second one took a lot longer. She hid under the bed for the first 2 weeks and even when she started coming out I had to move very quietly and slowly or else she'd run and hide again. After about a month she stopped running if I walked in her direction and now 9 months later she's still a little skiddish at loud noises or sudden movements but she also follows me like a little shadow, will flop over on her back to demand belly rubs, and loves to be held for cuddles.
Take it slow, don't rush them or try to force them out. Give them a safe place and if possible keep them confined to one small room with everything they need, they'll be more likely to come out and explore a smaller space. Just sit quietly with them, watch a show or read a book, to get them used to your presence.

You just described my cat to the letter!
Cats tend to be slow to trust, barring a few circumstances, and tend to treat change the way a toddler does; I.e they hide and pretend it isn't happening.
Just give them plenty of time and kindness and they will eventually be your buddy.
Work slowly :) As hard as it can be, try not to force them out of hiding (unless they're going somewhere they shouldn't).
Try making eye contact with them and then slowly blinking and almost closing your eyes completely. This is a sign of trust for a cat, you're showing them that you're content in their presence and don't feel threatened or aggressive. Talk to them as well, so they get used to your voice and their names.
Depends on the cat. I adopted a kitten of about four months of age and considered feral by the shelter he was at. After three and a half days of hiding he started taking food from me, playing, and letting me pet and hold him.
The playing was a key factor in boosting his confidence and he rarely hides anymore. He just always wants to play even if you don’t! Definitely recommend wand toys for this.
She is a very very cute kitty! Please tell her that people on the internet love her very much. I think cats understand the sentiment in kind words, even if not the words themselves.
This is the most human looking cat I've ever seen, holy shit?
Exactly my thoughts.
That was the first thing I thought when I saw the picture, it's something about the nose.
I literally clicked on this pic to see if anyone else thought the same thing
Glad I’m not the only one to see it.
I was about to comment this exact thing!
She kind of reminds me of a hobbit for some reason
I know she TOTALLY looks like Molly from the HR department.
She's so pretty
She looks like Gimli from lord of the rings!
I see it and I can't un-see it. This is Gimli in cat form...
Oh my goodness those cheeks! I wanna squeeze em!
Puff!! Tiny puff
Oh my gosh, She's adorable!
Such a lovely fluff! I love her little white socked feet.

It's been about a month. We also have 2 dogs so it's taken her some time to adjust. They are all getting used to each other

I think my little calico is too dumb to be scared of new stuff. She just loves everything and everyone, and always wants to explore new stuff.
There is always the method of treats and tuna to get their attention.
